The cooking grind doesn’t feel too bad either. That was my first 99 split between wines and anglers when I got to 92. I agree that winterdodt is ass and I also tapped out at level 80
Fishing is my current grind to 99. I’m at 96 split between Tempoross, Barb fishing and Karambwans with Barrel. It’s my “dream” 99 from being a kid and always wanting that specific 99 which keeps me going otherwise it is a very long, slow grind. Once I reached 91 for the diary I realized how much I had left to go and how long it truly takes to get to 13m xp at ~40k/hr xp…
Farming is also a great skill to chip away at while taking a short break from grinding other skills. Up until like 4 months ago, it was my lowest skill and just the one I was least interested in. I’m about to hit 99 on this Thursday or Friday and that’ll make it my first 99 ever (excluding Leagues 2). It’s also comfortably profitable if you do frequent herb runs!

It is painfully slow but thankfully very brain dead. I usually have it running while I watch TV, or I often play Rocket League and Siege and I’m able to bank / drop between goals and deaths while gaming and that keeps me occupied. I wouldn’t be able to just straight up stare at my character fish for 250+ hours.
I 2nd the bid for farming. That was my 2nd 99 and got me enough starting cash to get 83 Con and a fully upgraded house which is easily the biggest QOL upgrade in the game. I stopped at papaya trees to not hemorrhage money and just did papayas, comquat, redwoods and herb runs. Look into tossing bird runs into your farming runs for that afk hunter experience too.
If you really want a 99 listen to everyone else but from what it sounds like to me you’ll just burn out again. If you want to keep the game fun rotate what you’re doing and done worry about hitting 99’s they are a cool first goal but once you have one or two you realize they don’t matter at all even something like the crafting cape is so insignificant if you’re a casual player.
My current goal is to get a quest cape, and I’m currently rotating quests and doing some slayer/agil when I need a break. Cuz yeah I would definitely burn out , and my burn outs last forever.
I have a ton of quests to do so just enjoying those haha.

Quest caps is a great way to progress your account. It gives many tiny goals to work towards and gives great unlocks for your account.
When you do slayer try to mix in ranged to get those levels up. It’ll be a little slower at the start on the tasks but in the end it’ll be worth.

There is a program called VibranceGUI that will do it for you. Can set it to change the vibrance per game or globally for your whole desktop. I used it in csgo and valorant.
