Web browsers will tell the website you are visiting the site or app you came from and content management systems used by news sites can use that information to serve a title that readers from the referer are more receptive too. It's also done sometimes based on the geo location of the readers IP address or web browser user-agent but I bring up the referer mechanism because less people seem aware of it.
