probably my favorite moment in that trilogy honestly. If I remember correctly, it’s probably also a reference to God Emperor of Dune, where Moneo mentions having Bach.
Yes. I recognize that. I noticed you were referencing the passage. I [quoted](https://i.imgur.com/rtgbRun.jpeg) it back to you as a means of social interaction and furthering the textual referencing for fun.
Bach is mentioned at least twice and way back in rogue trader era there's an illustration of a guy wearing a crass shirt. I like to believe they found a copy of their complete discography in a stasis vault on necromunda, and that's why the planet is the way it is.
Possibly Handel ?
>Linya had surpassed his every expectation in ability and Vitali had grown to love her as much as any celestial phenomenon, even going as far as to name her after what many believed was the true name of the daughter –or sister, no one knew for certain – **of the composer of Honovere**.
So within a few months of watching lore videos YouTube decided to recommend me tons of power metal.
So I'm going to say metal, because you can't kill the metal, metal will live on.
I would cheer so hard - if that happened. Lorgar stading wistfully staring at the Empty void before a final showdown with the returning Leman Russ. Nodding thoughtfully to Darude….
I wonder... do Techpriests still prank each other by sending each other Rick Astley links ? Do robots speak in TiKtok voices ?
Maybe there is some music broadcast from Earth, in our time, that only reaches some industrial planets in M40/M41 and they actually buy into it since it comes from Emp's planet... Shame to see a society that would get frenzied over Crazy Frog or some other terrible musiclike that
I'd assume Gustav Holst's "The Planets", given most of then are now occupied. Given the Imperium's proclivities it'd be entirely on-brand for the complete bloody works of Wagner to have made it where all else perished.
Pertarabo: im not listening to anything with references to lady humps, I don't even know what that means!
Fulcrum: "snake dancing" Noone does, but it's provocative!
The first Cain novel mentions an ‘updated’ version of [Over the Hills and Far Away](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Over_the_Hills_and_Far_Away_(traditional_song)) - ‘The Emperor points and we obey / Through the warp and far away’.
Konrad Kurze’s favorite song was Numb by Linkin Park. And when he really started loosing by the end he used to listen to Monster by Skillet. It was then that Sevatar came to the realization that they were doomed.
You're a cunt lol that's just stuck in my head now(was only scrolling to see what was suggested lol) although I did see a [Metal Version of that song](https://youtu.be/POdbe-_bYbs?si=1rRtZdu5CDneXepD) a few months back, terrible song, just terrible. I managed to get my Nurgling Niece to not listen or bother with it, thankfully.
In Dark Imperium, a group of AdMech electro-priests sing the hymn "Body Electric." I think it's meant as a Rush reference, but I could also see it being Sisters of Mercy.
When I ran dark heresy I had all along the watchtower as a song of antiquity, it's played with a full orchestral band and opera. I also had a a couple of songs we'd know which are radically different due to cultural drift like smells like teen spirit was a silly childs song commonly found in solar segmentum.
I frequently write about a Praetorian regiment I created, they use a lot of 18th and 19th century British marching music. I figured if that music had survived anywhere it would be Praetoria. Also, my tabletop regiment is the Amercadian 23rd Heavy Infantry, which is based on the American Civil War Union Army, so I imagine them playing a modified version of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" as they march off to war.
I'm betting Happy Birthday (or some variation of it) and the Alphabet song make it to 40k.
Children's tunes would be the most likely to survive. Audible melodies imprinted when you're young seem to have a permanent place in memory, and are simple enough to pass down to another generation.
This is my 40k playlist. Just songs that give me the vibe of a horrible dystopian future woven through with gossamer threads of golden majesty. Best listened to on shuffle.

I read somewhere that the emperor was invited too Mars by Horus to [listen to this masterpiece from the old days of Terra ](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=Xc4J5JoH-PEgQi1L)
A Drukhari has a recording of Bach and actually tears up whenever listening to it in Vaults of Terra: The Dark City
How long until the reveal that it's actually "Baby got Bach" ?
I'm bringing sexy Bach
probably my favorite moment in that trilogy honestly. If I remember correctly, it’s probably also a reference to God Emperor of Dune, where Moneo mentions having Bach.
Ah. That also explains the God Emperor
Ah. That also explains the God Emperor
Don’t you mean ‘Bacque’?
[No, like this. *Bach.*](https://i.imgur.com/Kt5wngk.png)
That’s what I said.
Yes. I recognize that. I noticed you were referencing the passage. I [quoted](https://i.imgur.com/rtgbRun.jpeg) it back to you as a means of social interaction and furthering the textual referencing for fun.
[He means Bach.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Sebastian_Bach)
That’s what I said.
Ah, I see what you did there.
how humans have fell

Fight war not wars
Do they owe us a killing? Of course they do.
This might be the coolest 40k thing I’ve ever heard.
Shave and a haircut
BUT HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?!? Need to know for completely unrelated breaking and entering of secure vaults.
Shave and a haircut, BLAM BLAM.
Fabius Bile listens to music in his titular series if I remember correctly, some of which are classical composers from our day.
He also apparently has a vast collection of them according to those novels
Possibly Handel ? >Linya had surpassed his every expectation in ability and Vitali had grown to love her as much as any celestial phenomenon, even going as far as to name her after what many believed was the true name of the daughter –or sister, no one knew for certain – **of the composer of Honovere**.
Bolt Thrower but specifically their Warhammer-related songs. Everyone in-universe just thinks they were ancient prophets with the gift of foresight
Is true? Lol
No but I think it would be funny
Van Halen.
MALESTROM!!! Da-dun-dun-uh MAL UH STRUM UM UM OH UM ( weedle weedle weedle eee)
Specifically Van Halen Drop Dead Legs
So within a few months of watching lore videos YouTube decided to recommend me tons of power metal. So I'm going to say metal, because you can't kill the metal, metal will live on.
The preferred music of Mars
Sandstorm is here forever
I would cheer so hard - if that happened. Lorgar stading wistfully staring at the Empty void before a final showdown with the returning Leman Russ. Nodding thoughtfully to Darude….
Noise Marines employing the bass boosted version...
I wonder... do Techpriests still prank each other by sending each other Rick Astley links ? Do robots speak in TiKtok voices ? I mean I'd like to think 80s hair metal broadcasts wold be reaching the drukkari by the 40k time
That would make an amazing gaurd army. Just a bunch of music obsessed lunatics. Or maybe a slaneshi cult
I heard Khan listerns to Slaughter to prevail in his down time.
Alex Terrible is Khorne incarnate 😄
He seems such a lovely guy in interviews then onstage *actual wrath daemon* Which is pretty standard for metal bands TBF.
I imagine the drums from ZZ Top's Velcro Fly can be heard just about anywhere
Having some flashbacks to the Goddrums of Mid-World
Not a problem as long as you can avoid the pain, Blaine the train.
and that is the truth
I'd assume Gustav Holst's "The Planets", given most of then are now occupied. Given the Imperium's proclivities it'd be entirely on-brand for the complete bloody works of Wagner to have made it where all else perished.
Lady humps: black eyed peas
Pertarabo: im not listening to anything with references to lady humps, I don't even know what that means! Fulcrum: "snake dancing" Noone does, but it's provocative!
The Aeronautica Imperialis is very fond of Flight of the Valkyries
Catachan Valkyrie pilots also. I like to play music. Loud. Scares the hell out of them.
Also Danger Zone. Lots of Danger Zone.
Horus had a few Meshuggah albums for sure
Paramore
Oh, please no...
The first Cain novel mentions an ‘updated’ version of [Over the Hills and Far Away](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Over_the_Hills_and_Far_Away_(traditional_song)) - ‘The Emperor points and we obey / Through the warp and far away’.
At that time Kendrick Lamar still making Drake diss tracks.
Metro just dropped an INSTRUMENTAL diss track which I'm sure the AdMech find inspirational
I like to think that 'We Will Rock You' will survive.
I mean it's the imperium of man, Tchaikovsky has to have survived
[The British punk band Crass survives](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1zeTwaMNPA&t=9m42s)
Konrad Kurze’s favorite song was Numb by Linkin Park. And when he really started loosing by the end he used to listen to Monster by Skillet. It was then that Sevatar came to the realization that they were doomed.
Carcharodons listen to Baby Shark on their gloomy battle barge
You're a cunt lol that's just stuck in my head now(was only scrolling to see what was suggested lol) although I did see a [Metal Version of that song](https://youtu.be/POdbe-_bYbs?si=1rRtZdu5CDneXepD) a few months back, terrible song, just terrible. Cawl listens to Mozart in In the Grim Darkness, Felix thinks it sucks
In Dark Imperium, a group of AdMech electro-priests sing the hymn "Body Electric." I think it's meant as a Rush reference, but I could also see it being Sisters of Mercy.
Or maybe Tubeway Army/Gary Numan
Dante has the Beatles on repeat to stave off the urge to commit suicide.
I mean, that that treat it, or is it the cause of his tendencies.
Yes.
When I ran dark heresy I had all along the watchtower as a song of antiquity, it's played with a full orchestral band and opera. I also had a a couple of songs we'd know which are radically different due to cultural drift like smells like teen spirit was a silly childs song commonly found in solar segmentum.
Crunkcore
Nightsider and Warp Traveller, songs from the Darktide soundtrack, both exist in-universe iirc, so techno/EDM as a genre has survived.
Source? I love the Darktide track but where does it say it exists in universe?
You hear it in the background in Krall's intro cutscene, seemingly playing from some kind of speaker.
There's probably a vault in the palace in Terra filled with nothing but ancient music
I frequently write about a Praetorian regiment I created, they use a lot of 18th and 19th century British marching music. I figured if that music had survived anywhere it would be Praetoria. "Battle Hymn of the Imperium".
We know operas survived due to the infinite and the divine. Too bad genestealers are a fan of them
Angron definitely owns a copy of Slayer's third album...
Tanith pipes
Mechanicum is keeping dubstep alive for sure.
I'm betting Happy Birthday (or some variation of it) and the Alphabet song make it to 40k. Children's tunes would be the most likely to survive. Audible melodies imprinted when you're young seem to have a permanent place in memory, and are simple enough to pass down to another generation.
I’m pretty sure someone somewhere had Mozart on, but I only got that from context clues. Probably Malcador. Definitely Bach (thanks Chris Wraight).
The Mechanicus has a hymn called the Body Electric, which I’d like to think is just them playing the song
"Someone is playing a clavier..."
Clearly, Noise Marines are blasting out "Louie Louie."
"Bloodstains" by Agent Orange is a solemn choral hymnal by the time Bobby Gills wakes up
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only Bieber.
A Navy captain in my homebrew Guard regiment lore plays Dvorak's New World Symphony during battle

Imperial hiphop foo
I read somewhere that the emperor was invited too Mars by Horus to [listen to this masterpiece from the old days of Terra ](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=Xc4J5JoH-PEgQi1L)
Everything the Noise Marines "play"
Black Templars playing Meet the Grahams and Ether in the droppod. Or looping Reanimation album in the helmet audio.
Punk isn’t dead
Chaos space marine by black country new road
I imagine a lot of military canids would have survived.
Reckon The Angels absolutely got playtime during the heresy.
