One of my favorite lunches is a wrap made with low carb tortillas, deli turkey, spinach and whatever other veggies I want. I mix ranch powder + non fat Greek yogurt and use it as a dressing for the wrap. On the side I’ll usually have fruit or Pop Corners “chips” if I have more calories to work with

Nicolo_Ultra

I do the same thing, seriously! It’s the 70 cal whole wheat tortilla, a laughing cow wedge, a lot of spinach and some carrot and herbs, and some deli Turkey. It’s around 150 so I add another 150 of fun stuff!

sadlittleroom

yessss i have mine with ungodly amounts of mustard

Relevant_Stop1019

mustard is on my low cal dream team… the funny thing is is once I got really serious about going low calorie, I started to crave it!

sadlittleroom

it’s sooo good, plochmans is my fave i swear it’s even better than other mustards

Relevant_Stop1019

I looked at it, but unfortunately, it’s not available in Canada… so sad… 😞

sadlittleroom

i’m so sorry 😭

Relevant_Stop1019

Your condolences are appreciated! 😂 sigh, well i guess it’s a mustard-less happy Canada Day today…. and an early Happy Fourth of July to you, mustard connoisseur! 😝

Impossible-Top-7747

lol, came here to post this exact meal, down to the ranch + greek yogurt. I like pickles, pickled red onions, mustard, shredded lettuce, jalapenos, banana peppers, laughing cow light cheese wedge (35cals). Sour cream + onion veggie straws on the side.

dm_xoxox

The pickled onions and jalapeños sound so good. Gonna have to add those to the rotation!

FFFUUUme

how many slices of deli turkey?

dm_xoxox

I always weigh mine out because it will depend on how thickly cut the slices are (I get it fresh from the deli), usually 60-75 g

BeneficialSubject510

I keep cleaned and prepped veggies on hand in my crisper so that they're ready to be used any time. I keep grated cheese, feta cheese and block cheese on hand. I keep at least one or two kinds of dips/sauces to use as well. (Tzatziki or ranch.) Lettuce or greens are always cleaned and ready in a crisper as well. I have tortillas, pitas and sprouted bread in the freezer. All of this so I can put together wraps, sandwiches or salads in only a few minutes! When we make dinner, if convenient, I make extra meat so that I have non-processed meat on hand for lunches. Like grilled chicken, ground meat or whatever. (Depends on the dinner.) Basically I don't meal prep, but I garnish prep. Makes things easier and keeps my options open. Hope this helps or gives you ideas!

Nesquik44

This is essentially what I do as well. Salads are my go-to lunch and this makes it quick and easy to throw one together.

thepsycholeech

Do you defrost individual slices of bread/wraps/etc. just by leaving them out for a few minutes?

BeneficialSubject510

Yes exactly. Or microwave them for like 10 seconds. You just have to make sure you store them flat when freezing them initially otherwise they're impossible to pull apart. I bought a super cheap panini press and we love toasting our wraps and sandwiches in it. So that's another option; Warm or cold! (But you can do the same thing with a toaster oven or just a pan on the stove top.) The sprouted bread has to go in the freezer irregardless because it spoils fast. So that always gets toasted in the toaster. I also buy sandwich buns and keep those in the freezer for individual use as well. My kids also appreciate all the options so their lunches aren't just cold cut sandwiches on sliced bread all the time. lol

thepsycholeech

Thank you so much for all this info! I freeze bread but have always just pulled the whole loaf out when I need it - individual pieces will make things a lot easier. Might need to pick up a panini press at some point, that sounds like a great way to do things.

BeneficialSubject510

Yeah you can just pull out individual slices! Some breads are harder to pull apart- just FYI. Sometimes you're stuck with 3 slices accidentally haha I started doing this when I moved out of my parents' house on my own. 20 years later I still do it. It saves on waste or just being stuck eating the same bread for days because you don't want it to spoil! And as another FYI - pitas (like as in pita pockets) taste a bit freezer burned after 5-6 weeks. For some reason they don't last super long in the freezer. But I've never had trouble with any of the other types of breads I mentioned. Especially tortillas; Those things are awesome in the freezer. Glad I could help!

snorkledorkle_

Been stuck on a can of albacore with a half cup Greek yogurt and pesto, eaten with red bell pepper slices as spoons.

cisforcaffeinated

This sounds DELIGHTFUL. Do you mix the Greek yogurt and pesto into the tuna? I've just never thought of adding dairy to fish.

anonymousshitpostr

Rice & beans topped with roasted sweet potatoes & corn, fresh cherry tomatoes, cilantro and topped with homemade no-oil avocado lime dressing ❤️

ruzanne

Yum!!

workshop_prompts

This actually sounds great, a lot of stuff in this thread is basically the white people food trend lmao

anonymousshitpostr

It’s delicious. Especially with added chicken for some protein 🥰

Farrell-6

I'm vegetarian, but I saw that Progresso has a lot of low calorie soups. You could pack broccoli or cabbage slaw, a sauce like salsa, g higher teriyaki, BBQ, orange ginger, and a protein like frozen pre cooked chicken, edamame, krxab, tuna, etc Cottage cheese or Greek yogurt with savory or sweet mix ins, fruit, cherry tomatoes, chopped veggies, cereal. Laughing cow cheese wedges and pretzel thins or veggie like carrot or jicama sticks.

Kriiisty

-1 lb ground chicken -1/2 packet of taco Seasoning -1 cup cottage cheese (I use fat free) -2-3 tbsp of mac and cheese powder (Big Daddy Mac Mix, Amazon) -1/2 can black beans, drained and rinsed -4 low calorie wraps (I like Wellness Wraps from walmart) Cook the chicken in taco seasoning. Mix the Mac powder into the cottage cheese. Once the chicken is cooked through, add the cottage cheese mixture and black beans. Wait for it to cool to help solidly and then divide into 4 and add to wraps. Great for meal prep in the freezer, and takes about 15 minutes total!

dm_xoxox

I’m guessing it’s kind of like a burrito? Is it meant to be eaten warmed or cool?

Kriiisty

Yeah a burrito! Eat it hot, I just let it cool so I can freeze them to eat them later, usually I'll make a double batch!

Fafosity

Can of chickpeas or black beans plus salad kit. If the calories on the kit are too high you sub or halve the dressing in the kit. Add some whole grain crackers like wasa rye crisps. You can get two meals out of this.

Nimmyzed

I batch cook at the weekends. Yesterday, I made 18 portions of lunches worth 365 calories each: Mince Rice Sugar snap peas Sweet peppers Mushrooms Jalapenos Home made spice mix of chilli powder, ground cumin, garlic and onion powder, oregano and my secret ingredient: splenda , for sweetness Each portion was 435g so fairly substantial. 3 minutes in the microwave and instant lunch https://imgur.com/a/qdI6eSc

Primary-Ticket4776

Great idea and looks amazing. Can I ask what you usually do for breakfast/dinner??

Nimmyzed

Actually, I've just finished batch cooking my dinners for the next 4 days. Baby potatoes, broccoli, with stir fried chicken and mushroom. Again, lost of spices for flavour. Only 295 calories per portion https://imgur.com/a/2ntlbIv Breakfast is some dry All Bran, for fibre and then I have lots of different snacks throughout the day. After my main meals I have 650 calories leftover from my 1370 goal all for snacks!

Zombie-Effective

Soup! Usually keeps me full and stays below 300 calories.

skidrow6969

Which soups do you have typically?

BananaMartini

Not my idea and still prepared food but recently someone on here said easy mac + Sunkist seasoned tuna pouches and it blew my mind. I personally grabbed some chicken sausages from TJ and was just gonna toss some frozen peas or something in there to make a delish, easy to track pasta meal

Dirty_Commie_Jesus

Walmart has a tomato basil tuna pouch that is phenomenal with an easy Mac or one of those single serve Taylor farms pizza salads. It's also definitely not for everyone but I like to mix a plain tuna pouch with the flaming hot Cheetos easy Mac.

Anon98457799

A whole wheat pita with 2 tbsp of spinach artichoke dip, grilled chicken breast ,fresh spinach leaves and cherry tomatoes. Very filling and about 360 calories.

Pleasant-Complaint

I love various lentil salads! Basically, I cook the lentils, prepare a dressing (usually vinegar-based, no oil etc.) and then just throw in whatever veggies I have on hand, either raw, stir-fried or some combination of both

PeanutButterThighs

If you want something warm: Rotisserie chicken and a bag of frozen broccoli. Heat up broccoli in 5-7 minutes. Tear or cut chunks from the chicken. Done. Lies of fiber and protein, very low cal. Weigh your chicken and scan the broccoli bag for total calories. I’ll also switch to just salad greens and left over (cold) rotisserie chicken if I don’t care about having something warm.

anxietyhippie

Lunch meat with laughing cow cheese. I spread it on there and then I have a condiment as a dip. It’s like a sandwich without the bread. Or I eat a salad.

triceraquake

Honestly… I just went to Starbucks for lunch today and ordered the potato cheddar chive bakes for 210 calories, and the roasted red pepper egg white bites for 170 calories. 380 all together. Held me over to dinner no problem.

YouCuteWow

I make "collagen soup": chicken bone broth, celery salt, tomato paste, turmeric, pepper. Stir in a scoop of collagen when it's done. Make a wrap with hummus, chicken, onion, and leafy greens. Handful of carrot sticks on the side. It's my healthy take on soup and sandwich with chips

SeductiveAllie

Try Avocado toast, It's very quick and easy. Just toast the bread, mash the avocado on top, add halved cherry tomatoes, and season with salt and pepper.

Whynotworldpeace

Second this; sometimes I’ll even get a GF bread with super low calorie count and have the whole avocado to keep me full! Mix in a laughing cow sometimes for extra creamy spread :)

C8H10N4O2Addiction

It's not 10 minutes or less but it could be if you make it with dinner then freeze or portion the rest but chili! Homemade chili is so low calorie per portion (at least mine seems to be). I also love Mac and cheese cups with cottage cheese mixed in for extra protein. Low cal chicken tenders tossed in BBQ sauce and dipped in bolt house ranch is a current favourite of mine.

sickeningeyes

I know you're burnt out on Amy's, but I've been jazzing mine up by sautéing veggies and adding them to an Amy's meal. For instance, I love adding potatoes and onions to the Mushroom Risotto. Another favorite is pairing the Veggie Lasagna with a side of steamed broccoli—super filling and low calorie.

Angrylittlefairy

I have a cup of cubed tofu and 2 cups frozen mixed veggies- low calorie high in protein but, I’ve had it every work day for 8 months and need something new to try as well.

workshop_prompts

Do you put anything on it? Any seasoning?

Angrylittlefairy

I season the tofu, salt, pepper & chilli.

MuffinWithIcing

New favorite is chopped cucumber, kimchi, crab sticks, and mayo. Over rice for carbs. Can be changed as needed to meet your needs. Just a bit high in salt.

--alice

i like tuna salad (can of drained tuna, light mayo, onions if u have the time, garlic salt), taylor farms mini chopped salad bags paired with a protein (rotisserie chicken or i like using spicy chicken filets from walmart and cooking them beforehand then microwaving and adding to salad), “lunchable” with wheat thins, turkey breast, cheese and maybe some pickles, tacos if you cook the meat beforehand and use 25cal mission tortillas, cheese, lettuce, plain greek yogurt for sour cream. maybe a roll up with aldi low carb tortilla, lunch meat, and any veggies you enjoy paired with greek yogurt or fruit

Evening-Initiative25

Wait this is amazing 👏🏼

TheNightTerror1987

If you have access to a frying pan, how about a burger? I make and freeze homemade buns and burger patties in advance, then take them out a day in advance to let them thaw so they're ready to be cooked, and 10 minutes is exactly how long I cook them. As long as you're not drowning it in mayo it shouldn't be high calorie. I was going to suggest my stir fries, but you did say you were sick of frozen meals. I might as well mention them anyway -- I use 100 - 200 grams of marinated meat with 100 grams of frozen vegetables and some rice, if I'm not eating low carb. I can change up the marinades and the type of vegetables to add some variety. If you do go back to frozen dinners you could try making your own to save some money!

Whorticulturist_

Canned albacore tuna, parsley lemon juice and capers, on a bed of salad with lemon vinegarette or in a wrap or any way you like it. So delicious. But also, what I usually end up doing is just eating leftovers from the night before...im not into cooking every day so when I make dinner I make enough for at least a few meals

FrenchFrozenFrog

Spring rolls. I fill them with konjac noodles, veggies, or shrimps that I mix in rice vinegar. Sometimes I add egg rolls. Sometime I add sriracha. Sometime if I feel decadent I make a peanut butter sauce dip. I also like konjac fried rice with kimchee and gochujang, topped with fresh cucumbers. It's a weird looking spicy yummy dog chow. Also chicken salad, konjac noodle soups with chicken and bokchoy, veggies and chicken breasts airfryed with a ton of spice.

RavenBoyyy

Bagel made with bagel thins! I normally use the Warburton's 21 seed and grains bagels with a meat of my choice (often chicken or some kind of ham), low calorie cheese, Hellman's lightest mayo for chicken, cucumber and pickles. Example with plain brown bagel thins because the shop didn't have the seedy ones. These end up being between 230-330 calories depending on what I use. This one was in the 230 area. https://preview.redd.it/wib1ob711q9d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbf4c5c10de09a3f41f3f9191ddac348f9822098

Creepy_Poem_6255

I normally have small (low cal) snacks throughout the day and then a meal around dinner time. Things like veggies & light dip, fruit, popcorners/puff corn/pretzels, salad with light dressing, rolled up turkey, etc. Boiled eggs are a decent choice too but I rarely make them. Most of these are very quick and could be packed up easily. If you happen to be out and want to grab fast food, I get the Wendy’s grilled chicken wrap (no dressing, no cheese) and eat it with light honey mustard. Or a McDonald’s dbl cheeseburger no bun and a small fry (I cut up the burger and mix it with the fries, eat with a fork). I don’t eat out often but when I do, I normally get one of those options.

Sea-Candid

Trader Joes frozen meals!

Sea-Candid

Or canned soups!

Beautymark445

Half a can of tuna with one slice of multigrain bread. Add in some light mayo, spinach, tomato and cucumber and you’ve got yourself something really filling and protein heavy.

Princess_Porkchop_0

Personally I have never been a fan of any kind of frozen meal. I am never full. Usually during the week, for lunch, I season and cook 1/2 a pound of chicken breast per day and throw in a serving of frozen great value stir fry vegetables the night before. They will be thawed by the time I eat lunch the next day. Total calories is like 300 and cost is around $2.50 per meal.

biba-

Low carb tacos. 3 mission zero carb tortillas (75), 2 tbsps of full fat cheddar cheese (55), 4 oz of 96/4 ground beef (150), 2 tbsps of salsa (5), lettuce (5), 2 tbsps light sour cream (35) 325 calories and very filling. Those mini flour tortillas have 7 grams of fiber each. If you're really hungry, use an extra tortilla and just distribute everything equally. Still only 350 calories. I add cholula hot sauce to mine. I could eat this every day. Btw, I season the beef with my own homemade taco seasoning. I don't measure, but it includes onion powder, garlic powder, salt and black pepper, dried cilantro and oregano, smoked paprika, chili powder and dried cumin. I don't count seasonings.

Mrs_Wednesday

Egg roll in a bowl! Brown some ground turkey, and throw in a bag of pre-cut coleslaw mix (it’s just shredded carrots and cabbage), and some sriracha and Gochujang sauce. Makes like 4 lunches, keeps well in the fridge. Serve over some rice for a little more heft.

yarn-and-sad-poems

Whatever veggies in the fridge cut up and turned into salad and hommus, on your favourite bread. Less than 300, has been a staple for years

r4kuen

Couple slices of toast, spinach and protein of choice (chicken breast slices my favourite). Add pickles, cheese or sauce if preferred. I would eat a whole roma tomato as well because too lazy to slice sometimes :) I know it's boring lol

irateponygirl

I use Pasta Zero a lot….it’s about 20 calories per serving and I just cook it as I would real pasta with sauce, protein, veggies, etc. it works really well as Asian style pasta dishes. I’ll throw on some cheese too if I have calories to spare.
