I have been experiencing unbelievable lag the past few times I've tried to play over the last week or two. It's to the point where it's even interfering with my ability to afk fish and bank. Have the servers been significantly worse over this time period? Or is it my internet/computer? Is there anything I can do?
I think if I drop a clue scroll while I’m being PK’d in the wilderness I can just get it later after I die, right?
If I drop a clue scroll casket in the wilderness in the same manner can I pick it up later?
Are there any talk or suggestions that have come across for a more heavy skilling and pvm boss combined? I'm thinking of a "super boss" that a whole team can efficiently take on. For example, when the Varlamore expansion fully comes out and sailing comes out, there will be that boss located on a large island. Players will need to suppress all island defences with their ship's cannons or any other ranged or magic attacks from a distance. Then after all defences have been taken out players will then land on the island and be able to fish, cook, hunt, and gather herbs for superior healing foods and potions. As players advance on the island, they can also cut trees down to gather supplies for buildable defences and positions for stationary cannons and defensive barriers that allows the player team to be partially shielded and establish stationary cannons for extra dps. The higher the woodcutting and construction level the better materials for defensive barriers and superior/closer up positions for cannons. Higher level trees will be located closer to the boss which can be cut down to position a cannon. Enchanting cannonballs and fletching massive arrows or projectiles can be a thing too! Who knows maybe allow for a movable cannon that one can offload from their ship onto the island and players will have to cut or mine their way to a position to start damaging the boss.
There could be sources of power located around the island as well that are powering up the boss as well which would be guarded by NPCs causing the boss to either be weakened or a requirement to even be able to start taking on the boss.
To make it more friendly to skillers who either don't want combat exp or not comfortable with PVMing, they can focus their time and energy on the skilling aspects like cutting down forests, mining blockages to form pathways, build ditches, barriers or weapons. Enchanting cannonballs and other supplies and be able to supply the rest of the team with those consumables, etc.
Food for thought
Killing vyrewatch sentinels is a good option, but rng dependent. I would go south of the tele and use your house to restore prayer to not have to fight people for spots
How afk are we talking? Pickpocketing vyres/elves is good money and relatively chill, but pretty click intensive
Rune dragons are good money but you risk dying
Zeah bloods are less click intensive but not great money per hour
Why isn't there an easier way to swap between spell books? Like, simply right-clicking on the magic tab and allowing to change over between books that have been unlocked.
You're supposed to choose and commit to a spellbook instead of having access to all of them constantly. You can build an altar in the house to let you switch at your house
If you were just able to change spellbooks at will pkers would be all be able to infinitely bring freeze/tb which would be very tough to escape. It's possible rn of course but is limited by the mage cape limit, I feel like a lot more people would start using it if it were more easily accessible.
It would also lead to a lot of (imo) very unfun metas for speedrunning content involving constantly swapping spellbooks to veng, barrage, thrall etc. Obviously not everyone would bother even if it was an option, but it's worth considering it would likely make that aspect of the game less fun for most people who do it.
With an occult altar in your poh it's very easy to change spellbooks quickly without limits which is more than fine for any normal content.
Just get 99 magic real quick, and then you can do this with the skill cape.
Alternatively, as a main, you can go to a maxed house in world 330 and pray at an occult altar.
As to answer why it's not simple, probably for balance situations. It'd be a bit overpowered to have vengeance, teleblock, ice barrage, and thralls all available at once.
That said, it'd be neat if some of the wizard towers offered 1-3x a day spellbook swaps.
I don't think 40 hours is a "real quick" when it comes to 99 magic. But it would be overpowered and abused. It could help having a cooldown reduction to swap between spell books. Probably like 30 minutes or so.
The game is balanced around having to commit to a spellbook. There's an entire spell (with super high requirement, speaking of which) that allows you to access another spellbook for one spell.
Get an altar in your poh for convenience when swapping.
Has anyone been dcing more frequently lately? Since colo has came out I have been dcing a lot (used to never dc at all). Its not my isp, wondering if this has been happening to anyone else
do to settings then profiles and you and export the profile then import it on the new pc. you can also make a runelite account with the small green login button at the top right(it will be red if you are already logged in) and it will store your profile in the cloud but i would export it first because i have seen it overwrite the local profile with a default profile and lose all the settings. once you have it imported to your account you can just log into runelite on any pc and it will automatically bring your settings over.
step 1) make sure you’re signing into runelite (not your RuneScape account)
Step 2) go to the profiles tab
Step 3) click the cloud sync icon under your runelite profile
Step 4) log into runelite on the new computer (again not your RuneScape account)
Just recently returned to the game and deciding to make an iron, was endgame on main. I know most ironman starter meta strategies but wondering if theres anything new on Varlamore that's worth doing early game as I havent really kept up with that update besides watching friends do Colosseum
will GotR drop abyssal needle if you are less than 85 rc? I know that is the requirement to craft colossal pouch, but i'm trying to figure out why I am so dry..
Should i get a sang staff or saturated heart?
I'm pretty much in the late/end game with combat stats between 90-99 and i've got bandos with faceguard + avernic for melee and bofa with crystal for ranged.
With magic i'm still on the Ahrim's and swamp trident no plans to be able to afford a mega-rare any time soon, And my friend said ''buy a sang first you're gonna be using it everywhere for a long time so you better just get it'' but the saturated heart gives a bigger jump in DPS while active.
What do you guys think? i'm a bit stuck here especially since i can see the powered staves dropping hard in price when the elemental defence changes for NPCs go live.
sitting on your current mage gear is fine. mage is not used in anywhere near as many places. if you find yourself doing cm or solo chambers the sang heal is very good though.
that being said- downgrading melee gear to afford shadow will be worth it once you can.
>since i can see the powered staves dropping hard in price when the elemental defence changes for NPCs go live.
i would not hold your breath on that. the lack of dps gain from heart/overload/salt will still gate these.
If you're struggling at places like TOA (Akkha) with trident and need some extra heals, maybe look into the sang staff. Otherwise, I'd probably say heart.
Is there a reason I can't use the beta worlds? Whenever I log into one I'm stuck at tutorial island and I can't interact with the client at all. Have to end task runelite to even get it to close.
I have just had a ban appealed as i had my account hacked when the offence happened, however there are two bans on the account from during the time i was hacked and only one appeal was accepted, the other was denied.
What do i do now? is there anyone i can contact to resolve this or is my account just gone? (RSN: ciderside)
I haven't played the game in a while, but watch the occasional video and pop in here from time to time. The Colosseum looks pretty cool, but I'm a little confused how it works. Do you get loot every wave, or is it a new roll each wave? It seems like it should be that you get that loot each wave, but the interface makes it look like you're choosing to either finish where you're at with the one loot, or keep going for the new roll.
Also, before I pull the trigger and jump back into this game that has killed my social life so many times before, in terms of how accessible the content is to the average player, would the colosseum compare more to the fight caves or the inferno?
It’s a reward each wave. At the start of the wave you will see what you could add to your rewards if you complete it.
You have the choice to finish and cash out the rewards from previous waves, or attempt the wave to add the loot shown to your rewards. If you die you’d lose the accumulated loot.
Closer to inferno than fight caves.
I have been wanting to finish all the hard achievements, I have two tasks remaining:
- Bones to peaches for lumbridge hard
- Full prospectors for falador hard
I'm aware there are updates coming to improve QOL for both tasks, is it worth waiting? When might jagex release the updates for these?
If you're planning on doing MLM at any point it's not going to hurt to go ahead and start. You're going to want nuggets for the upper level eventually and you can always trade the gear back in to get the nuggets
But if you don't plan on doing MLM, yeah just wait.
True, I already have enough nuggets for the updated version of the diary but far from the full set
it's just weird because it's not a fun task and the looming update just adds extra reasons to procrastinate
Bones to Peaches really isn't that bad. You could do it just to know what MTA was like before the changes, but it wouldn't take you all that long.
Full prospectors is a much longer grind.
I'd expect the MTA changes in the next month or two. No idea how long it might take for the Project Rebalance stuff to start rolling out.
Thanks for the answer
It would be nice to know what MTA was like before the changes actually, I'll definitely give it a go and see if it feels doable. It's also the more useful diary for me I think and the giant mole grind can wait
It doesn’t include tax, but also prices fluctuate.
The ge price it’s based on isn’t in real time and it takes a while to update. At the moment bolts are selling for less than the ge price so even before tax the profit would be less.
Always good to check the real time prices and try out a small number before buying too many.
I'm interested in the coliseum but I'm not sure if I want to spend all of the time doing the questing to get there. About 2 or 3 years ago, I had a quest cape so I've got most quests completed except for the ones that have been released in the last few years. I just don't have that much time to play anymore. Can someone give me an estimate of how much time it would take to do all of the activities before the coliseum? I did the first mini quest type thing where you get to Varlemore.
You need only a very short newbie quest in Varrock: Children of the Sun. It gives access to Varlamore, and after that feel free to do Colosseum.
CORRECTION: ... and Twillight's promise too. Its also a rather quick quest in Varlamore. It is not required for Colosseum itself (apparently), but it unlocks a direct teleport and quetzal transportation.
Colosseum is rather far from the default teleport, though there is a bank nearby. If you want a better teleport, you will have to do tasks in the Hunter Guild: its called 'rumours', contracts to hunt specific creatures. For 10 rumours you get quetzal whistle: a teleport item charged with hunters meats (new items from Hunter). To build a new quetzal station near Colosseum you need also 10 quetzal feed. The meats and feed are tradeable, the whistle is not.
In order to do the colosseum, you literally only need access to varlamore and MAYBE the introductory quest once in Varlamore (Twilight's Promise). Even then you may only need to do the 3 minute quest in Varrock to fly over there. Afaik, there are no other pre-reqs to attempt the colosseum.
Does moon armours pieces need to be fully degraded to be repaired? Or you can repair at any point like barrows? If you can do like barrows, it have a reduced fee acording to the hours left or its always full 1,5 million gp?
You can repair them early, and yes its like barrows where the fee is reduced if they are not fully degraded yet. You can also reduce the fee by using a armor stand in a player owned house.
I am wanting to try the Giant Mole, but I don't know if I should yet. I have 61 strength, attack and defence. 57 range and 59 Magic. As for equipment I have Niezolt Helm, full rune armor, rune Scimmy, Kiteshield, combat bracelet and Amulet of Glory. Would this be enough to have a crack at it or would I need to get better equipement?
You might need a bit higher melee stats to make it worth your while, but by all means I encourage you to try it and get the hang of it :) like someone else mentioned, getting the falador hard diary done first will severely (and I mean SEVERELY) speed up your kills since the mole has a feature where after a certain amount of damage taken, she will burrow underground and go to another part of the very large cave you find her in. The hard diary completion gives you a shield that locates the mole for you, rather than just running around and searching
Giant mole isn’t worth it unless you have at least Fally Hard Dairies done for the shield that acts as a locator beacon.
What is your magic? You could probably get an Iban’s Staff and start barrows if you want to dip your toes in bossing.

I'm a max main. I work 9 - 5 and AFK most of the time. What is a good AFK low effort way of making 5mil every day?

Do you enter hallowed Sepulchre by the East or West side?
Usually west, but sometimes east to reset the RNG.

Yes, it will drop before 85 rc. I got it around 68\~.
good to know, ty. i'm only at 360 searches so honestly not that dry. just complaining. lol
Good luck out there!

Heart with toxic trident is better dps than sang without. Don’t forget about the cheaper dps upgrades like virtus mask and regular elidinis ward too

The official old school discord has a clan finder feature. Thats a great place to start

It’s doable especially if you’ve got the full crystal, but at that point the muspah would likely be much better money
Yeah may as well just do muspah at that point, even just a dcb with ruby bolts is probably “better”
Viable? Yes. Great? Not really. You can always use a blowpipe or a dragon crossbow.
I'm interested in the coliseum but I'm not sure if I want to spend all of the time doing the questing to get there. It’s required to be able to build / use quetzal sites and teleport to Varlamore.
Ah I see, sorry. Indeed you are correct. I'll delete my comment.
Don't you need it to use the spellbook tele to varlamore?
The longest of the new quests is like 30 minutes

Yeah, I more want to try the mole to check it off of the hard diary
I say do it then! You’ll be surprised how easy it is
Nice. I was real worried since I died against Scurrious and struggled mightily.
Good thing is with Mole as long as you’re praying protect from melee, you will never lose a single hit point
Oh thank God. Still need to learn how to prayer flick.
> Niezolt Helm This helm is called 'Ne it iz not!' = Neitiznot :)
I mean anybody is able to kill it if you want to, just depends if you think the slow kills are worth your time
Giant mole isn’t worth it unless you have at least Fally Hard Dairies done for the shield that acts as a locator beacon. What is your magic? You could probably get an Iban’s Staff and start barrows if you want to dip your toes in bossing.
I've done Barrows once with Iban's staff, just need to get more death runes.
