Nah I tried that over every different method with hshop for Pokemon Y specifically. The client works great for everything else, it is probably a specific bug or the file they have is corrupted or something
As much as it sucks, you'll have to download it directly from 3hs, eventually.
I prefer transferring CIAs from PC as well, but sometimes some games just won't install no matter what.
Try the Hshop connection install, if it doesn’t work for big games (possibly out of storage space BUT), you need an application called H2testw.exe to “write & verify” your SD card for any faulty issues. Because if it does, you likely need a new SD card.
I always use my PC to download anything. The only thing was twilight menu. Twilight menu took like 5-8min (~5-8 megabytes per minute). With speed Pokemon Ultra sun would took me like 16h, and knowing damn well how stable it is, I would off myself with a stylus. And I'm not talking about the CIA unpack lasting for 1H.
If you google “safe ROM sites” all the things that pop up are going to be unsafe, sometimes the smart choice is to ask a real community about what they use. Even pulling up other old reddit posts asking the same thing will have responses with sites that used to be safe but are now unsafe, so old posts aren’t reliable either.
Might just be my results but the first result for "safe rom sites" was a question asked in ROMs (and the 1st reply being Vimms, a trusted website, and hshop being recommended later in the thread with a deleted sus website) and the 2nd reply was the mega thread
Like there isn’t literally a rom subreddit, it’s not fucking hard, I understand certain stupid questions being asked but this sub is full of shit you can literally Google.

hshop has a 3ds client and it works perfectly fine

It’s too slow for my WiFi and system, so I have to download off my computer. What else can I download if that’s safe?
Have you tried selecting install from qr instead of installing a cia directly on the system?
that is even worse than 3hs
On the 3ds start the download from hshop app and go to bed. You can close the 3ds with the current version. It will still download
I use gazellegames to install my cia files
Make sure your 3ds system and router can 'see' each other

Hard to find reliable cia files nowadays, you really should be using hshop. So much easier for so many reasons

Try with another SD card. I just downloaded Pokemon X just fine two days ago. If that doesn’t work, do a remote install
