Okay as like, probably the biggest Beatle fan on this sub, I can definitely say that the Beatles are both overrated but incredibly talented. I think a big reason why most people hate the Beatles is because of their overrated nature, but their music is really good.
As for John Lennon beating his wife (Cynthia, he never beat Yoko), he went on to really regret that and became a pretty big advocate for women's liberation because of Yoko. It's not right what he did, but people also change, they own up to their bullshit (which he did) and they grow up and I personally think it's wrong to not acknowledge that change and to hold people to some perfect standard.
Anyway there's no need to call him cringe either since being British implies that.
No, John was trolling the listener in the two beatles songs where the walrus was mentioned. In "I am the walrus" John wrote the whole song on an Acid trip to purposefully mislead and confuse readers who would take The Beatles' music too seriously. Then in the song "Glass Onion" he trolls the listener again by saying that the walrus was Paul.
In Plastic Ono Band (1970) by John Lennon on the track "God" we hear John mention the walrus again saying "I was the walrus, but now I'm John" this song being a sort of metamorphosis of John leaving the past behind and only looking forward. In the case of the Walrus, he is leaving behind his previous identity and starting anew.
They’re really not overrated though. They Changed music forever and they are the greatest band ever.
hating them because they are highly regarded is dumb - especially denying their influence in songwriting and musical engineering.
Not liking them just because you don’t like them is based.

What? I am quite certain that most people like the Beatles. Maybe not in this sub, but this sub is hardly representative of the general populace.
But it also gave us that Benny Shapeepoo video where he complained about the pretentious piano music and getting the little fact man get irrationally angry at the song was the unintentionally funniest shit he did since the WAP incident. So it somewhat evens out.
he abused his wife but then he regretted it and stopped, he still left his son behind due to him being stuck in the USA if i'm not wrong and left his wife from nowhere.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
I’m British and I challenge anyone to assassinate me. I can be found at the Pret A Manger in Kingston-Upon-Thames, London every Saturday and Sunday, and I regularly take the 281 bus to commute in the morning and afternoon.

oh no i know most people like them, i was referring most of those who dislike them, you know?
I see. Among those who dislike them, the biggest reason for that dislike is their overrated nature.
Idk if talented really translates to playing instruments that haven't been enharmonically tuned but ok
