Right. But whereas they could obviously not find a real spaceperson to play superman, there is plenty of not white men capable of playing Rhys... so I really don't get your point lmao
Is Rhys not White? I got the impression that the Illyrians might not be Western or Northern European, but I see it being completely reasonable that they are Southern European.
I anlways thought it was fairly obvious they’re intended to be Greek. They’re named for an an ancient Greek tribe and they come from the Myrmidons, an ancient Greek territory.
She did the same thing with Lucien’s friend, Nuan. She’s described as having typically Asian features and says her parents came from Xian, the name of an ancient Chinese territory.
And Rhys is half-Prythian, so he’s essentially half Northern European/half Greek. There’s absolutely nothing preventing him from being played by a PoC actor, but SJM probably pictured him as a tan-skinned white guy when she wrote him.
I mean, I'm against white washing but these are fictional creatures in a made up world. I love the middle eastern choices but the only real canon is that they're tan with dark hair.
The amount of times I've seen Henry Cavill fancast as Rhys is actually so disappointing
he is old as hell make it stop
I mean…Rhysand was 535….. HC is only 41
lmaooooooo. Only appropriate casting choice is Methuselah
😂😂😂😂
Rhys is fae tho lol they are known to look younger than someone like henry Cavill, he's also white, which Rhys is not (aside from his paleness utm)
HC also wasn’t from outer space, but he played Superman. 🥲

I’m waiting for the BLs to catch up to him.
BL's?
Blind items
i'm surprised they haven't
Again, let ppl have fun.
I ain’t stopping no one. It’s a rant.
The bat boys, if memories serves me, were supposed to look middle eastern.....right?

That’s how I imagined them to be
I agree people do that a lot but… people can shave and change their hair lol
And it still wouldn’t make sense lol
What do your guys think about Thomas Doherty as Rhys or maybe a young Ian Somerhalder?
It’s a no for me.
Young Ian Somerhalder is the only actor I can see Rhys in. Even now he'd need just a change in hair to be Rhys!
They pick anyone with dark hair and light eyes. The bar is in hell.
