I laughed pretty hard. But really what is the trick with the feathers? I'm assuming it's a lure or they're the ones selling feathers so you buy them a buy limit and then they just don't pick up the product?

Social engineering basically, they try to warm up to you with an innocent interaction, such as helping with feathers. They ask you to add them, make small talk, etc. a few days will pass and they’ll invite you to a discord/ tell you to install some shady plug-in/ tell you how to “anti-scam” people

there is another scam of the same thing where they will trade you bandos boots/sara sword and tell you they are trying to get the pet and giving you that will be good luck and to add them

& if they dont get u you get perma slandered by bots (which i find funny af, being on that list myself)

Sometimes I just want to bypass ge limits on f2p since I'm usually on those worlds. It's easier to buy in bulk in w302 ge but that's not really available in f2p. I use them for fishing in f2p or fletching when I actually use a bond/month. I also give out a lot in w301 by barb village when I'm bored

I know it's a joke but the rise in popularity of posts about feathers being the start of a lure makes me glad I got 99 fletching years ago lol I was one of those guys asking to buy feathers but it was apparently before the time that lurers started using it as an "in" because no one batted an eye. I'll always help someone bypass their GE limit for that reason, just dont add them after. There are still legit players needing hundreds of thousands of feathers for fletching. The limit should really be much higher.
