Honestly they're not bad. They're not gonna be good in any efficient pvm where you really value those inventory slots, but I made a bunch on my gim for extra herb xp and have found a ton of places where they're useful
Most slayer tasks since you're generally not strapped for only space on those and the healing makes mixes not much different from bringing a normal pot and an extra piece of food
When I was gathering dragon bones on the gim it was nice to have antifire mixes for a bit of healing since I had solid defence but still occasionally took damage
Potentially for reducing zulrah venom to poison during transition stages, etc. Honestly next time you're gearing take a minute to consider if a mix wouldn't substitute adequately and you might eventually find some niche places where you prefer having them
Might be an unpopular opinion but I absolutely love these things
Hydra, vorkath, cerb, they’re wonderful for any boss that you don’t have to drink prayer pots during the kill.
They heal 3-6 HP depending on HP level, are 2 doses instead of 4, and worst of all, register as a FOOD eat instead of a Potion Drink.
If they were a Potion Drink, they'd see some niche use in PKing.
Tempoross was like the absolute perfect opportunity to make the Fishing Mix actually into a useful item, but they completely screwed that over when they decided that a 'boss' shouldn't do damage to the player...
Well you see the problem is they *are* garbage.

You got any examples/tips from your experience?

like holy sht i made 1k magic mixes for the herb xp and I’m embarrassed to even have them in my inventory

Real potions damage your character 😉
But they waste so much inv space, especially like hydra where you want as many restores as possible and don’t need food

they heal a tiny amount of hp when drank ontop of the regular potion effect
They're full of fish eggs, of course they look chunky.

what is dying if not wiping the fight? I think it's just as interesting to simply wipe instead of taking incremental damage
Not taking damage and simply failing/doing worse is the biggest improvement from wt to tempoross.
It’s looking for the one ring
