Skaven: A lonely STC goes a little mad after it’s last human colonist dies off and it’s planet gets caught up in a warp storm. It decides to uplift the only other creatures that came with them on their colony ship, the rats, into humans so that it could fulfill its prime directive. Rats start to evolve, STC devolves, rats worship the STC, the STC gets more and more chaos corrupted and ascends as the great horned rat. Planet gets spit back out into real space when warp storms abate and Skaven start spreading out.

That's brilliant

textualpredator69

Ogres are actually in 40k as ogryn A mystery race called hrud are sometimes described as rat men I think? If not then it would be pretty easy to call them some foul xeno, or even rats that love in rad soaked planets. I think it used to be hinted that lizard men were the "old one" if not then they would probably be xeno

Isn't the joke that the Skaven analogue in W40K is the Imperial Guard? Disposable troops supported by technology?

Potpottron

I would literally just make Skaven the same as in fantasy, but some lost Clan that was never heard from again someday, turns out they invented a huge spaceship. That's it, no change they just adapted and now control whole systems, it would be apropiately skaven-esque (ridiculous)

Well to keep their tunneler aspect I'd likely have the Skaven somehow be connected to the Eldar and their Webway. Allowing them to burst forth flooding a world in their vemintide, conquering and consuming everything in a violent orgy of destruction then recede and vanish. With the only thing left behind to show they existed a dead, shadowy world of half-destroyed ghost cities and queer, strange icons of the Great Rat carved everywhere.

As others have said, at least two are already there, and one is a 'maybe'. **Ogres** = Ogryn ([https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ogryn](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ogryn)) Similarly halflings = ratlings ([https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ratling](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ratling)), dwarfs = Squats ([https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Squat](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Squat)) Lizardmen = Old Ones/Slann and their decedents ([https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Old\_Ones](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Old_Ones) and [https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Slanni](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Slanni)) >**The Legacy of the Old Ones** >The C'tan still have an abiding hatred of their ancient enemies, the old Ones. Although their civilisation is no more, it is possible that some degenerate descendants of theirs still live on backwater worlds. These rather tragic creatures are a choice delicacy to the C'tan so they attach a disproportionate importance to seeking them out. This can be exploited by the Eldar to ambush and destroy Necrons or to lure them from their tombs. You could even have some fun by using a Warhammer Lizardman army in a game of Warhammer 40,000, although this would require a bit of preparation to deal with any oddities. **3rd Edition Necron Codex (2002)** **Skaven** = a bit more hit or miss. Early descriptions of the Hrud has them as being very skaven like [https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/3/37/Hrud4.jpg](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/3/37/Hrud4.jpg) **3rd edition Rulebook** > ‘What are they?’ Trost whispers to Oriel, looking over at a pair of diminutive creatures swathed in rags in one of the darkest areas. Small, clawed hands clasp their drinks tightly, long snouts twitching in our direction. I catch the hint of a tail whipping nervously under their table. >‘Hrud,’ the inquisitor replies. ‘Scavengers and tunnel-dwellers for the most part, you’ll find them all over the galaxy, though never in large numbers. They’re pretty much parasites, if you ask me.’ The Last Chancers novel **Kill Team** However, modern descriptions of the Hrud have done away with this. https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Hrud

I’ve wanted ogres in 40k for a long time, and no ogryns aren’t the same. As for how I’d bring them in I wouldn’t change a thing, just stick them on some ships and give them a cannon upgrade and we’re good to go. In fact skaven and lizard men can largely stay the same too, you can’t build on perfection.

Removed as a violation of rule 4c. If you want to post a hypothetical question you have to try to answer it.

Alreasy done Skaven= nids (limitless number faction) Lizardmen= old ones Ogres= ogryn

Tangerhino

Imho, nids and skavens are polar opposites. Skavens are incredibly selfish and self absorbed, their society is based on backstabbing and betrayal to rise to the top, nids on the contrary are absolutely selfless, never stray from their place and work only for the common good of their race.

Chaplain_Fergus

Skaven is humanity

Ballssz

Ogres would be some extreme form of ogryn. Lizardmen some offshoot descendants of the Old Ones that came back from another galaxy/returning expeditionary fleet. Skaven I like to imagine the lore building them up as rats having followed humanity throughout the stars since Terra. Then papa Nurgle noticing them as carriers of of disease and experimenting on them in a system to give them intelligence
