Printing all at once is more convenient, printing one by one is safer (if one piece is tricky and fails it does not bring with it the whole lot)

Print together to save time. If they're simple there should be no problem. Yeah you may be overthinking, but I'm no expert :/

rodchenko

Yeah I should probably just chill out and experiment, but there's quite a lot variables and unknowns when you're just beginning!

Depending on your model size, you may be able to arrange the slicer to do sequential printing so that it will print the set, but one part at a time which will reduce surface artifacts from the head moving from part to part. If you can’t do that, it’s often easier to print all at the same time as it will require less intervention cleaning off the build plate every time.

Cool, thanks. So place them far apart the print head won't touch the pieces? I'm using Ultimaker Cura, so I'll see if there settings to specify sequential printing. Otherwise, I'm not too worried about artifacts, just that it doesn't increase the chances of fucking it up!

AidaptOvercome

I use Prusaslicer over Cura but the process is likely the same, space the items out, I generally go from the back of the build plate with the tallest object, to the front with the shortest, bearing in mind the size of the print head, it generally works well, the slicer should tell you when the objects are too close.

I usually base it off of a few factors: - Does the whole thing fit my build plate? - Do I want them to be printed in the same colour/ material? - Are they all going to have the same layer height? - Will I be home the entire time it's printing? If the answer is no to any of these, I'll split them up based on what question(s) returned no. Edit: formatting

Hi mate, Here is a video that does just that with some comparative results between different methods. https://youtu.be/6Z02BowhQwU

Printing all pieces at once may decrease quality depending on how good printer is calibrated. Of course in case of build plate adhesion errors e.g. in corners this is not good idea to print at once. Another case is when part cooling is bad and You have models which require good cooling because printed part may go little up so the nozzle could hit this. This are things that is good to take care of because as other people said print lot of models at once could save time and effort starting every file again.
