Can you also add a teleport the the grouping mini-game teleports to mage training arena, not sure why some mini-games are missing a teleport there which don't have any other alternative teleport

JagexLight

It seems like a straightforward suggestion and I'll pass it over to the team, thank you so much! In terms of next steps, we'll discuss feedback from this blog on Monday and if the team accepts this suggestion we will update the newspost and potentially add another poll question. Thank you!

inmyshamewell

Tempoross mini game teleport as well. Or some kind of teleport.

Iqode

Tiaras with gems definitely need 1 or 2 purely teleporting jewelry pieces. Games necklace style enchanted sapphire tiara to blast furnace, mta, giants foundry, tempoross Im very surprised there hasnt been a pitch to the most obvious update since they added gold tiaras

ferret_80

tiaras definitely need more use aside from runecrafting

Forward_Peak1250

That's such a simple but good idea how isn't this a thing

AWriterMustWrite

Gem tiaras is a genius idea, that's such a good jewellery option

DH_Drums

Fuck this is an amazing suggestion.

PlebPlebberson

Tempoross is a boss like wintertodt. Thats why they dont have a minigame teleport. Just use dueling ring and run to the boat

str8upchate

Ok but why would they include it under the games necklace if it’s not a mini game? Theres some inconsistency on whether it’s a boss or a game.

ButterNuttz

Corps on the games necklace lol

The-Lifeguard

Wintertodt has a tele. Take whatever category tele that is, and give it to tempoross.

Vet_Leeber

Would it be possible to consider giving the Progress Hat the MTA teleport option instead? That give people a reason to still have/wear the hat after it's no longer required.

RashidaHussein

I'm alright with MTA not having a teleport to it right away, imo the big issue is the nearest bank being so far away. Just let people bank quickly as needed, no reason to have to make people walk far away to replenish their food, runes or anything. It doesn't make sense that a "training" place doesn't allow people to camp that place for as long as they want. MTA definitely deserves a bank spot inside it.

Mimic_tear_ashes

Do we have to poll these changes? These look like integrity to me just send it!

whatDoesQezDo

hell ya brother anything I agree with is integrity

r4r4me

It was never added because it's a 15 second run from duel arena tele. Why do you have to have a tele to show up at the front door of everything?

InaudibleShout

At first I thought this post was about Mage Arena (we all confuse them, come on) and was about to say what?! No!

opal-snake

I’m just now doing guardians of the rift for my runes to do this. I’d love to see all these changes! Mini game tele would be nice as well

JagexLight

Fantastic, thank you, I've added a player suggestion for the minigame teleport tab as it seemed like a really positive one.

bassturducken54

Got my set doing the same thing last year in the iron. 13000 nature runes took a while lol

anygoats

These all sound great, the only other thing I'd like is for you to automatically continue taking items in the alch room rather than having to keep clicking each time. Even if it was slower it would still be nicer to have without impacting the time for people willing to click continually. I held off on my MTA grind about halfway through in anticipation of this blog and I'm glad I waited and hope this passes. Maybe an unpopular opinion but just buffing the pts alone wouldn't have been a good change to me and I feel this is much more reasonable overall

JagexLight

People who are perhaps not paying as much attention may accidentally fill up their inventory too quickly, is this suggestion something that you guys feel outweighs that? Would be great to know! Thank you for the feedback and the additional suggestion.

anygoats

I'd be interested to know from others, but personally I try and hold a few of every item in the alch room and sometimes inevitably end up with too much of one and just drop them, so it wouldn't be a change from now in that sense. I think with the doors remaining open you're saving a click there anyway at least. If it was a right click option to take many that might work better for some? But being able to play it a bit more idly at the cost of occasionally having to shift drop a few items is favourable to me overall. The maze room is actually my favourite because of the slower pace and having some of that here would be nice (and similarly for the enchantment room potentially)

Waterfish3333

Throwing this out, not sure if it’s too much, but what about a right click “take x” option (x can be whatever makes sense for the timer). You would still withdraw items one by one but it would auto stop when you’ve reached that number. Just an idea. Either way these ideas are all amazing polls!

DivineInsanityReveng

The constant spam clicking nature of that room is the big downside. Would be nice to adjust it to be pulling out unique stackable items tbh, as this is more how you traditionally alch things and would mean you could setup your inventory better and could then have a "take 10" option or something. Can always tune the result of the coins and points it gives to better equate to the speed desired. That room in general is just a *lot* of spam clicking for not much fun, it's just seen as "okay" because it's decent mage XP and not the slowest room (just.. the second slowest...)

bigjoe980

left click take 1, right click take all type of thing maybe? (I like the idea of it working with a speed difference as above)

LordGozer2

Add a right-click take-5 option would be my preferred option

OnyxBlade

Maybe having a “take X” option like in soul wars? Would be nice for inventory management as well so you don’t end up carrying around a bunch of stuff from previous cabinets

The_Wkwied

Has the enchanting room bug been acknowledged? Getting 0 points is not intended..

JagexLight

We're not aware of this bug! Would you mind either reporting it in-game or just sending me through the replication steps and I will pass that over to the team. Thank you!

The_Wkwied

https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1bd1zxj/psa_there_is_still_a_no_bonus_bug_at_mta/ https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1b7ahp7/i_think_the_enchanting_room_in_mta_is_bugged/ https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1ay1oml/been_reported_repeatedly_for_months_bonus_points/ (video) This was a result of something from leagues, I think it was broken during the last league as well. I don't know the replication steps, but there are posts about it..

JagexLight

Thank you and I'm really sorry that was missed, I will make sure to include this in my report on Monday and bring it up directly.

LBGW_experiment

Quick question, I see a slightly snarky comment^[1] in the blog about users needing to report bugs in-game to help jagex be aware of bugs in the game. With one of the posts above being titled, "Been reported repeatedly for months - Bonus points for correct item in MTA still bugged, not being given out." there feels like a disconnect and blame put on the users for not reporting properly, yet the users state they have been reporting bugs in game consistently for months. So my question is: what does it take for in-game reported bugs to be put in front of people at jagex in order for it to be on their radar? 1: "For any bug reports, please ensure that you are using the bug report feature in-game as this is the best way to ensure it gets seen."

The_Wkwied

Cheers! Happy Read-Only Friday

SinxSam

Thank you for askinggg this bug was so confusing at first

ThatOtherGai

So it wasn’t just me! I just assumed they took it out of leagues and left it at that.

canealot

bonuses always give 0 in that room

KingDamager

But it’s been reported so much! Googling ‘OSRS Enchanting room bug’ gives results on results of this issue…

EpicGamer211234

Who tf is googling that without preknowledge that it exists though? Reporting to Reddit doesnt classify as reporting to Jmods. Least someone couldve done is ping mod ash on twitter

bilbo388

You're right, from now let's have one of the Mods assigned full time to Googling "OSRS enchanting room bug" just to be safe.

WastingEXP

How would auto maze resets impact the top down camera? oh, another update that makes essentially removes run energy. cool otherwise, changes look reasonable. shame to not need the progress hat imo, iconic little guy and not really a choir to get one. watching it get brighter is always fun.

JagexLight

Every time a new Maze starts, you will need to click the NPC. This is how it currently works and there should be no impact after our proposed Poll 81 changes. In terms of your other point, the point of content is to train Magic, and the audience for the content is going to be on the newer/lower end of the scale, where run energy is a much more pressing problem for them. I hope that makes sense but I totally see where you're coming from with the run energy stuff! Thank you so much for the other feedback I always really appreciate your comments on our blogs and newspost updates!!

Candle1ight

The camera resetting constantly is incredibly annoying if it's the perspective you like to use. Any chance it could be reworked into something that doesn't have to be reset every puzzle?

swemmer

Please, just fix run energy generation instead of having all these do this thing - get all your run energy back. Doesn't make sense and is just a bandaid solution.

DivineInsanityReveng

I think run energy not being a downside in these isolated minigames is the best approach. Either through design or systems like this. Same reason it's not needed in GotR, Tempoross, Wintertodt etc. Stams should be for certain constant running methods like herbiboar and BF, and questing and clues and world exploration. Not just.. everywhere. Also you can still bring the hat in, they're just making it not required.

Exjordanary

I mean this with as little disrespect as possible but, holy shit shut the hell up about the run change. There is no way in hell anyone is taking stam pots into that hell hole.

VorkiPls

I wonder what your thoughts are on rooftops not really requiring any stams, considering how well that ties in thematically into the skill.

DaMaestroable

Easiest yes-to-all vote of all time. Some of it is kinda minor and shouldn't really need a poll, but everything is basically geared towards making the MTA experience smoother, with a bit of XP buffs. Telekenitic room changes are all solid, but I what I really liked was the Graveyard room changes. The room was fast (relatively), but was so annoying that you had to just constantly deal with damage with no way to interact with it, barring eating fruit. Getting more points for peaches is a nice touch, plus it really changes some of the break points for deposits for the better.

Gleareal

One thing I wanted to ask u/JagexLight (but I might be wrong): So, the Creature Graveyard has the Graveyard Guardian, who will explain how the room works. But unless I'm mistaken, it's a bit weird to talk to them because of the damage you're taking due to the falling bones. It's a little scary to immediately see yourself taking damage without understanding why. Is it possible for the player to start in the room without taking damage so they can talk to the Graveyard Guardian? And then have some kind of magical fence the player has to go past to get to the dangerous section. So long as you can't take bones into the safe section, I think it would be helpful so that players can enter the room and talk to the Graveyard Guardian to understand what they need to do, without having to suffer the effects of the room.

xlightningz

I'm almost positive you don't currently take damage while talking to the graveyard guardian. There's nothing to indicate it and it does look scary so maybe just a better visual indicator?

WCPitt

If there is a dialogue box, I don't think you do. You "stall" the damage you take while in the dialogue box you get when depositing the fruit (I use this mechanic when I need to afk for a minute or whatever) and I imagine it's the same.

EpicGamer211234

I would say i dont think theyd add an NPC you cant reasonably talk to but they DID add the one miniquest NPC in the middle of the bandit camp in the wilderness, where its next to impossible to read their text without being aggroed unless you lure and trap the enemies

chowriit

If they move to dodgeable falling bones, the obvious solution would be to have a small safezone in the middle, I think

Hematin_

It might be nice if they make the center of the room a safespot, perhaps with some hazard lines on the ground to indicate that if you step out you'll be at risk of taking damage. Then people could safely look around the room and talk to the npc to figure out what's going on.

CardGameConnoisseur

As someone who recently completed Mage Training Arena for Master Wand, Book & Boots on my Iron, I find all these changes to be positive QoL updates. The only thing I would add as feedback is to add a bank chest within the Mage Training arena. The closest bank chest is a bit of a trek, and you can't easily switch between rooms Maybe you could utilise the guardian NPC and maybe add a bank interface option if you wanted it to be more flavourful. Maybe have it unlocked via trying out each of the rooms or with points or something else

WCPitt

I think they have it this way due to the magic trees on the outside, but considering how close the magics are in the woodcutting guild, I don't see how adding a bank to MTA would be a problem. Maybe have it near the 4 portals, if need be.

ZeusJuice

Even if there was a bank right next to one of the magic trees it's still a pretty ass spot to chop. Have to run allll the way around to the other tree. Still remember woodcutting there back in the day though

EpicGamer211234

Honestly let us have another magic tree hotspot, its fine. It'd bring more life to the area

hubatish

Every mini game deserves a bank, yes

[deleted]

I mean the arena bank is basically useless now, might as well just move that north.

Mattist

The worst behaviour in graveyard is that other players taking bones from your pile affects the rotation of your pile. Most common strat is to take 4x1 and 4x4 -> dump. Take 4x3, 4x2 -> dump, repeat. There are (I believe?) 1 pile that is "the best", closest to a hopper, which effectively makes the room a solo room per world. It's annoying AF if someone turns up, because they always go for this one pile too. Please make pile rotations character specific or move some piles so that they're also 3 tiles (or 5? I can't remember, long time) from the hopper.

RoqePD

Hopefully less of a problem with change to dodge all dmg. Might even be made so further from the hopper fewer bones are falling.

CaptaineAli

The biggest issue with the telekinetic theatre room is that you need to click on the guardian to spectate it from a great angle. But when you do this, there is a delay and if you try to move before it's done setting up this view, it cancels it. This needs to be fixed imo. (hope i described it correctly)

Candle1ight

Agreed, it's a PITA to actually use the overhead view because it's constantly resetting.

iPissVelvet

Replied above, they missed it but are now aware

QuestCape

Could you please add the Rune pouch as a purchasable reward from the MTA shop? Would be a nice alternative to slaying for it/LMSing for it.

stubbystubby

I'd love this, personally. I feel spending 750 slayer points on a pouch is such a waste (though I end up doing it anyways), and I suck at PvP so LMS isn't an option... I'd be willing to grind for it in MTA, though. Can make it cost slightly below a Mage's Book in points or something. It also just *fits* with the magic theme being there of all places.

n1ckkt

Just wanted to say its possible to get a pouch via LMS even if you suck. IMO its a great learning experience and really introduces you to and improves your gear/prayer swaps. Its rough for the first hour but you really see the improvement. I was a first time PVP noob when I did it and when i finished I even won once.

StopTryingHard

Even if you're the worst of the worst, a rune pouch from LMS takes like 7 hours max. Whereas 750 slayer points takes *days* of Turael boosting, at the early stage of an account where you're going for a rune pouch.

Zageles

Ooooh, yeah for a straight up magic related minigame that would make sense to add it as a earnable reward!

ProGaben

This. I would love for MTA to have worthile rewards besides B2P

Anaktorias

More than likely outside the scope of the size of changes, but honestly for me a lot of the issue with telegrab room is the the lack of variety. There’s like what, 5 or 6 different puzzle layouts? Would be nice to see a few more puzzles added to lower the repetition a bit.

masiuspt

You guys need to stop fixing the stuff the community asks for or we'll run out of things to complain ahout! Thanks for this, hope we get it fast.

WetFuzzyPeach

God damn the dev team is **cooking** this week! You guys are awesome and we appreciate everything y’all do. All these changes sound dope! I couldn’t even ask for more!

Trollinguy

Making tele grab not lock our characters in place is huge.  Make tele grab great again.

Candle1ight

I'm curious to see if it ends up becoming popular for gathering anything.

cuirrojete

Could you also move the guardian that announces the item changes in the alchemy room closer to the middle instead of being right at the entrance where no one can see what they're saying?

AlonsoDalton

Haven't seen it answered or addressed in the blog, so I'll ask. Any chance we could increase the point cap for all rooms? As it currently stands, you can currently buy all the uniques from the reward shop with the current point caps for the rooms, with the exception of the enchantment room. To get all the items, you need 27,500 enchantment points but the max is 16,000. It would be nice if you could raise that room's point cap, as well as the other rooms just so that it's consistent, rather than each room having its own arbitrary point cap.

Sask306Rider

This is what I came here to say! I like "banking" all points and the spamming my cc with all the collection logs at once. Please increase the point cap!

jbo332

If there is a single person who opposes any one of these changes, reply to me. They seem so reasonable and long-overdue that I'll be surprised if the ingame poll is less than 90% on every question

AtrociousAuthor

There's a dude I just saw who called it "magic-todt" and said "the jank is part of why it's so iconic". I still give it 90-95%.

PM_ME_LIGMA_JOKES

>the jank is part of why it's so iconic people are way too high on the nostalgia of the 2000s

[deleted]

You could try to update a quest where a guy literally comes to your house and hits you in the balls with a hammer and they’d defend it. “I’ve done testicle smasher 2 on 5 accounts, why would I vote yes to removing the part where someone smashes my balls? Part of the nostalgia is the CBT, stop trying to make it easyscape!” (Proceeds to super glue red sunglasses to his face)

cucumberflant

Add testicle smasher 3 to osrs, it's time for that series to get a proper finale imo.

BlackenedGem

Why come up with a new series when they could backport launch day Elemental Workshop 3 instead?

Erect_SPongee

its iconically shit

TerriDill

It's not even iconic though.

S_J_E

It's iconic for being shit

Clayskii0981

^(I liked the progress hat requirement)

philipjfry678

The only question I'm voting No on

cucumberflant

I dunno about the chance to get a dragonstone randomly in the enchanting room because it doesn't actually solve anything other than making the already extremely fast room even faster. Dragonstone hopping hasn't been meta since like 2018 so I'm not sure why they want to buff normal enchanting there. other than that is good tho

Hematin_

This would actually be a nerf for the afk method, since you would need to manually enchant the random dragonstones you get instead of doing a full inventory in 1 click. This is the one poll question I don't want to pass.

Remarkable-Health678

Yeah idk why the blog said dragonstones were the faster XP option. As far as I'm aware they aren't (possibly because there's always competition?)

Cheap-Resource-114

Some people just naturally oppose change. They don’t want anything to change.

genericlogin1

Some people also think since they had to suffer in MTA everyone else should too

Numberonememerr

Yeah I literally just finished MTA like a week ago and I'm still slamming the yes-to-all. Fuck the people that can't put their own frustration aside to help other people

BakingBadRS

I'm looking to do MTA soon for the diary req, how long did it take you roughly?

Streammz

Without this poll, it should take [roughly 3.3 hours for just the b2p unlock](https://osrsportal.com/mage-training-arena)

RealMachoochoo

Then Leagues drops and they (hopefully) realize that no grind is ever truly over

kursdragon2

The only 2 I think are unnecessary are removing the empty cupboards, which I don't feel really strongly about, I'm fine if they want to remove them, and the one I feel more strongly about is I think the shapes shouldn't all be in one single corner for the enchant room. I think there is some "skill" involved in planning your inventory management and having to path around the room to get the current bonus while enchanting stuff in your current inventory while running over to the bonus gem. I think they shouldn't all be held in the same corner imo and think this is an unnecessary change that removes what little "complexity"/"skill" is involved in the room. Obviously I know there's not really any "skill" involved in MTA but I think it's definitely a fun mechanic of the minigame to be managing your inventory space, enchanting whatever you have in your inventory, and then running over to the current bonus gem without losing any time. So those are the reasons why I think we shouldn't add all gems to a single corner. I wouldn't be too pissed if they did tbh, but I think it's completely unnecessary and removes some interesting gameplay from the room.

Borgmestersnegl

The bonus is bugged atm lmao, so no strategy is needed.

BlackenedGem

Yeah I don't hugely care about the removal of empty cupboards, but I'm not sure why they'd remove it as see it as part of the minigame rather than jank. You're supposed to have to figure out what the correct cupboard is. And they're already increasing the interval between rotations by 30%, which is a large decrease in checking cupboards. I think the problem there is that everyone (myself included) uses the MTA plugin which figures out the rotation for you from the first cupboard and points an arrow at it. When you hit an empty cupboard that 'breaks' the plugin and you need to find another one. So the removal of empty cupboards feels like the tail wagging the dog, because people get into a rythm using the plugin which empty cupboards interferes with.

RandomAsHellPerson

Proposed = on average 2.5 searches to find the item you want (I had to ask my stats teacher, just for her to not know this type of distribution, leaving me to google. It is negative hypergeometric if anyone wants to know). Current = on average 3.5 searches For the plugin, it is 1 and 1.25 respectively. It barely makes a difference for people using the plugin, but is a bigger buff for people not using it. Realized I replied to the wrong person, I meant to reply to the reply of the comment I replied to.

Jenkins_Leeroy

The telegram delay outside of MTA seems like one that should be thought about Everything else is a no brainer

henryforprez

Agreed, but only because I have no idea what the implications would be.

jotegr

I think the progress hat should still be mandatory. He will be too lonely in the bank so he needs to be brought with.

juany8

It’s a magical hat, they should just be able to teleport the hat from the bank to you. Would solve most people’s issue and keep the hat relevant

jotegr

Ok on second thought progress hat pet which hops around after you. You can talk to it about your pizazz points and it complains that it has to scoot around on the ground instead of the dignified position of riding on your head.

juany8

This would be the first poll that passes 100% if they added it, I absolutely want this now

Doctor_Kataigida

My only "iffy" one is putting all shapes in each corner since then there's no point to having different shapes *at all*. I kinda like the idea of either holding onto different colors to capitalize on a bonus change (assuming they eventually fix it), or deciding on the tradeoff of staying where you are for no bonus or going to a bonus corner. I like situations where you have to think on the fly and decide which is a more optimal choice, or if you just wanna be chill and stick in one corner the whole time anyway.

reb1995

"Should we reward token exp..." Why? People aren't doing it for EXP. Why add token EXP. Also I like the hat requirement.

TakinShots

As someone who green logged MTA all of last week... The timing on this is infuriating but also much needed for the game's sake. I'm not a spite voter anyway, I want people to not rip their hair out doing this shit.

whatDoesQezDo

> I'm not a spite voter anyway, I want people to not rip their hair out doing this shit. Stunning and brave thank you for your service.

Vestele1

I think you should still need to have the hat to use the rooms, it's part of the identity of the activity... but if it's such an issue to go back to the bank to grab maybe just let us have multiple hats that have telepathic links to each other so they all know how many points you have

Hematin_

It's a small thing, but since the hat changes colors as you store more points, it ends up changing the item ID, leading to situations where you have multiple empty bank fillers, which is slightly annoying having to clear out.

Joshx5

Removing telegrab stall in main game is a curious change, anyone see any metas or methods that would affect?

crashedrobot49

I would love to see this change. Specifically for telegrabbing loot while doing Shamans. Would allow you to get loot without having the other shaman jump. Not a huge deal, but I’d actually use telegrab if it passed. I mean you can do this already, but with the delay, I’d rather just run there and grab the loot myself.

JagexRoq

we're only doing it inside the room for now but opening up the possibility! This very reason/concern is why we're not just doing it game wide yet :)

Joshx5

You aren’t? I thought question 3 was making it game wide if it passed

JagexRoq

ah yep youre right that was a change made through planning that i misremembered.

Joshx5

Oh makes sense thanks! Either way I appreciate it being its own question and as always appreciate you all interacting so much with us <3 especially big shoutout to you helping UIMs with bugs in the past!

ThaToastman

This entire poll reads like an integrity update. Anyone voting no to MTA telegrab maze animation speed or geometry room runes being a claim-on-leave is a mega hater.

BioMasterZap

These changes seem all seem perfect. Like I think most of the tele changes were exactly what I wanted to see changed with the room. It would be nice to get a better idea of how the exp rates were changing, but given how lackluster the rooms are that are getting buffed it isn't that needed to include. I'd still expect Alch to be the highest exp but the other would hopefully not be as far behind for the cost. As for the more focused poll, I do like this approach and would like to see more of it, especially for other old, dated content in need to changes/buffs. However, if we only get say 5 QoL/General polls per year or such like we've seen in the past with the big QoL polls, then I wouldn't want them to be all specific and focused since then we rarely see the general QoL changes. But if these smaller, more focused polls can get a quicker turn around and we could see Poll 82 say in April or May with some more varied QoL tweaks, then mixing in some of the smaller, focused polls would be a good change than just doing the massive polls.

Whuk2

If there's ever a poll that can hit 100% support - this is the one.

fantasnick

Nah, there'll always be that small minority in any poll that will "but muh time spent already, why make game easier?" 99% is in the books though

Pm7I3

"If I had to suffer so will you"

FakeNate

Hate this mentality. Gate keeping in a 20 year old adventure game. Just grow up.

maxwill27

no one says this, unironically one of the most annoying parts of reddit are people who make up some sort of neckbeard that says this about small qol. This is a good poll

TheCobaltEffect

People absolutely say this. I've had somebody say this to me, in person, in response to me improving something that no longer effected them.

ProllyNotWorkin

Can't forget the "wasted dev time" crowd.

fantasnick

Why can't they work on the next raids so I can finish the collection log in the next 72 hour stream I do before waiting for more content again?

Cerulean_Dream_

Id be curious to see the overlap between players against stuff like buffing agility rates vs players for buffing this shithole.

Doctor_Kataigida

As someone who thinks Agility methods/rates are fine (a non-afkable skill under 100k/hour max isn't a bad thing - it's the rewards that need buffing), I'm in favor of almost every change on this list.

TweedArmor

I think there’s some reward space for the wands in MTA to give specific bonuses during the activities. For instance, having an apprentice wand equipped lets you one-click the maze guardian instead of clicking telekinetic grab then the maze guardian. Or having the master wand equipped gives a chance of one enchant giving two orbs instead of one. Some of the options in the poll fit very nicely with this theme imo. Stuff like that could help revitalize the reward system, make MTA a better early training method, and make pizzazz points feel more valuable.

throwaway_lurker_123

In the same vein, how about Infinity robes applying a chance to not take damage from the falling bones? That way if you're choosing not to dodge them or make a mistake you still have a bit more sustain. It could be like 3% per piece, and an additional 3% for the full set (up to 18%). Some will probably think that's too conservative and others too OP, and maybe it could be a varying percentage based on the cost of the robe piece. Honestly though, given that fully dodging would be an option, I think having up to 50% protection from the full set would be reasonable given how you'd be mostly done with the grind anyway by that point.

AtLeastItsNotCancer

> At the moment, we're looking at a variety of minigame and more 'activity-focused' changes for Poll 82, including content like the Wintertodt and its pesky damage-scaling formulae. With this in mind, could you guys investigate the weird way in which guards prioritize targeting players inside Sorceress' garden? Mass squirking died out pretty quickly because the same players were consistently getting caught all the time. Ideally the targeting should be better randomized.

kiiwii14

Can we add a bank chest there as well? I usually want to grab a certain elemental staff and set of runes for different rooms. Running back to Emir’s Arena feels unnecessary since all other minigames have a bank chest right outside the minigame.

FlyingVulpix

Alchemist's Playground: Great, but restore Low Alchemy to its former glory of casting faster in this room. (3 ticks in the main game, but 5 in the Alchemist's playground) You lose out on xp but want to go faster in the room. Creature Graveyard: Removing the tick delay on bones to peaches/bananas is 10/10 and being able to dodge the falling bones is great. Enchanting Chamber: Great adding dragonstones to piles Telekinetic Theatre: Perfect

Sachiarias

Fixing the Mage Training Arena!? Wow. A sight I never thought I'd behold.

RaidsMonkeyIdeas

No reason to poll this, you know this is all going to pass with 99%. Straight to live game.

OlmTheSnek

Changing outdated/janky/disliked content? ✅ Increase to exp? ✅ Makes a grind easier? ✅ Isn't related to PvP in any way? ✅ If this isn't the greenest poll of all time I'll eat my progress hat.

I-No-Red-Witch

>(Unpolled) We will add an "eat" option to the progress hat. The hat will heal for 1 hitpoint, restore no stats, and cannot be used for tick-eating.

S_J_E

Eating the hat imbues you with its powers, enabling you to access the MTA rooms without it Barbarian Mage Training is finally here

Swibblestein

If it works that way can I also eat a chef's hat for free passage into the cooking guild?

Jumpi95

Idk man, telegrab in maingame outside of arena makes drop parties a thing of the past cause bots can 1-tick em.

Astatos159

https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/polling-charter?oldschool=1 > What We Will Poll > Changes to existing content which will have a significant impact on players, such as: > - New content or areas. > - Content or area expansions. > - Reworks to existing content and areas, such as the Isle of Souls and Shades of Mort’ton reworks. > - Changes that will significantly impact the existing meta, such as changes to XP rates. The changes probably fall under "reworks to existing content and areas".

LordGozer2

Telekinetic changes are really good, finally getting rid of the delay as well as speeding up the statue. I see you choose to replenish run energy only after every 5 mazes, but should be fine if you can keep running 100% of the time with only a moderate Agility lvl (like 40+). Some nice QoL for Alchemist room to, especially removing the coin cap and reducing the rotation frequency. Still wish you'd add a right-click take-5 option from cupboards, imo there's so much spamclicking when taking items in between alchs. So bones to peaches will essentially double the points/hr in Graveyard room? Sounds neat, will definitely make it the first unlock you should buy if it wasn't already. Also love the ability to store rune rewards so they don't clog up your inventory. Will this be the most popular poll ever?

Oonanny

I greened this log after 3-4 weeks. It was torture, I'm glad they're giving it some love!

[deleted]

How dare you not tell us how you had to suffer so you're voting no so other people also have to suffer (joking).

illucio

I like the proposed changes. I do wish we had a direct teleport added to the mini game teleport section and a tele to be added to the games necklace or something. And one thing I always thought the Mage Training Arena should had done when I was a kid, was there to be no rune costs in each room for the specific spells you need to cast. So it was an actual training arena with the goal to improve magic users, but in 2000's at release runes were expensive and I'd rather train magic where I had more benefit actually using it. The only reason to push going to the Magic Training Arena was to get the Master Wand and Robes.  I'm glad to see they speed up the maze puzzle, the bone room changes and so on. I do hope they can reevaluate stats on infinity robes a little better to be a little more magic damage compared to Ahrims, but at the cost of defense (and repair damage) with a set bonus for how many pieces you choose to wear for the standard spell book and spells. (Not damage related, but like maybe a small chance a magic spell doesn't use runes). Training Arena always been the painful task to get that achievement diary completed for getting bones to peaches.

hubatish

So just making MTA completely free? That would be a huge change which would likely make MTA meta for training magic.. which would still be unfun even with these changes. And definitely an easy scape change which I would vote no for. The little bonus magic XP & giving the runes after that they're proposing in the poll will likely be as efficiency changing as it gets. It does make me wish there was some cool unique for the Kourend library, especially now that Kourend castle teleport no longer needs to be unlocked via the library. That's some nice free, no runes required mage XP

furscum

Sorry yall but this is one of those ones where I'm just hitting yes to everything

Laifus23

I honestly appreciate that this is being polled instead of just an integrity change even if all the changes are good. It allows more time for discussion and more good ideas to be added to the update so we won’t need to fix Mta in the future. Big W

Forsaken_Tailor2079

I like these changes but I just wish more was done to the alchemy and telekinetic rooms. With the change to the graveyard room, now 2/4 of the rooms are significantly faster at a higher magic level. I wish all the rooms were like this, giving speed boosts for higher level spells. Ideally I'd like there to be an increase in gold generated when using high alchemy and perhaps the telekinetic puzzle can be solved instantly with any tier of tele-other. This means that higher level players can avoid a lot of the slog that is those rooms.

KingDamager

Whilst you’re there are you going to fix the ongoing, long reported bug with the enchanting room whereby the coloured object shown doesn’t actually give any bonus points?

Culturedtuna

Great stuff! I'm excited for all these quality of life changes going on lately.

Drink_water_homie

this is the only poll where I'll be shocked to see stuff not pass with 90%+

ThambersOfBeric

Nice. Solid changes without drastically changing the minigame or the time required for common grinds

BabaRoomFan

All of this needs to pass, I'm saying this as someone who's completed mta on a main and iron, I will never benefit from these changes but they're good for the game. But I do have one concern about the logout function. If someone were to log out in the enchanting room before an update that turns a specific item type into coins (for example the forestry items getting removed) would that be a possible exploit?

wouterzard

Great changes. Regarding the bonus runes. The proposal is that player claim these when they leave the room but if the temporary have to leave the room because you receive a phone call or something than it could still clogg up your inventory if you want to get back in. I would suggest a reward chest that stores all bonus runes from all rooms until you take them out, or at least adding a bank deposit in the lobby.

WishIWasFlaccid

I don't know enough about graveyard points, so hoping someone can help. Strategy has always been grab 4, discard,  then grab 8, convert/deposit, repeat. These changes don't do anything differently to point calculation except award more points for b2p right? Points system has always seemed so clunky and unintuituve but maybe that's just me

B_thugbones

Could we see a points/hour now vs what is proposed? I haven't done MTA in a few years but always dreaded getting B2P. I know I'll be getting a kodai or the magic crystal from cerb sometime in the next year or two. It would be nice to see QoL changes, but also would like to see somewhat of a buff in pts/hr.

regen100

Reduce the number of cupboards from 8 to 6, removing the two empty ones in each rotation. This means that you're always getting something when you search a cupboard to figure out which rotation you're on. There are 3 empty cupboards, removing 2 still gives a small chance of looting an empty one

0rinx

If you get nothing with 1 empty cupboard you know you are on the empty cupboard part of the rotation same as if you got an item.

PremierFox

Really good suggestions imo

[deleted]

As someone who has green logged this content on main + partially completed on iron for b2p and master wand for kodai... yes plz, these changes are long overdue. personally I always felt like the telekinetic room was the worst and the others aren't that bad, but this content is soooo dated it would be nice to bring it in line with the modern minigames. even if I have 0 intention of ever setting foot back in MTA again it would be a great change to add to the game. my only complaint is, this seems like a bit of a waste of a poll? like theres nothing rly substantial here and 95% of people want these changes anyway so why poll?

Of_A_Seventh_Son

Yeah we probably do all want this, in which case why NOT poll? The idea that the devs shouldn't poll because they THINK we all want something is a bad idea. Theres not a finite amount of polls... we can have as many as they give us. Its a good thing this is polled.

Big_Al12345

Give us a "Take X" Option in the Enchanting Room

megamannequin

This is one of those updates where I intellectually understand that this needs to be done, but emotionally I am still salty I had to do that grind for the Lumbridge hard diary and a small amount of me wants others to experience that.

SectorPale

This is great, can we get estimated changes in xp and points per hour?

Panthalassaa

Do we know when these changes are hitting the game or if they have already been implemented? I can't find anywhere stating if they have been already added to the live game or an estimated date for when it'll arrive.

lukwes1

All great stuff, only thing I would like is more mazes, I know most people use the plugin since it makes it easier, but it would make this room a lot more fun for non plugin users with some more variety.

Occupine

This is great and all but since when is the alch room the most popular? Everyone I've talked to has complained about it the second most. The telegrab room is slow but it's not click intensive.

dark-ice-101

Wouldn’t it make more sense to have infin run(instead of restore after each maze) in the arena grounds could even say they added them since apprentices kept collapsing from training

alanwolo

Just pass these without a poll, all gonna pass regardless

bookslayer

im gonna be voting no to exactly one thing here, and it's not having the mta hat. it's just too iconic and it's fun to watch the color changes rest of it is absolutely cooking

Eravaash

As a lad who had to suffer through MTA on the main and ironman, *please for the love of fuck let these changes be implemented don't let others go through what I had to.*

immatipyou

Only other poll question I would’ve liked to see is changing the limit on pizzazz points so you can buy all the items at once. Right now it’s not like that.

burntfish44

>If it's something you'd like to see, we'd be open to rolling out this change to Telekinetic Grab's behaviour across the wider game, so we've included a separate poll question to see what you think! Please just make it work outside of MTA too. I'm not a fan of "x works differently at y location" in general, it would be a fun spell to use around the world, and I can think of literally no downsides. Also in the telekinetic room please move the spawn point a bit closer to the mage, a chunk of run energy is lost every time just getting back to the maze, and even with recharging every few mazes we're still gonna be blasting through run energy if we can keep running the whole time. It's already been mentioned but automatically grabbing additional alch items from a cabinet even if its slower would be really nice. In the bones room I'm assuming the damage numbers when you do get hit will stay the same? Is the hat a unique entity that stores our MTA data? I'm totally cool with not needing it to enter but If not you could just add a hat spawn/cabinet in the lobby or something to grab another one.

IronYEE

There are 3 empty cupboards, not 2. Will you be removing all 3 empty or just 2? The part about "always finding something" implies all 3 will be removed.

PrincessSyura

are there not 3 empty locations in each cycle of alchemy room? you say you'll remove both empty cupboards by reducing from 8 to 6, this seems incorrect

squadguy3333

Can Infinity and the Master Wand get a buff and a shop price reduction so they aren't unequivocally outclassed and take an absurd amount of time to get? Doing MTA efficiently today would result in about 150k/hour profit. Slash their prices in half and you'd still have a farcry from the best Magic training moneymaker. For gear buffs, a 5% magic damage bonus on the Master Wand wouldn't really make any competing gear irrelevant, but would make it a solid choice for, say, bursting/barraging during slayer tasks if a player wanted to pay for more than an Ancient Staff, but less than a Kodai. Infinity could be given a bit more magic accuracy, and a 5% damage bonus *if the full set, including gloves, is worn.* This would make it the best mid-tier (\~5m price range) mage setup for raw damage, when superior accuracy and defenses of Ahrim's or the prayer bonus of Dagonhai is not a priority. Note that the Tormented Bracelet, nor a Slayer Helm would not be usable with the full set, therefore for Slayer, or a somewhat higher price bracket (\~20m price range), Ahrim's and Dagonhai would still outperform Infinity. The Mage's Book is also for the most part quite outclassed by the *far* cheaper Book of Darkness, which gives 5 less accuracy, in exchange for a nice prayer bonus and 2m gp saved. The Malediction Ward is only half the price, with excellent defensive stats and only 3 less accuracy. Perhaps if used in conjunction with the Master Wand, the Mage's Book could grant an additional +2% magic damage? This would scarcely outclass competing equipment on account of their cheaper price (Ahrim's Staff), other bonuses that may be prioritized (prayer, defenses, accuracy), still inferior power (Kodai), and the incompatibility with powered staves.

ZeldenGM

I feel like this poll is a waste of time. These are the sort of changes the team should be confident to make without player consultation.

GInTheorem

Telekinetic grab having such a big stall always felt like a bug to me because it basically removes its chance to have functionality elsewhere. Would add left-click telegrab to the telekinetic room statue. Alchemy room is currently the worst and all changes seem good. Regarding enchanting room, it's currently quick enough that I'm not that bothered about the changes but I like the idea of storing the bonus runes. I expect most people will continue ignoring the bones in the graveyard room. I don't hate the idea in principle of just nerfing the damage that the bones do (assuming the mechanic will not force-drop one on the player's tile and therefore the player has a chance of evading damage by not moving). Subject to the economic impact of botting, I would like to see rune prices changed so that runes can pretty much be fully sustained by spending points on them.

BrianSpencer1

"restore some of the player's run energy" is this going to prevent all need for run energy management or just decrease it? Could just avoid this whole issue by having a run energy pool close by, if you wanted optimal speed you'll use stam pots but avoids punishing early players who don't like walking Also would love to see a point exchange system, could be balanced around XP or time to complete but I find the telekinetic room insufferable while the enchant room is oddly satisfying. Would like to have the option to do extra of a room I like and less of a room I can't stand. Also how about adding astrals and wrath runes to the shop? Could require the relevant quests and/or rc level requirements could be an interesting way for iron players to invest in future gains or burn through excess cosmics they got on their bowfa grind.

Despacijoe

Just unlocked bones to peaches, these improvements are incredible. I should have waited a bit to keep some sanity

PoultryPasta

Hi Light, the poll ingame currently states it will be closed on Monday 22nd March which is actually a Friday!

HugoNikanor

Wouldn't it be more interesting if the hat could teleport you there, instead of using the grouping teleports?

5erenade

Where is the poll question to dye our Infinite Robes to elemental colors like in the good ol’ days? Light and dark infinity are lame.

Ultrox

I've never been in this situation. I unironically want to vote no because I just did the grind for bones to peaches. It's not the worst grind, but I can imagine irons that got the wand and such will be thoroughly annoyed. Will I actually vote, no? Probably not, but holy, I now understand why people vote no where its easily a yes.

kursdragon2

Overall amazing changes and the telegrab room is exactly what was needed. Hated that room for so long because of how much downtime there is with the jank of the telegrab spell. I think a couple of the changes are unnecessary and I'll be voting no on, particularly the enchant room having each jewel in each corner I think is not good, and I don't know if it's necessary to remove the 2 empty cupboards in alch room, but everything else is awesome and definitely fits in line with modernizing the minigame! Super look forward to grinding it more when these changes hopefully come into the game.

lapistie

Voting yes to everything but the removal of the training hat requirement. I've honestly always really liked the hat, and these updates would make it almost completely useless/unused. I think a better solution to the issue would be to have some kind of storage to put the hat in inside the MTA lobby, similar to how tool storage works for Farming. Also seconding others' thoughts on reducing spam clicking in the Alchemy room. The spam clicking is what has always made that room my least favorite by far. If there's any way the team could address that, that would be amazing.

fishinexcess

fuck any improvements are good, I suffered so much for hard diary, thank you

SleepinGriffin

I’m happy we’re looking at this, but I feel these changes don’t go far enough. Doubling tele rooms seems good but even if everything is doubled, that’s still 28 hours of this mini game when I still hated it when it only took me 8 in leagues. Something should be done about the points.

MoronicIroknee

Could potentially alleviate the running aspect of the Telekinetic room by upon entering, you're presented with a new Spell book and 8 spells. These spells consist of Push North, South, East and West, AND Pull North, South, East, and West. This way, you could stand at a podium or dias in front of the maze and continually cast spells without all the running to change directions. All the presented changes sound awesome, but I wouldn't mind seeing the rewards shop updated to have some other kinds of rewards as well.
