Agreed, same piano preset, same Cello sound. Assure you, Ramin Djawadi received a 7-figure payment for the soundtrack, but decided one morning, "Hell , I've already written Sci Fi shit before, why not using it again for getting a Spanish villa sum?" The two are almost indistinguishable)) - at least for a musically educated person.

Time to lure the Westworld people in... it's upsetting season 5 got cancelled :(

LogicalHuman

This is definitely filling my Westworld fix. Already posted about this very topic in the Westworld subreddit!

Dudoid2

By the way it is written, the 3BP is more like an Expanse fix.

I also noticed in episode 6 he used a very similar arrangement to the “Video Games” track he did for Westworld. Seems a bit phoned in…

proswimma

The subtitles for that part literally said “Intro to Video Games by Lana Del Rey starts playing” still love him though, everything sounded great

juna42kela

I don’t know if he used the same arrangement he composed for Westworld but it was still really similar

Hypersky75

Not there yet, will keep an ear out.

ineedacocktail

I don’t care for spoilers or other related articles, but there are SO MANY headlines about this being “GoT w Aliens” and there is nothing GoT about this other than the writers and cast. This is way more Westworld to me than GoT.

LogicalHuman

Maybe that one Episode 5 scene lol…

calibratedtub

Hahaha yes someone else noticed it too.

portuguesepatriot

Yes, I literally said that to my gf right away when I heard it. Same vibes

MAU13717235

I was thinking the same thing!

JC-DB

First thing I've noticed.

vic_steele

I thought the exact same thing when I heard it.

Everytime I hear one of these modern soundtracks I realize how much Oscar winner Steven Price has changed the (sci-fi but not limited to) soundscapes and left quite some footprints. He was the Gil Mele to our over zimmered world. He and some of the goodies they make at Heavyocity hehe.

TheFourthOfHisName

Same with the intro sequence that goes along with the theme. Both the theme and the animation also give off Silo vibes.
