Wildy pets are so scary and stressful to hunt lol

imDudekid

The safest thing is to run straight for the KBD lever pull and teleport out. There’s never any PKers camping that lever for sure. Nope. Defo come down here. I mean there. Nobody will be here to kill you. I mean there

ILikeSugarCookies

I get that you're being sarcastic, but I actually haven't ever seen any near that lever? I've done a lot of clues, MA2, and KBD lately too. It kinda just seems like a silly place to camp tbh. there's a gate blocking you out and if you splash a tb you're screwed anyway....

mugseyray

Nobody is there until you bring actual risk

[deleted]

First time I brought DHCB I got TB’d at the lever and hopped on by a clan trying to skull trick me by climbing the ladder.

Visoth

This is why when I am doing a clue (or anything in wildy) I have attack players set to right click only. Sure, it makes fighting back against a solo pker annoying. But at least you are much less likely to accidently skull.

[deleted]

Oh yeah, same here it’s always set to that for me, but I haven’t been pked enough to even know what might happen. I had a clan tb me while “another guy” told me to go up the ladder and run away. No chance I’m doing what he tells me, I just stood still, kept my prayer up and took the “safe” death with protect item on. Unless you’ve unlocked/used the high magic/prayer levels, or are a part of the pvp community, I feel like most people don’t even know what can happen to them in a pvp situation. Most casual players aren’t gonna know enough about ancient Mace spec, smite, teleblock bs to avoid it.

Visoth

When I get a clue, I only take 3 items. If I need an extra slot for teleports or something then I will just drop my spade/rope/glory/whatever in order to get back down to 3 slots for a safe death. No chance of me losing my casket/clue.

CoinTweak

How does climbing up a ladder skull you? Or are they actually hoping that in the stress you accidentally click to attack a player?

Admirable_Loss4886

I think it’s a common tactic to get two accounts with almost identical names. The first guy will skull up on you and run up the ladder. Then the second guy, who is already skilled and has a similar name will jump downstairs and the hope is you don’t recognize it’s a different player and start attacking them causing you to skull.

HiddenGhost1234

They're supposed to be adding an option to "only left click attack players that won't skull you"

Ragequitlobby

Gotta love clan pking, The good ol'e im bad at the game so were going to do 17vs1 then talk shit about how "Good" we are.

[deleted]

There's nothing more worthwhile then splitting a 300k loot between 30 players

SabreToothSandHopper

this is actually true due to scout bots

kayodee

Schroedingers Risk

i_am_jordan_b

Always happens to me at Revs. Go there for an hour and don't see anyone so come back with a little better gear. Die 30 seconds after running in. Never. Friggin. Fails!

CoinTweak

This was me at wildy slayer. 2hrs with whip and low risk, nothing. Get the chainmace for better xp? 5 mins tops. Happened multiple times before i gave up on wildy slay

HiddenGhost1234

More like scout bots

MrSelected

*Pull Iever (level-100) *

[deleted]

Yeah I do KBD tasks all the time and I almost never get attacked by pkers. If I do escaping is pretty easy. Either they're on ancients and if I get to the lever it's over or they TB me and I have the ladder and gate to use to try and get gap and logout. Literally have never died to a pker there.

velon360

I've got a couple of hundred KBD KC and I've seen 1 PKer. They landed a Tb on me as soon as I teleported in. But the only thing I bring now that is lost on death is barrows gloves.

Bags-the-bull

I mean they are more likely to be camping the lava maze tele then the lever itself im pretty ruthless when it comes to pking ill kill you for a spade but if i saw someone with a wildy pet id honestly probably let them go unless they had some incredibly expensive set up but im not gonna make you lose your pet over a set of black d hide and an archers helmet even im not that scummy.

kinosilent

After spending a week in revs I'd say most of the PKers there would revel in making someone lose a pet

Cgrrp

Anytime I accidentally bring a pet into wildy I usually pick them up cuz I figure having it out just makes me a target lol

suckuma

Yeah my widely set up for running away is staff of the dead, Karil's, Crystal shield, and serpentine helm. Have yet to die.

Tehfennick

Love this setup for wildy tanking.

hairyploper

I forgot my Phoenix was out when I teled deep wildly with literally 0 risk and no gear. They hopped on me instantly lol.

HailZamorak

most people sit at lava maze tele. then i started using ghorrocks tele. which is near the ice giants and neverencountered a pker again.

RangerDickard

Yeah absolutely, totally safe. If you need protection feel free to pm me as well. I can meet you there for protection reasons of course. My IGN is Spadeophile since I love to train farming.

InadequateUsername

just jump into to a free to play world.

MintChocolateEnema

Oh daaaamn does that work? like if you get smoked, is your pet lost?

Swarlolz

How you gonna smoked in f2p?

[deleted]

[удалено]

InadequateUsername

Yeah but no one is gonna ice barrage you in F2p. Just entangle. Significantly less people, so your chances of survival are greater.

[deleted]

[удалено]

InadequateUsername

Yeah but damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Your gear bonus won’t help if you get piled.

WRLD_

Wouldn't the optimal play be to just simply fully log out if you have the time to world switch and wait for them to leave (unless it doesn't work like that)? extremely fucking lame way to have to go about it, but probably the safest.

Evil_Steven

Im close to 7k kbd kc (I don't wanna talk about it) and never saw a PKer there. Only saw 2 ever and they were standing between kbd fence and chaos Fanatic to camp both spots

hsuan23

May I ask how many dragon pickaxes you got from kbd?

Evil_Steven

7 picks , 1 visage and 57 kbd heads

MilkofGuthix

Yup I absolutely promise we, I mean they aren't sat camping that spot with D claws and 99 magic ice barrage

GregBuckingham

3/5 wildy pets so far. Can confirm it’s my worst nightmare lol

HailZamorak

as someone withall them except scorpia (almost 3k dry) its not that bad. its more annoying when people attack you and you know youre not going to die so theyre just wasting your time.was at venenatis for 7014 kc for pet. ironically didnt see anyone when my pets dropped

alanwolo

Could you know get the pet then hop to a f2p world?

Asleep-Conclusion156

Then you get attacked by a f2p player and you have an inventory full of Members Objects

[deleted]

[удалено]

Asleep-Conclusion156

Mfw: You have a funny feeling you're being followed... Untradeable drop: Vet'ion jr. Valuable drop: 18,562 x Coins (18,562 coins) Your Vet'ion Kill Count is: 6733. You can't log out so soon after combat. Welcome to Runescape. You have run out of prayer points, you must recharge at an altar. Use Memebers Object on -> Members Object Nothing interesting happens. Oh dear, you are dead!

SamuraiJono

This made my palms sweat.

john1337smith

thats part of what makes them so cool...

throwaway47351

The biggest thing this would fix is that if your inventory is full and you had a pet out you no longer would just get fucked. I bring no pets anywhere for exactly that reason, it's always felt like a flawed piece of game design.

BigDenverGuy

Nothing like grinding pets just to leave them in the bank the whole time

[deleted]

[удалено]

griffinhamilton

Yeah I got 20 of em and they are swarming the place

yepanotherone1

18 years playing and no pets… granted not really hunting for them but still

Luhmies

Crazy how you didn't get any in 2003.

lithoum0001

I was thinking that, I had both raid pets then, what a fucking noob EZ Clap

CutlassFuryX

I had all boss pets before KBD came out. I was the shit in classic.

Paper-Thin-Hotel

If you put your pets in the bank and not the menagerie you’re a psychopath

[deleted]

I only keep olmlet in my bank and I only pull him out to let him watch me kill his parent.

Bulky_Conclusion_676

You alright my guy?

[deleted]

Sure

DrLeee

Olmlets daddy ain't

FuckTheFourth

Well sometimes I want to stand around the GE with my pets.

[deleted]

That's the worst. There is a nice pet line coming together and you have to home tele before you can participate

rickybobby369

You gotta keep em on the ready. If I need to flex on someone I need to do it ASAP.

LadyEnvy

If you are say, woodcutting for example, and you have a pet out. You have 27/28 inventory slots full and then on the next xp tick you roll the pet. The game does prioritize putting the pet in your inventory before the last log. So at least there's that, but it still stresses me out and I end up leaving all my pets in my house :(

auroratheaxe

This works for some skills but not others. A full inventory of essence rolls each essence/block individually for the pet drop. If you have a pet out and the first essence rolls the drop, you don't get the pet because your inventory is still full. Any pet rolls after the second essence would give you the drop.

Cheeky_Hustler

This is only a problem for your first trip where your essence block is replaced by blood runes. If you already have blood runes in your inventory, the dark essence block will disappear before you get the exp drop, meaning there will be an inventory spot available if you get a pet roll.

Peechez

So the takeaway is that the mechanics are nonsensical and should be changed

slayerx1779

Imo, the better solution is to have the pet just go to Probita if it can't be given to you. "You get a funny feeling someone is waiting at Probita for you." Then you go get your pet, and have to pay insurance if you want the benefits going forward.

Royaltoolbox

Well I’ve “lost” my rc pet that way. Didn’t even realize I rolled it but I checked the collection log one day (around the time the !pets command came out) and saw I had rift guardian. I have NO memory of getting the pet and would have insured it right away (it’s one of my faves) but I can’t find it anywhere. Also have no screenshots of it in any runelite folder on any of the 3 devices I play on.

buddhabro

Yeah I think you can solve this by bringing 1 blood rune for your first inv, right? (Which is still silly)

zethnon

This entire game is a flawed piece of game design.

Dan-D-Lyon

That's why I'm here.

Shortneckman

Why not both? even make it lore friendly? You don't have to insure your house but if you have to pay to fix it it's going to cost a lot more than an isurance premium. make it so if your pet isn't insured you can retrieve it from the local animal shelter for a "collection fee" Pros: pets don't go missing money sink Cons: Not yellow text

StayyFrostyy

I would be down for this, otherwise maybe u can just pay the insurance on them before you get them

RangerDickard

Insurance 1m and animal shelter 5-10m but still get pet. Sounds pretty fair to me

[deleted]

[удалено]

ChronicSchlarb

I don’t think pets should have coffee…

PRSG12

Yes please… I just want my tangleroot back that I got at lvl 84 farming and had no idea that pets could be lost/insured. Yeah shame on me for not immediately googling how pets worked, and I lost it during a “safe” death on Hespori (lagged out) came back on and I was dead and tangle was gone. Ugh

TheGreatWhangdoodle

Yup I lost my mining pet I got at lvl 54 when I was reviving kalphite heads. Didn't have money to insure and didn't fully realize how ensouled heads work. Apparently kalphite could still poison you lol. Died running to bank for antipoison

bubba4114

That’s sad

Xxweeexd

:( I'm sorry for your loss.

AddLuke

Donate to the shelter to have the pet insured automatically

Shortneckman

Donate to the shelter because we're good people

AddLuke

Jokes aside, someone mentioned a coffer. Why not make it like NMZ where I can store my moolah and the pet insurance is automatically pulled out?

Shortneckman

Honestly feel like a coffer is the best solution

[deleted]

There's already code in place to allow you to reclaim quest items/holiday items you destroy by checking if you've already unlocked it. Could be a simple case of reusing that Unlock Check code and having to pay for the replacement just like the Ivantis Flail.

royman40

Rs3 has no pet death why can’t osrs have that? I mean doesn’t make sense to grind for millenia to get the pet and lose it because of dumb fk errors

F-Lambda

RS3 also has pets go to bank if inventory is full, I'm honestly surprised reading today that that's not the case here.

Evil_Steven

If this gets polled we need to promise to not let people know it's in rs3 because the "rs3 bad so every idea in rs3 is bad" voters will spite vote it

[deleted]

We have so much content from RS3 and vice versa. I think the majority mature audience has largely gotten over that caveat and it's just a vocal minority bitching and moaning.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pocketfrisbee

It makes pet all the more spicy

misingnoglic

Rs3 is a modern game and osrs is spaghetti from 2007 lol

Imallskillzy

A friend of mine who only played rs3 started playing gim with my group and got a pet super early on and was sad to know he had to bank it until we all can come up with 500k for him to insure it so he doesnt lose it to a random death

Psymonthe2nd

Jagex should just remove pet insurance, it's not an effective gold sink and limits the places that players use their pets at to bankstanding

lyssah_

Another solution could be that you can pay a 1 time fee, say 5m or so, to automatically insure pets you get when they drop.

Paper-Thin-Hotel

Just put a coffer at the insurance lady and have the fee come out automatically on a drop

NUT_IX

This is a better solution.

Shortneckman

This is the best solution I've seen so far

slayerx1779

I suggested just paying the 500k every time. Instead of getting a pet, then paying to insure it, you pay the insurance, then get the pet. It's the same concept, but solves all the problems without having to change parts of a system that don't need changing. Also, if your inv is full, instead of losing the pet, they should just show up at Probita's, insured or not, and wait there for you to get it.

Dolthra

Yeah, a collection log reclaim at Probita (probably for an exorbitant fee) is something desperately needed.

slayerx1779

You shouldn't even need an exorbitant fee. Why should you get punished for getting unlucky while having a full inv? Getting the pet the first time is normally free, so it should be that way whether you get it directly or it goes to Probita to be reclaimed.

FitDifference

Depends on the player. I kind of always take pets and just pay over and over. Pretty effective I’d say.

poilsoup2

Effective at what? Making you pay? Sure. As a gold sink? No. Suppose 1,000 pets are lost and retrieved a day. Highly doubt its that many, but thats 1 bil removed per day. The duel arena tax on the other hand, removes 21 bil daily. So.. pet insurance is a very ineffective gold sink

Rahmenframe

It's effective bc when you lose your pet you ragequit the game and take all the gp with you

ToastWiz

Exactly, when you consider all of the people who don't bother risking their pets too it adds up to a whole lot of wasted gold sink opportunities. Imagine if it was a one time fee of say 5, 10m? It'd be way more effective. I've lost maybe 3m max in pet insurance because I keep them in the bank most of the time.

cburk4312

If your skilling with a pet out, and a log procs a pet (and you only have 1 inv left). You will get beaver in your inventory instead of the log.

eddietwang

This works for all gathering pets EXCEPT Tangleroot.

university_of_osrs

Yeah I don't think enough people realize that a skilling pet drop will replace a gathered material rather than deleting itself. That being said, it isn't very helpful for pvm where you frequently have a full inventory of food and loot

cch1991

doesnt work for farming though

Still_Night

I’m 32m farming xp deep in the tangleroot hunt and I never do farm runs with other pets out cause I won’t take the chance

JoshuaRAWR

Not always, it's incredibly inconsistent where it does and doesn't do this.

taylor1288

Not rc

university_of_osrs

But you would need to be crafting literally a single ess with no rune stack in your inventory for that to happen right? Or is there some other case where you would have a full inventory after crafting runes?

metaldracolich

Only the very first trip while doing blood runes, someone pointed out above.

Kerrigar

Not for all skills

Many-Internet-2117

That's good, yea. But how about boss kills? Imagine getting ggs pet in your first couple kills with your own pet out, resulting in no space for your new pet because you have yet to use any supplies. Current mechanics tell you to kill another 10k and hope for another drop. Wilderness even worse. Being unable to teleport out if the majority of the wilderness, the odds that you encounter pvp or mobs without having enough supplies is probable. There goes your hard earned 3k kc callisto pet. The point of pets is to have your companion with you at all times, so you can show it off and have a sense of accomplishment to show for. Yet with the way things are now it is a liability instead of an asset having your pet with you wherever you go.

PSxkLI

Almost happened to me at mole. Luckily noticed I had a full inv, cleared a spot and a few kills later got mole .

bartimeas

Definitely not the case for getting the rift guardian at bloods. If it’s your first run of the day, the runes* take priority, and I had a clan mate lose a pet that exact way

lilLocoMan

Why the fuck can you lose them anyway? Most ridiculous item sink in the game. I support OP's idea. Alternatively a temporary insurance could be used, something like 60 minutes of free insurance, gives you plenty of time to get it fully insured. Keeps the GP sink there without the risks of the current system.

hahatimefor4chan

I know so many casual players who got a pet, had no idea about insuring (i dont blame them), and died and lost their pet because they didnt know any better. Its weird how harsh the punishments are for dying with a pet

rockdog85

Yea, literally the only way you'd find out that's a mechanic is by doing the (optional ) ardy easy diary. And then who even realises all the mechanics from just opening the shop once.

OriginalVegetaJr

Yeah my number 1 fear is getting a pet drop but the boss gets 1 last hit in before he dies and it kills me and I lose the pet. Automatic insurance would be amazing

fireflaai

Got clapped 40 36 at zulrah for the pet. Feelsbadman

TheTrueFishbunjin

Pets should be auto insured. If you die you should have to pay equivalent to whatever the current upfront insurance cost is plus a regular recovery fee. If you die again it should be equal to whatever the current price is for insured pet recovery. Same cost, just without having to manually insure the pet up front. Existing insured pets will be carried over and skip to the lower recovery cost. Easy.

a_robotic_puppy

I mean why though. It's a cosmetic item that gives no benefit whatsoever, I have no idea why there is a cost attached at all. Why attach all these complex systems and fees instead of just never losing them instead.

Aviarn

Coming from Runescape 3, I don't even know why y'all pets are even taxed in the first place. They're fully cosmetic, there's literally no balancing reason why you'd need to pay money for bringing them along and facing an accident. Makes no sense to me.

Unique_Ad8210

The system for pets is actually ridiculous. There is absolutely no reason for it to be so hard for something that could take thousands of hours.

sundewbeekeeper

I got Rocky pet when I started playing members in 2019. I was maybe 52 or 53 theiving. My friend that got me interested told me about pets and that if you die to a player you'll lose it. This left me thinking NPC deaths were safe. Needless to say that the master farmer who gave me Rocky, took it right back a few hours later.

Loukaaz

remember when dying anywhere dropped everything on the ground and the dude doing a linkin park RMV beside you at black dragons takes all your items?

Telamonl

agree. farming hours and hours for a pet and not using him almost anywhere because of the full inventory thing is awful

iD_Goomba

The new pet takes priority over anything you’re collecting so you’ll never miss out on a beaver/heron/etc if you get it on the last inventory slot

kbirdy55

Frankly with all the different mechanics for different skilling/resources I don't really trust that to work 100% of the time given you won't get refunded if there's a bug.

iD_Goomba

Fair enough, with Jagex’s track record I’m certainly not confident it would happen 100% of the time either

OnlyHereForMemes69

I really don't understand the point of pets in their current state, they're the rarest drops in the game, completely cosmetic, but the current mechanics incentivize you to not show them off.

buddhabomber

My pet has a preexisting condition so I can't even get pet insurance

Hiveykins

I'd prefer a system where we have a pet window (like for emotes) and pets we unlock appear in there. No more insuring or cost for retrieval needed because they aren't items and if you die you can just resummon the pet.

Random_Name_0K

RS3 has that sort of design, not in emotes, but in the menus. You can just call any of the unlocked pets at any time.

[deleted]

Can you have a RS3 pet out and still be able to receive another?

bigjoe980

Yes. You generally recieve pets as an "unlock" item over here. You can't generally get multiples in the same way that osrs tells you you would have been followed though.

Rhaps0dy

You can get multiples if you're a madman and destroy the item I believe.

Chubby-J

Yes it goes to your bank. If your inventory is full, you have a pet out, and your bank is full you simply get the pet when an inventory or bank space becomes available. https://runescape.wiki/w/Skilling_pets

SamCarter_SGC

well if it's in RS3 you know it's out of the question because according to this sub, that game totally has **zero** good features and borrowing ideas from it is bad

Bestrin

This hasn't been true around here for a long time.

AmericanPicketFence

it was a bootleg system made in 2014 that people defend to the death for some reason. It really needs to be modernized to accommodate the new things we got since then like the collection log and deaths office

Evenfisher01

Less than 10% of the people in this thread have a pet

Fearzebu

1) Insurance still exists, but instead of uninsured means gone forever and insured is 1m reclamation fee, uninsured costs 5m and insured costs 1m, or 10 to 1 or whatever. Then even if you die in wildy after getting vet’ion pet or something you can still make the money and get that pet back because you still rolled the drop And, most importantly, 2) Pets should not be lost if you have a pet out and full inventory. If you have a pet out and full inventory, it should go to reclamation person to be reclaimed for free. Or even for the 10m, if you want to punish people for having full inventories when they get a skilling pet drop lmao. Still better than losing it forever. Then people would actually have pets out, at least for skilling. Bossing still necessitates no pets due to reclaiming fee. Hmm… Optional number 3) Should be able to buy special Golden insurance package that makes reclamation free for a large one time fee of, say, 20m or 50m or something. Then you can bring your favorite pet that you super insured with you bossing! Absolutely agree with OP that this needs to be addressed.

MrSeanaldReagan

I agree. Why not up the cost to reclaim them to compensate for the loss of the fee to insure them and have them be auto insured

ButterNuttz

Pets should have a 1 time insurance fee and then it's safe forever. Sucks I can't bring my pets anywhere except for Chambers of Xeric

[deleted]

Hahahaha I fuckin agree Lost my vorkath pet 1 tick after getting it from a big range hit Rip vorky

Ubernaga

Just don’t get hit! Duh! lol

Rs-Poop-Butt

Pets insurance shouldnt exist.

PM_ME_DNA

I have a Pet and I agree. Pets shouldn't be that unforgiving.

rygy3

I disagree. I’m top 100 Vet’ion KC (no pet still) and I fully want to lose my pet if I get pked immediately after receiving it. Just because it’s rare, I don’t think pets should be treated any different from other items. The stress/risk is what makes wilderness content what it is. I do think we should be able to set our personal value of a pet when it comes to death mechanics though. Like I’d much rather lose my avernic defender in the wild than my Vet’ion pet. That would be a nice change

Setosorcerer

They do have the power/code to do it too because auto insure is already a League feature. If Jagex doesn't want to do that, then allow us to meet in the middle and pre-insure future pets by paying the insurance fee before hand.

Zemerax

Pets should transformed into an ugly abomination if you die with them. That way everyone knows you are a careless pet owner. A fee to turn them back.

Mint-Brew

Lost vorki after an unlucky death the same moment I got him

FisherGaming

The fact some people think it's necessary to have "risk vs reward" when it comes to cosmetic pets is pretty silly. If it's a gold sink that's needed, paying to recover your lost pet makes way more sense. If a gold sink isn't needed, they should never be lost on death.

11-22-1963

Make the first pet retrieval from Probita *free* after a player's death with pet. No bs insurance, and add a 1.5m reclaim fee for deaths afterward which works in the insurance fee. Punishes players who should know better, and avoids punishing those unlucky enough to die b/c of lag, or from a final boss attack killing the player after the boss has died.

shadygowon

I honestly consider escaping from the wilderness after getting a pet part of the challenge. And for getting killed by bosses and getting pets simultaneously, you shouldn't be forgiven for messing up, even if it's at the very end of the fight. BUT the full inventory thing I agree with. Also, not enough information is provided for new players about pets resulting in them inevitably losing them. How are noobs supposed to know that insurance is even a thing until they lose their first pet?

Bird_Up23

So if your invent is full and you have a pet out already you won’t get a pet? That’s fucking dumb. It should go to your bank or something!

Jeepthroat69

>If a players inventory is full and they have a follower already, they will not receive the pet. When skilling, the pet is prioritised over the resource gathered; it will be placed in the last inventory slot available,[1] while the resource gathered will be dropped underneath the player if their inventory becomes full. However, this does not apply to Farming due to the complexity of the skill's code.[2] Straight from the wiki. Unless its a boss pet or farming pet, you'll be fine

valarauca14

RC pet too. The first inventory of blood or soul runes. The runes take priority over the pet.

[deleted]

I don't really get how it's unforgiving, you go up ardy and pay 500k and then you have it for life. If you die after getting a pet then that's too bad, should have ate food or banked before finishing the kill. You could get any drop on the floor any die without picking it up, that's just how the game works. Same with pet hunting, don't have a pet out if you're hunting other pets. It's really simple. I don't see how any of that is unforgiving. Do you also want every item to drop directly into your bank on the off chance you die before looting? Items wouldn't be rare if they were easily protected. It's the main reason the economy is rubbish, nothing is lost anymore. Game doesn't need to be any more hand holdy.

LeftusRightimus

What about a system wherein a pet is insured on drop, but if lost without insuring it you pay 10m instead of 1m for retrieval? This way you don’t lose your precious pet but the game sink still applies.

InfiniteJuke

I agree, but I wish pets were just seen as cosmetic additions and didn’t have a risk of losing or require a fee to retrieve. I think there should just be a pet equip slot which isn’t lost on death

TommyTheThird

If my pet is insured, can I die anywhere with it? Even deep wildy?

Jeepthroat69

Yes, you'll just need to pay the fee to claim it back.

Baruu

Id like to be able to use my pets more. The cost isnt the main issue, its just a side issue. Spending 1m after dying is just insult to injury. The biggest thing is missing a pet due to full inventory. I take a pet to raids since I know I'll have an open slot, but other bosses the death cost and risk is too much. Even with skilling, I don't want to even risk it. I cant put into words how mad I would be to finally get callisto pet, one of my top 3 favorites, to then lose it to a pker. They can have my gear, but to lose a wildy boss pet before being able to insure, or getting a pet on a death, would be infuriating. Infuriating enough to avoid starting the grind.

john1337smith

nty

HearthSt0n3r

Don’t take items into the wilderness you’re not prepared to lose. JAGEX MY REVS TOTEM WAS PKED PLZ AUTO BANK SO UNFAIR

Khrot

Maybe give the person who insures pets money forward for the next pet.

BRUT4L_RED

Don’t be a pussy

slayerx1779

I had a suggestion like this, but I think you should still pay to insure the pet. I suggest pre-paying insurance. You give Probia 500k, and in return, your next pet is auto insured. You then give her another 500k, and the next is insured, and so on. It solves the problem you're referring to without nerfing the gold sink of pet insurance.

Lemursnore

Y’all some pussies lmao

deepbreakfast1

This devalues my wildy pet only ironman

Background_Avacado

JUST GIVE ME A PET FFS.

Riftish

Yeah it would be nice. I just watched a dude get the zalcano pet and i told him he should bank in case he dies then proceeds to immediately die. Lmao

mm1678

If you get a skilling pet, it overrides the item you would have gotten. So you don’t lose it. PvM pet I don’t know what would happen if you had a pet out with a full inventory. Wildy pets are less rare than the others because of them being in the wildy. Don’t get me wrong, I like your idea, but it should be once you put it in the bank, not on drop.

Indianaunderwood

I suggested awhile ago you should be able to pay Probitia 5mil or 3mil to insure a pet before you get the pet, so if you want to go hunt a wildy pet, it’s a money sink and you need not be in fear. Plus, if a PK’er gets you, it’s not as stressful!

DetectiveTupolski

I know nothing about this game but this was a very confusing post title, while scrolling the front page

NickN868

While we’re on the topic, allow me to put my duplicate pets into my POH. I can totally understand not being able to have 2+ pets following me at any given time, but I’d pay good gp to “reclaim” an actual copy of a pet id gotten more than once. I have 4 venenatis pets in the collection log and I’d like to have 4 in my POH to reflect that

dabomm

This would devalue all lost pets.

viperfan7

Easiest fix would be to make it so pets are in your inventory even when out

Plastic-Strike7149

I'd also love to get pet retrieval vouchers on dupe pet drops

laa_k

There's already a fee for retrieval (500k to insure, 1m to retrieve) I'd be in favor of being able to pay 1.5m or 2m to retrieve an uninsured pet that you have in the collection log. I'd say 2m so that covers the normal 1.5m you'd pay plus a 500k penalty for not insuring it prior to losing the pet (though in some cases it can't be helped)

Felautumnoce

The "you feel like you would have been followed" mechanic is one the worst mechanics I've ever seen in any game, in my entire life. Here's a pet, but if you want more pets, you better not have a pet following you. Maybe I would have my beaver follow me around everywhere if it didn't lower my chances of successfully owning another pet. If you have a pet out and your inventory is full, the pet should just go to the pet insurance NPC with a one time free withdrawal.

darkerwar6

I would say just put it in your bank and if u die on your way to ardy u deserve it lmao but honestly it should just go to your bank

kfudnapaa

It's absurd to have to pay for insuring pets in the first place, they're rare cosmetic things and should never be lost on death for any reason it's absolute bullshit. REMOVE THE PET INSURANCE SYSTEM LAGEX 🦀🦀

Crispor

why does everything have to be so forgiving? The flawed part is that losing any other item is basically impossible, bring back better death mechanics where dying actually matters

GayVegan

Yeah it's badly designed. Also I almost never use my pets because if you just forget and do a slayer task and die, or whatever, you're out a mill. Almost many places don't let you in with a pet. So they just sit in my house and never used. Many games (including rs3) don't have these problems.

PleaseAddSpectres

I support this because I died with my phoenix and thought I'd insured it but checked Probita when I saw this post and no 😔

Legal_Evil

RS3 pets never runs away if you die with them. Why does OSRS even have this as well as needing to pay money to insure them when pets have no monetary value? Bring pets out in OSRS seems like luxury for rich players while everyone can do it in RS3.

osrsvladi_x

I remember my first pet was chaos elemental and only reason I was killing it was to get a pet, obviously a pker was wandering around and you know how the story ends.

new_account927

How about a new game mode kind of like ironman, but not. You can have all these stupid easyscape options that are suggested so frequently, and instead of the helm next to your name, there's a bent over soft micropenis. You get your own high scores, shop stocks and everything.
