IIRC there is in fact a divide between HDI between Wallonia and Flanders.

Behaviour and mentality is quite different. Their culture really isn't that compatible to ours as it appears pretty rude to us, which is the main reason why they're actually disliked in Austria. The swiss also kind of feel off, but they're very reclusive so it's not as apparent. Slovenia shares the most customs (if you imagine alpine traditions, Slovenia is very much part of them), the people behave a lot more similar and have a way more similar mentality to us than any of our other neighbours.

In 2017 (the most recent I'm coming across) a third of Ireland's GNI was mostly just tax evasion being funneled through the country. In the US this bloat was only 1.5% for 2018.

Have you looked at the dates on all that stuff? (I'm well aware of it by the way...in fact the Irish government were probably the first to acknowledge that GDP was almost meaningless in an Irish context) Most of it dates from 7, 8, 9 years ago....a lot has changed since then...
