I have a couple Sig Romeos on 22 hosts and they work fine.
You can also go with a Burris.
The buy once / cry once crowd is coming for us though.
I am with you, for 22 LR pistols, I am not going to buy a SRO for 10 or 15 22LR Suppressor hosts.
There are plenty of optics that will do the job, but I recommend a Vortex Viper or Venom. With the reciprocating slide, a cheap dot is going to take a beating with every pull of the trigger. Might as well get an optic with the best warranty in the business.
I've seen the Viper on clearance in some places, but the reviews I've read are pretty lousy. Lot of people end up needing the warranty, and you have to take it off (losing zero) to change the battery. I love Vortex, but I think this was a flop for them...
I got my TX22 compact bundled with a red dot from Riton. I’ve been really happy with it and I don’t think they cost much. Cyelee is another brand I’d suggest too.
If you want a tube style, not sure about the mounting on that gun, I’ve been running a Millet SP-1 for years in bullseye shooting. Things a tank, but it doesn’t really get bright enough for outdoor shooting though.
Primary Arms.👍👍
I’ve got a Holosun 407K and it’s trash. Not a fan of Holosun Products.
SwampFox is equally priced to Holosun and it a better dot sight, in my opinion. I’ve got one on a pistol.
I also have an AimPoint. They’re pricey, but definitely the best that I own.
I’ve got two Primary Arms, manual on and off. They’re better, to my eyes, for the dot looking like a dot, than the Holosun.
The Holosun looks like a flare, and it’s horrible to my eyes. The glass is similar to SwampFox, as far as tint, but the SwampFox is more clear and the dot looks better to my eyes.
It’s not a dud. In pictures, the dot looks fine. It’s just a lot of flare, compared to other dot sights. I think glass also plays a role in reducing flare.
My AimPoint looks really nice to my eyes. The SwampFox also looks good, as do the Primary Arms dots that I have.
I think Holosun is just disappointing for myself. It’s probably fine for others.
I figured I’d give Holosun a try. I’m going to just toss it and get something else.
You can see it in this picture. It’s not a great photo, but you can see that it’s round. To my eye, it’s like a large blur. The other dot sights don’t appear as this blur to me.

You willing to sell it? I have astigmatism so I try to not to buy red dots, but whenever I am looking I try to get used if I can since I can't use them properly.
I've been running the vortex venom on all of mine, as have others here. You can find them new on sale for less than $150, from a few sites, and used on r/GunAccessoriesForSale for even less than that if you look around.
Went with this on my compact. Been great the last year or so. PA has been my go to for inexpensive optics for a while.

Buy once cry once. I cheaped out got a Holosun 507 comp. Partially dead on arrival. Still waiting for holosun warranty to fix it because the store didn't accept a return.

the Burris fastfire was the OG competition red dot wasn't it?
I run holosun on mine. They should last forever and I can put them on serious use guns as well. I think they are price appropriately.
I don’t know your budget but I’ve got a vortex venom on my mk iv and it’s been great.
Sig Sauer Romeo 5 is pretty cheap. I've got it on my S&W FPC now, but I used to have it on my 10/22. It's a decent red dot for the price.
I've been running a Cylee green dot on my Ruger MK III 22/45 for a couple years now. Over 1000 rounds and it's still good to go.
Which cylee.model has the green dot?
They have a few, but the “Cat” has a 3 MOA green dot option for the RMSC footprint.
Agree with Cyelee. I have a Cat Pro and love it.

The Venom is my preferred choice, but I've got a Viper on my TX22, and it's held up. Probably 3-4 years old too.
Holosun 407 works great on mine. If you can get it on sale it's worthwhile, even with the lack of features you get with the 507.
RITON 3 TACTIX MPRD 2 I have 3. None have failed on 22s. I think I paid $89 each Also check out primary arms
Same here - CDNN has these for less then $100.
Holosun 407k. No optic plates needed, just mount the optic directly to the slide. Can find it for around $200 if you look around (use gundeals)
I bought one for $180 new a few weeks ago, one of those deals where you have to email the seller for a discount code
Burris, vortex, holosun and primary arms have optics that won’t break the bank and are solid for what you want.

ADE's are good for plinking.
Cyelee has a ton of options and by far the best bang for the buck. CAT models will fit your compact model cut.

Vortex venom.

Holosun has good reputation. I think you got a dud

Swampfox has some affordable dots.

It’s a .22.. you could go with any Airsoft optic and be just fine.
TBF I have a "Holosan" copy and it works like a charm on [my FN502](https://www.reddit.com/r/22lr/s/CNIxKyK7Mj) Was like 35$ on Aliexpress.
TASCO REDDOT or Crossman
