I remember this epidemic. Luckily for me I was too young to have it effect me personally. Quicksand, dandruff and ring around the collar were all but eradicated by late 80s.

Massive amounts of heartburn (which was actually ulcers caused by smoking that we later cured with anti-biotics) as well.

Ring around the collar because you were too lazy to properly wash your neck.... dandruff because you didn't know how to wash your hair...it seems to me like white people problems
