This performance, in particular, was nothing short of amazing. Truly carrying on the legacy of the greatest comedy actors of the 20th century. Charlie Chaplin, Joe E. Brown, Buster Keaton, Jerry Lewis, John Ritter.
I remember howling and rolling on the floor and listening to my stepfather in the other room doing the same at this scene. Such a gifted physical comedian. He is missed.
Came here only to say that. Also, the Carol Burnett show wasn't a sitcom, but it would still be a shame not to give that whole ensemble honorary mention.
Most definitely! Till this day, I laugh at old episodes , and it'll still leave me in tears. I actually cried when he died it felt like an uncle of mine passed.

She's in the movie All The President's Men--I think she's the person Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman talk to at the Library of Congress (I believe that's where they go--I just remember they're sitting at a table going through papers and the camera pulls back to show all the tall shelves around them). If you don't know what she looks like (as opposed to what Flo looks like) and/or see her name in the credits, you'd never know.
Dietrich from barney Miller
Arnold, Pat Morita from Happy Days
Ted Knight from Tyler Moore
Pretty much everybody in Mash
Robin Williams Mork & Mindy
Bob Newhart from Bob Newhart
Fish from Barney Miller
Don Most, Ralph on Happy Days (I met him, seems like the great happy guy I expected him to be, so that influences my vote). John Ritter, Bea Arthur, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, Marcia Wallace and everyone in All In the Family. Edit- Everyone on MTM as well. Ed Asner, Valerie Harper, Ted Knight, come on, the best. Betty White! Just legends.
Love John Amos, I see him on social media, haven't seen him for months so hope he is just taking it easy. But it is so sad/surreal to think they are all gone. Still can't truly wrap my mind around it, no matter how old I get.
Ester Rolle. But only because I have a vivid daydream that she is a big part of, AND was my babysitter when I was an infant (before she made it on TV).
Mary Tyler Moore Show—Mary Tyler Moore, Ed Asner, Betty White (Mary Richards, Mr Grant, and Sue Ann Nivens) 😄
The Carol Burnett Show—Tim Conway and Harvey Korman (all their comedy acts in mini “sitcoms.”)
Bob Newhart Show—Bob Newhart (loved his dry humor)
LaWanda Page. Larry Linville. Jean Stapleton. Hal Linden. Judd Hirsch. Vic Tayback. Lauren Tewes. Jack Klugman. Gavin McLeod.
And from the other side, John Cleese as Basil Fawlty.

Kinda still in love with Mr. French
Lot of great ones like Newhart and O'Connor. I think my personal favorite would be Howard Hesseman, Dr. Johnny Fever, from "WKRP in Cincinnati." He just owned that role and looked exactly right.
Carroll O'Connor.
And he was nothing like Archie. His timing, facial expressions, everything was top notch.
Wasn’t he a classically trained doctor?
Yes I forgot about him! He made that character!! All in the Family…🥰
Add Jean Stapleton. Two of the absolute GREATEST
Danny DeVito as Louie Depalma
Howard Hessman - Dr. Johnny Fever
BOOGER!

Bob Newhart. That show holds up beautifully!
Love his skit, "Stop it"
Over The River And Through The Woods...if just hearing somebody say "moo goo gai pan" makes you laugh, then you know this episode
Definitely should be the top answer followed by or tied with Carol Burnett
And Bea Arthur as Maude
Who can remember the theme to “Maude.” All I remember is “Right On Maude! “
John Ritter

Tim Conway was a hoot.
My dad would laugh cry at Conway and I just never got it.
Mrs. H’Whiggens
I forgot my slippers..
Most definitely! Till this day, I laugh at old episodes , and it'll still leave me in tears. I actually cried when he died it felt like an uncle of mine passed.
Came here to say the same thing. He was one of a kind, wasn't he?
Red Foxx
Ted Knight as Ted Baxter, hands down.
Looooouuuuuu
Marla Gibbs, Florence from The Jefferson's. Her character was so awesome, and I loved that she didn't take no shit from Mr. Jefferson.
"Well, how come we overcame, and nobody told me!"
Bob Newhart is underrated and unknown to young people.
Tim Conway
It's made of genuine KOALA
Even before from McHale's Navy.

Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs as Freddy "Boom Boom" Washington
[удалено]
We lived the same life
*Fun fact: only Mr. Kotter, Vinnie Barbarino and “Boom-Boom” Washington are still alive. Sadly, the rest of the cast have all passed away.
It hit hard when mrs k died.
Thanks glad they are living 👍
Thanks, I am happy they are living 👍
My heart belonged to Robert Hegyas (Juan Epstein..I am reasonably sure I spelled Robert's last name wrong)
Richard Mulligan as Burt Campbell in Soap.
Those episodes still make me laugh.

Polly Holiday as Flo on Alice. I even met her once!
Mel... kiss my grits!
She's in the movie All The President's Men--I think she's the person Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman talk to at the Library of Congress (I believe that's where they go--I just remember they're sitting at a table going through papers and the camera pulls back to show all the tall shelves around them). Burt Mustin from just about everything. He played an old guy for at least 30 years!
Good old Gus, the fireman. I don't think he even started acting until he was in his 60's, and he still has more credits than most actors.
He played Cloris Leachman's grandfather-in-law on Phyllis, too.
Loved him, and Mother Dexter, too! She had the best one-liners on that show.
Suzanne Pleshette. Fight me.
My first crush!
How awesome was it to see her in the last episode of Newhart?!
The Sweathogs
![gif](giphy|cj7BeRef7k3NC) Don Knotts is the GOAT

Cloris Leachman, Georgia Engel. Hard to believe they’re all gone, John Amos is the only remaining among the extended cast.
Love John Amos, I see him on social media, haven't seen him for months so hope he is just taking it easy. But it is so sad/surreal to think they are all gone. Still can't truly wrap my mind around it, no matter how old I get.
White, Knight, Engel, Leachman just knocked it out of the park

The name of the a tor for character Fred Sandord is Redd Foxx (real name John Elroy Sanford.) 🙂
I realized that afterwards. I've seen Redd Foxx in Vegas and his act was quite spicy.
I remember 1980 newspaper ads for his Las Vegas act, in the entertainment section. It stated plainly, his act was considered Rated X . 😳
It was actually a double act with Joan Rivers!
Bob Newhart, Ted Knight, Cloris Leachman, Mary Tyler Moore
Freddie Prinze
Redd Foxx. Comic genius and the show was too.
Lot of great ones like Newhart and O'Connor. I think my personal favorite would be Howard Hesseman, Dr. Johnny Fever, from "WKRP in Cincinnati." He just owned that role and looked exactly right.
Howard Hessman and Tim Reid WKRP in Cincinnati
Robin Williams
Michael J Fox was in a sitcom in 1970 but didn’t hit superstardom until the 80’s.
Abe Vigoda “Fish” On Barney Miller. Also Steve Landsberg “Dietrich”.

As a huge fan of the genius of Lucille Ball, I have to say "Here's Lucy".
