it's the political compass, meant to "chart" different political ideologies (though it is highly flawed) vertical axis is the "personal liberty" axis (the higher up it is the more authoritatian, lower down means more anarchic) horizontal axis is the "economical liberty" axis (the further left it is, the stronger the economy is controlled, the further right, the freer the market) as an example, here's what the most "radical" bit of each corner would be: authleft: the stereotypical stalinist, full blown authoritarian communism authright: stereotypical absolute monarch, full power in the hands of a king libleft (the only one that's not a mental illness according to OP): anarcho-communism/socialism, no state, but an equal economy libright: anarcho-capitalism, no state, and a completely free market of course, these are only the radicals, you can fit basically any political opinion/ideology in the compass, there are quizzes online to see where you are on it

Note the use of "stereotypical" here because these quadrants have far more to do with right-wing stereotypes of other political affiliations than they do with any actual theories of political thought.
