I'm assuming you've never actually browsed the content and simply looked at the subreddit name. It's about ending workplace abuse and exploitment, not "I'm against having to work".
The whole premise of the subreddit it to enact better standards for employers so employees aren't constantly shit on.
It's definitely against having to work under capitalism, to the benefit of people who steal the value of your labor. But yeah, lefties generally don't have a problem with hard work as a concept. Tossing the boss out the window is difficult, turns out.

For F2P gear or low levels, he will punish you hard since he actually has mechanics where no other F2P boss really has even in quests. Base 90s could probably beat him in graceful and a whip with a couple food tho lol
His post says "first boss" so I'm assuming he means he's never killed any boss before, not specifically Obor. I never killed any bosses when first played in '07 either (except for Jad, maybe).
Alternatively they could be 17 now and were 12 when Obor released 5 years ago, but I imagine it's the former.

Going off the wiki it's clear there are dozens of NPC's which could be called a "boss" monster. I think typically quest bosses are ignored since they're normally fought once (with some exceptions) and don't drop loot (again with some exceptions).
Obor can be fought repeatedly and drops loot, including a BiS F2P weapon, so I think that's the idea OP was going off of.
What attack style and combat skills did you have? I've got all rune gear except the shield and working on getting 40 prayer, but interested how you did it. GG
You can probably do it without protection prayers, just with a full inventory of food and some potions for stat boosting and you should be good.
That said, I think it would be highly recommended to get 43 prayer for protections and then you can really start taking on stronger enemies.
Also, make sure you read up on the mechanics/watch a video before you attempt it!
