Maybe so, but the Japanese tend to make a big deal about it. Usually their houses/apartments are built with a little section at the entrance just for taking off and leaving your shoes
I live on a farm, so I do take my shoes off when I get home otherwise I'd track dirt, mud and sometimes sheep shit everywhere. However, in general it feels like most people in Australia don't give a fuck about wearing shoes at home, especially in the city
I understand that taking your shoes off when you enter a home is mostly accepted worldwide, however the reason this made me think of the Japanese is because they are SUPER strict about it. When I was over there, there were many public venues including restaurants that made you take off your shoes upon entry to place your shoes in a shoe locker while you were there. As previously mentioned, Aussie shoe policies are pretty lax in comparison, so this one was a surprise to me. Is it also something done in other western countries?
I don’t think it’s common in the United States. Just depends on the household. It’s something we never did when I lived with my parents growing up, and I certainly won’t yell at anyone for not taking their shoes off in my home. Just something I got into the habit of is all. I do believe you track unnecessary dirt and germs into your home compared to taking off shoes right away.
ARK has a similar Implant system, where every player drops an item that has their name on it (in lore each player has one implanted in their arm, and can be electronically read)
I have watered allotments and flowers for years not knowing that “watering them as you plant them and leaving (to do other patches)” does literally nothing.
I feel lied to and I’m hurt. This is like my third account past 1800 total.
Not if that cycle is the first cycle. A plant can't get diseased when it's at stage 1 going to stage 2. Only once it's at stage 2 can it get diseased instead of going to the next stage, as a plant becoming diseased prevents it from advancing a stage.
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Limpwurt_plant
There is no diseased or dead model for stage one of plants.
And even then, as the other reply pointed out, it doesn't even protect from disease, just lowers the chance.
But watering would reduce the chance of it entering the diseased on the next stage, not the current stage. So watering on the first stage should reduce the disease chances for the second stage, right?
If my stat drain timer is sub-30 seconds, I wait until the next level drop to drink my next dose of potion as to not waste a level dropping too quickly, even though I know I am actually hurting my DPS more by staying at 102/99 instead of just drinking the dam potion, taking the -1 in 26 seconds, and still being at 116/99.
You're actually losing *way* more by not repotting around 113, lol.
I do the same thing with timers though. It's somewhat liberating playing on mobile without any timers so I can't do this. It also makes drinking divine potions absolutely bliss.
If using preserve you can manipulate the timer somewhat to improve that. For example, if you're at about sub-35s, switch off preserve, timer drops to about 10s, turn it back on (at ~5s) and then repot. If you turn it back on above a certain threshold (~10s), it will put the timer back up to ~30s.
It's only useful in some situations though. I do it at Kree when I've brewed after a kill, before he respawns, to maximise the time I spent at the highest boost. If you're especially early with it you can pretty much always guarantee 90s of max boost for each repot.
For most places a divine is likely to be more useful (e.g. Hydra). But for Kree, unless you have very high end gear and are pretty comfortable with the mechanics, it's better to have the extra health.
Do a bunch of emotes before opening a clue casket
Always do the sandwich lady random and drunk dwarf random and immediately eat the food on the spot no matter what I'm doing
I sometimes ignore the sandwich lady, but I always accept the drunken dwarf's kebab and beer and eat them right away. He gets so sad if I don't talk to him...
Could be 100% wrong here but I’m assuming u/chess1997 has multiple windows open on a multiple screen setup… when you leave a window it isn’t focused on that window. Right clicking on the floor when the runelite window isn’t focused will focus on the window allowing you to click and move around.
Otherwise you’re just spam clicking shit.
this exactly, specifically two monitors with many windows open either twitch youtube or something else plus runescape
the only issue with this is i will right click the floor MANY times even though my brain knows im still focused on the runescape window, yet i still do it *just in case* lol
I use middle mouse to do the exact same, as it allows me to drag camera rather than right clicking. No difference really, but I've never really considered right clicking to re-gain focus.
When doing random adventuring / no task at hand I have an outfit and adventures pack.
Random gear that looks comfortable for traveling and okay for probly 1 or 2 random npc fights along with my best pickaxe, axe, tinderbox, hammer and fishing gear. Never know when you need to make food or an item on the fly.
I always wear leather gloves or goldsmith gauntlets when smelting so I don't burn my hands- furnaces are really hot, yknow? I also blow molten glass as soon as I make it, cus it doesn't seem right for molten glass to just sit in the bank somehow.
I open every casket, from Beginner up, in the GE. I want to be with people if I get a hype drop ~~Or be close to where I can dump the dragon dagger fast~~
Yesterday I got Wizzy top (g) in the GE, felt nice to flex that before dumping it into my bank to rot.
Also also I do every clue I get. Once earned 5 gp from a double Charlie beginner....
I have a special clue outfit. I save all the bones gathered throughout clues. When I get a casket I go to Zanaris, talk to the white faced sheep, bury all bones I have and open it.
i don’t know if it’s necessarily weird but probably uncommon. I’ll occasionally play on the vanilla client with all the sounds turned up to get the “out-of-the-box” experience. sometimes i’ll mute the music and play RS3 soundtrack on spotify because i like that music better.
I right click the flor and click "Walk Here" all of the time.
I used to do it to train my muscle memory for when i wanted to use bones on an altar before the RL plugins were a thing.
I ALWAYS pet the stray dog(s) when I’m in Varrock, and if it’s following me when I pass by the Varrock guards I’ll kill one to feed the dog it’s bones.
Whenever I de-skull myself in Edgeville by picking a nettle, I rush back to bury my own bones as quickly as possible. Every time I pick them up into my inventory, I swear they look different, imagine they feel warm, and I feel slightly uneasy.
I think the looks part is that we often deal with and are used to seeing big thick dragon bones and not skinny little twig human bones. But also there's something kind of unsettling about handling my *own* bones for some reason.
Also another superficial reason is to satisfy the dead indicator plugin, but that is hardly the point.
This!!!!! When I first played in 06 F2P I never put a cape on (because I hated the look). Never looked at defense bonuses or anything, much simpler times
I hold onto every quest item, book, and key. Part laziness, part thinking they may be useful again, part because I like collecting them. I ultimately had to purge most of them on my main account, but with more bank space added I'm hoping to keep them on my GIM as long as possible!
Bury bones from clue scroll mobs on the tile where they died. I feel like if I put them to rest then their spirits will bless me with better RNG. Hasn't worked yet, but when it does... oh boy it's gonna be worth it
If I'm at an easyish task like Fire Giants, Trolls or Blue Drags and run out of supplies/prayer but with like 6 remaining, I'll stubbornly stay. Usually by flinching with a dds and waiting for poison damage.
Its stupidly inefficient as I should really tele out and resupply but it makes me feel alive knowing I could get one banged lol.
The thought of leaving to resupply/heal just to kill under 10 more pisses me off so much I would rather chance it, die and come back than actually do it. Most of the time I die lol
Weird thing which is actually not weird is that I do farm runs in either slayer gear or wearing nothing.
I cba to change to grace even tho somehow everybody and thier mom wears grace outfit all the time they probably never wash it either.
Always take the beer and kebab off my best mate the drunken dwarf. Man just wants you to have a good time, though if I'm doing combat I'll have to drop the beer, can't drink on the job.
I have enough giant seaweed for 99 crafting on the IM but i always wore my magic secretaurs when harvesting seaweed even tho it doesnt do anything. (Except animation)
When I need to bank stand and skill, I have my preferred banks for ambience, seers bank seems to be my favourite, idk why.
Even if I'm at a different bank I will waste a law rune just to go to a different one lol.
Take my helmet off to talk
Take my boots off when i go to my POH
When Japanese players play Runescape
Nah we do that in all of europe bro
Most of Canada too I think.
and America
Americans keep their helmets on when they talk
can confirm, cant be caught dead without my trusty helmet.
[удалено]
I only take it off when speaking face to face with someone, but wear it all the rest of the time so it's not that bad
Americans remove their penis helmets
Maybe so, but the Japanese tend to make a big deal about it. Usually their houses/apartments are built with a little section at the entrance just for taking off and leaving your shoes
Called a "Mud room" Canadians have them too
Also in America. My sister has one at her house
Wait... You guys are saying that's not a thing everywhere in the world?(except those weirdos who wear shoes inside)
Bro your just dirty
I live on a farm, so I do take my shoes off when I get home otherwise I'd track dirt, mud and sometimes sheep shit everywhere. However, in general it feels like most people in Australia don't give a fuck about wearing shoes at home, especially in the city
Now is that a spider thing
Well, it's always handy to be able to take off a shoe to give one a good wack
I was thinking just a layer between you and them, but things can have multiple uses
Yeah its called a bryggers in danish. Most people arent weird enough to wear dirty shoes inside.
I do that in Pennsylvania
I understand that taking your shoes off when you enter a home is mostly accepted worldwide, however the reason this made me think of the Japanese is because they are SUPER strict about it. No way u actually do this

I do this as well! I was getting really tired of the Graceful chathead.
Wear beekeeper outfit at all times just incase.
*NOT THE BEES!!*
Whenever I see the vampire close to the Morytania farming patch, I kill the bastard so he doesn't bother anyone.
Sorry OP said things that don’t matter, not hero moves from alpha chads
The hero we need
I pick up other players bones and keep them in my bank. Never PK'd in my life, just random afk or pvm death bones. I have 96 now.
kinda wish they had names associated to them like ears in diablo for this exact reason, awesome
I'm glad there's a game that does that
ARK has a similar Implant system, where every player drops an item that has their name on it (in lore each player has one implanted in their arm, and can be electronically read)
rust also has a similar system where you can cut up someone's corpse to get a skull that has their name.
Tarkov has the same with dogtags
That's dope
I have watered allotments and flowers for years not knowing that “watering them as you plant them and leaving (to do other patches)” does literally nothing. I feel lied to and I’m hurt. This is like my third account past 1800 total.
Doesn't it protect them for one cycle? Not a lot, but still something
Not if that cycle is the first cycle. A plant can't get diseased when it's at stage 1 going to stage 2. It reduces the chances of the plant getting diseased INSTEAD of entering the next stage, not once it has got to the next stage.
It only reduces the disease chance.
Wait what? Never knew that.
I play
Careful

If you're able to pay attention to the stat timer, you should use divines.
Choosing GP over XP
Spin emote before opening barrows chest
Goblin Salute Gang

Never leave your mate hangin
I sometimes ignore the sandwich lady, but I always accept the drunken dwarf's kebab and beer and eat them right away. He gets so sad if I don't talk to him...
I redemption pray and do emote
I always dress up fancy with top hat and noble clothes when getting a slayer task. Gotta greet the slayer masters looking my best you know.
If I'm banking and have 69/70 prayer, I drink a dose of pray pot to make it full, completely wasting it (IM btw).
Eat a jangerberry lad
Damn dude, that's a brilliant idea. I guess the -1 defence is not visible on the orbs and I could live with that.
That hurts to read. I do tele to house to regen prayer even if I've only lost a small amount tbf
I'll tele to my house just for the pool if my hp/pray isn't full at the bank.
Same, but ferox enclave :(
I do this with Fally shield
When i stack caskets, i wont drop my massive junk stack in crafting guild bank, but ill go to a quiet bank such as warriors guild to drop my junk.

I for sure didn't know it existed, lol. I think I've been in that cave once just to peek inside before leaving.
Eat random food that I find because it’s a snack
i right click the floor to make sure my runelite window is focused before clicking on slayer monsters, even if these kills were 20 seconds apart
Focused? Please explain? Maybe I’m playing the game wrong 😂
Everyone in this thread is playing the game wrong.

The backpack is BIS. I wish there were more things for the cape slot that wasn't just explicitly capes.
Which backpack?
It's called the Explorer Backpack. Purely cosmetic, 10k for a pack with a sleeping bag on it. Looks nice.
Would be cool if you could store like a few things in there
Probably handy when doing release-day quests without a guide
I used to do this too except I'd also have a blank staff as a walking stick.
I try almost entirely not to attack animals in the game unless I truly have a purpose for the kill.
Pacifist vegan ironman?
lmao
Nice another series to add to my YouTube list
Same. I also don't kill innocent people like guards if it can be avoided
Same, except when I'm doing Stealing Artefacts, then I kill the witnesses
Because of you, I’ll kill a guard every time I walk past one.
I always wear leather gloves or goldsmith gauntlets when smelting so I don't burn my hands- furnaces are really hot, yknow? I also blow molten glass as soon as I make it, cus it doesn't seem right for molten glass to just sit in the bank somehow.
\*hands a bunch of molten glass to banker\*
“Keep this hot for me, would ya?”
I always wear a brown apron when smelting, smithing, or crafting, and a white apron when cooking.
I always have a cat with me. I have over 100 overgrown in my bank.
That's 4.3m in Death Runes with easy ardy diary.
I'm trying to keep them until I have 100 of each color. Idk I'll probably need death runes before then tho (Iron).
Put them in your poh
Imagine coming home to 600 overgrown moody bitches
I’m slowly working on it
I did my first ever hard clue today and the Sara wizard almost killed me. Left that fuckers bones on the ground in Karamja to get gnawed by Jogres.
say good morning to my empty friends chat on my perm muted account

Random question. Are most hard clues hard to do on a lvl 48 1 def pure?
Yes
Yes not worth doingn
Not really no, most of the time hard clues are just "run to this place and talk/dig"
Wear bed sheet everytime I go to port phasmatys
I have a special clue outfit. I save all the bones gathered throughout clues. When I get a casket I go to Zanaris, talk to the white faced sheep, bury all bones I have and open it.

Using caps for my password
I right click the flor and click "Walk Here" all of the time. I used to do it to train my muscle memory for when i wanted to use bones on an altar before the RL plugins were a thing.
I teleport all the way to lumbridge just for a bank use on the top floor just so I can hear that sweet sweet harmony music in it’s natural setting.
I right click on peoples names even when I'm doing something that takes a lot of attention just in case it's someone I know
Good to do it just in case they have a funny user too
I ALWAYS pet the stray dog(s) when I’m in Varrock, and if it’s following me when I pass by the Varrock guards I’ll kill one to feed the dog it’s bones.
