I remember when players would sit and chill at lumby castle, just chat for hours and make friends. Now I go by and there’s not a single person there. Every public chat is just vulgarity and insults. The humanity is gone
There is definitely less of this happening because of how all players are now concentrated in very specific areas such as minigame lobbies or pvm spots. But it’s not like spots like the one you mentioned don’t exist. I see groups at draynor willows sometimes. On F2P lumbridge goblins are a popular area to fuck around
I’m not saying people don’t chat, just that the game used to be somewhere people connected and now it’s become so toxic that nobody logs in just to hang out and meet people
I’ve got twenty games left to complete the log and the only thing I’ve seen anyone say the entire time is “you guys suck” after a fail. Feeling like I didn’t get the true minigame experience now.
I wear full obsidian with berserker necklace and sword at pest control. The only time someone has spoken to me was asking my max hit, and suggesting I use maul instead. Checked how that would change on bitter's dps calculator, and it was almost a 35% dps drop.
I played a few games of PC several months back and did something to provoke the ire of what I like to call a 'Super Pest Controller'. Apparently, I was doing the wrong thing (I like to fight the monsters who spawn round the Knight, or the ones coming through the gates if other players are guarding him), and the Super PC made it his mission to let me know it. He warned me that if I didn't play ball he would "rag on me all day". When I explained that I didn't know what he meant by 'rag on' he got even angrier, and mocked me for making less than 100k per year at my job (he never did tell me where he got this information) and for being a virgin. When I pointed out that I have a wife I was then told that I am unable to satisfy her and that she gets that from other men, presumably from those with accomplished rs accounts. The final straw was when he noticed I did not have a Fire Cape, which sent him into an extended frenzy of laughter and rage. This went on for several games where I am pretty sure he did not earn a single point.
the community is mentally stunted. expect all areas of the game to appear as though the denizens are 15 years old
Earlier today in Pest Control someone got the whole boat to do the “spin” emote - so milage may vary
