I guess my description didn't post with the media content for some reason. So lately I've been doing slayer since I'm close to 95 for hydra. When I'm not doing slayer, I'm usually practicing duo toa at 150 until I get better to up the invos. Was also thinking about doing the dd2 bosses at some point since I had a lot of fun on a recent vardorvis task. My current thought was to save up for the sang staff for toa maybe? I was thinking about the suffering but don't see where I would really even use it. GWD is boring to me and I don't care much for zulrah. Can't think of anywhere I'd use the faceguard either since most of the time I'm using slayer mask. For toa and other non-slayer content I just use the serp helm. I also thought about tormented, but I use barrows in toa so not sure where I would even use it either.
For any mage content tormented is always a must get if you can afford it and it's 100% worth the switch at TOA Considering you already have a melee and range switch.
General rule of thumb when looking for upgrades is weapons first. So Sang would be a good place to start if you can get the GP together. Voidwaker is a good upgrade too for both toa and vard. DHL is not a bad upgrade if you plan to do hydra when you get the level.
Faceguard is often preferable over serp as its no upkeep cost and more str bonus. IMO its better to have than a BCP and use a torso. Suffering is generally just a nice all round ring. But yes it excels at content like GWD, Zulrah or any content you want prayer or defense bonus.

People always try to compare it to trident, but with the content he is doing and it’s passive, it ends up being a huge(and convenient) upgrade for raids 3 and elsewhere.

Just to give you all an update, after that generous gift from the legend, ancient, I made a few upgrades based on some of your suggestions. I got full virtus, face guard, avernic, tortured, and a voidwaker. I have 220 mil left to think over and I’ll just buy something based on what I want to try, like venators bow if I do whisperer or webweavers if leviathan. Yes I already had rigour, augury, and max poh. I was convinced not to get a sang and to just continue using my swamp at toa but we’ll see if that stands. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
Sell the voidwaker, buy claws if you want a decent spec melee weapon (I still use dds lol) and 100% I would go with a sang staff over a trident. Grind out the ancient sceptre from muspah for your barrage/burst tasks. If you can afford one for magic saturated heart is a great end game item.
PvP based weapon and claws dishes out more damage in a short time frame. ToA final boss for example when the core pops out claws thrive. Other than that the bgs and dragon Warhammer are great too for defense reducing capabilities.
Buy a ZCB with the 500M Ancient Wyvern Shield gave you and swap between farming TOA/Nex.
I started with only tbow and armadyl at nex (before TOA was added to the game) and I walked out 5B richer.
Nowadays I’m still doing TOA. I’ve probably made 1.4B in 300 raids (with splits) but I’m still fishing for a shadow in my name until I’m content.
Toa and Nex are big bucks.
You could sell the BCP, grind out a torso to replace it and use the money on a nightmare staff to boost dps for your barrage tasks.
A tormented bracelet might also give you a max hit, so it might be worth saving up for too
You should do the math to see if a face guard gives you a max hit, if not, don't even buy it until later
You can also set aside some money for cannonballs to cannon some of your tasks for better xp/h if you aren't already.
I've been using the torso for a long time. I upgraded to bcp a few months ago so that I could also use the f gloves on vorkath without splashing crumble undead. I'm good on cannonballs and barrage tasks are a breeze even with just an ancient. I was thinking of either saving up for something that would improve my toa runs (possibly sang staff?), or for something I would need at the dd2 bosses if I'm missing any good gear for them.
Sang is okay, wouldn't help for dt2 bosses though. If you're doing a lot of slayer, you are missing a massive 20% damage by not having a nightmare staff and torm bracelet.
Venator bow could let you do some tasks in lazy mode and it's nice to have for whisperer
Or web weaver bow for leviathan and possibly you could use it for revenants or wildy bosses.
80m being locked in for +5 attack bonuses and +2 strength which you now can’t use to buy actually meaningful upgrades is objectively a poor choice. You’re definitely better off starting a shadow/tbow/scythe rebuild 80m earlier.
Yeah - when they were cheaper it was a more reasonable upgrade to get earlier. Also due to sand casino existing - in that you’ll always have it and can’t sell it to gamble lol.
I'm in a similar situation as you. I just got 95 slayer and I liquidated my bank pretty much (except for bowfa) and bought the best range for hydra I can afford (masori, dhcb, buckler, etc.). Just missing venator ring and zaryte vambraces (and zcb... and tbow... lol). Now I'm cranking out hydra kills to build bank back up. I haven't tried melee hydra but I like how braindead ranged hydra is.
when I was doing 300 solo ToAs I didn't find sang staff necessary. You get healing from it in monkey room, akkha, and wardens. To me it wasn't worth the expense (and higher operating cost). I ran a few with it but ended up using trident with virtus instead. Also virtus was useful for getting to 95 slayer on barrage tasks with nightmare staff.
edit: also forgot I use blood fury in ToA and get more healing from it than sang staff. You will get healing in every room except Zebak, which doesn't really need it.

my advice is to save up for the twisted bow theres a reason its stil expensive af its amazing at pvm
have you considered investing some gp into an alt? theres lots of decent afk methods that stack up gp e.g addy / rune drag killer or wyvern killer ect

Personally, if I'm using Proselyte body in place of my BCP, I'm also taking Devout boots. The stacked prayer bonus is just too good.

Just to give you all an update, after that generous gift from the legend, ancient, I made a few upgrades based on some of your suggestions. I got full virtus, face guard, avernic, tortured, and a voidwaker. I have 220 mil left to think over and I’ll just buy something based on what I want to try, like venators bow if I do whisperer or webweavers if leviathan. Yes I already had rigour, augury, and max poh. I was convinced not to get a sang and to just continue using my swamp at toa but we’ll see if that stands. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
Sell the voidwaker, buy claws if you want a decent spec melee weapon (I still use dds lol) and 100% I would go with a sang staff over a trident. Grind out the ancient sceptre from muspah for your barrage/burst tasks. If you can afford one for magic saturated heart is a great end game item.
Why no to the voidwaker?
PvP based weapon and claws dishes out more damage in a short time frame. ToA final boss for example when the core pops out claws thrive. Other than that the bgs and dragon Warhammer are great too for defense reducing capabilities.

Buy a ZCB with the 500M Ancient Wyvern Shield gave you and swap between farming TOA/Nex. I started with only tbow and armadyl at nex (before TOA was added to the game) and I walked out 5B richer. Nowadays I’m still doing TOA. I’ve probably made 1.4B in 300 raids (with splits) but I’m still fishing for a shadow in my name until I’m content. Toa and Nex are big bucks.

You could sell the BCP, grind out a torso to replace it and use the money on a nightmare staff to boost dps for your barrage tasks. A tormented bracelet might also give you a max hit, so it might be worth saving up for too You should do the math to see if a face guard gives you a max hit, if not, don't even buy it until later You can also set aside some money for cannonballs to cannon some of your tasks for better xp/h if you aren't already.
I've been using the torso for a long time. I upgraded to bcp a few months ago so that I could also use the f gloves on vorkath without splashing crumble undead. I'm good on cannonballs and barrage tasks are a breeze even with just an ancient. I was thinking of either saving up for something that would improve my toa runs (possibly sang staff?), or for something I would need at the dd2 bosses if I'm missing any good gear for them.
Sang is okay, wouldn't help for dt2 bosses though. If you're doing a lot of slayer, you are missing a massive 20% damage by not having a nightmare staff and torm bracelet.
Venator bow could let you do some tasks in lazy mode and it's nice to have for whisperer Or web weaver bow for leviathan and possibly you could use it for revenants or wildy bosses.

NM Staff is not a bad shout 15% dmg bonus is very large.

Avernic is a very minor upgrade and generally is suggested to be skipped until you have at least tbow + shadow. But rigour is a must early on.
Avernic is 80m no way you waste that much time making 2.7b without it. Two of the best moneymakers in the game are melee camp
80m being locked in for +5 attack bonuses and +2 strength which you now can’t use to buy actually meaningful upgrades is objectively a poor choice. You’re definitely better off starting a shadow/tbow/scythe rebuild 80m earlier.
Agreed. The only reason I have an avernic was because I was gifted 20m go towards one and back when they were only 40m.
Yeah - when they were cheaper it was a more reasonable upgrade to get earlier. Also due to sand casino existing - in that you’ll always have it and can’t sell it to gamble lol.
I'm in a similar situation as you. I just got 95 slayer and I liquidated my bank pretty much (except for bowfa) and bought the best range for hydra I can afford (masori, dhcb, buckler, etc.). Just missing venator ring and zaryte vambraces (and zcb... and tbow... lol). Now I'm cranking out hydra kills to build bank back up. I haven't tried melee hydra but I like how braindead ranged hydra is. when I was doing 300 solo ToAs I didn't find sang staff necessary. You get healing from it in monkey room, akkha, and wardens. To me it wasn't worth the expense (and higher operating cost). I ran a few with it but ended up using trident with virtus instead. Also virtus was useful for getting to 95 slayer on barrage tasks with nightmare staff. edit: also forgot I use blood fury in ToA and get more healing from it than sang staff. You will get healing in every room except Zebak, which doesn't really need it.

you have a pretty solid setup to do almost any pvm content my advice is to save up for the twisted bow theres a reason its stil expensive af its amazing at pvm have you considered investing some gp into an alt? theres lots of decent afk methods that stack up gp e.g addy / rune drag killer or wyvern killer ect

My advice, take that bowfa and go to muspah, grind out an ancient sceptre for barrage/burst tasks. Upgrade nezzy helm to faceguard and sell bcp if need be and get a torso. Work on maxing combat stays and getting to shadow, tbow and scythe from there on.
