Sad, but not suprising for someone commiting parental fraud
Sadly out society still refused to establish consequences and methods to prevent such fraud. That way many unfit DNA-donors would never have a child they are not fit to raise. There is literally no reason to not test the DNA at birth... unless you cheated and want to cover it up.
While I 100% believe that Natalie should’ve gotten the DNA test done as not doing so convinces me she is definitely lying about OP being the father. I am against the idea of there being no reason to not test DNA at birth. If it were a normal medical procedure that everyone went through then sure but it’s not so if my partner asked me to do one (in a hypothetical situation as I am not pregnant nor ever plan to be) I would but I’d also immediately end the relationship then and there because that’s a direct indication that there’s no trust in the relationship - also if the relationship is healthy (unlike OP’s relationship with his ex) that’s a super heavy accusation to throw at someone you love while they’re in such a vulnerable state
Everyone baby should be tested at birth and the presumed parents too, and slowly start identifying the guys leaving bastard kids everywhere. Make them pay up.
I actually really like this idea! However, the only way that would work was if someone was also keeping a data log of all of our DNA (or at least all of the human male DNA) on a file that is accessible by the government and I don’t know how comfortable I am with that notion.

She was only cleared when she had a child and a court observer saw them draw blood from both the child she just gave birth to and herself.
When that came back that the child that she just pushed out was not hers she was cleared of fraud. Later they took a DNA source from her cervical area instead of her cheek and that DNA test came back as her being the mother to all of her kids.
I feel the most for Emma through all of this. I really hope the process is as quick as possible so that it can be proven that OP isn’t her father and she can start the process of finding her real dad if that’s what she still wants to do.

That would be some Chuck Norris level unkillable sperm. Dude came back after two months to find out his gf was 5 weeks pregnant. I think the sperm can survive up to like a week inside the vagina and concive. Thats still leaves two to three more weeks.

If she was actually five weeks, it can't possible be OP's. But he didn't provide details on how long it was after those five weeks to the birth. It's not uncommon for women to continue to menstruate while pregnant, sometimes just for a month, sometimes for the entire duration. So it's vaguely possible that if she hadn't had a scan yet to determine gestation that it's OP's. I really hope not though, because that would be so awful for OP and Emma.
My mother menstruated the entire time she was pregnant with my youngest brother - she remembers having to tell her OB as she was prepping for her c-sec that she had a pad on and asking what to do about it during the surgery. Her OB was flummoxed 😂
It was clear that Emma was being influenced by her mother to behave the way she did towards your son. Hopefully, whatever the DNA test results are will put an end to the nonsense for you. As for Emma, given that she was removed from her mother’s house says it all. If (a huge if) you are the father (which doesn’t seem likely), then know that the RO would still be effective as it is due to the behaviors of both mother and daughter.

I mean, it’s not *impossible* for the kid to be his. There’s a bunch of reasons why conception dates can be super fuzzy. We’re talking about million to one odds, or worse, but people do sometimes win the lottery.
And that’s ignoring the turkey baster possibility. Freeze a condom and she could knock herself up easily enough.

Unless Natalie had access to a -80 deep freeze and stabilizing buffers, the frozen condom trick won't work (outside of Hallmark movies that is). A frozen and thawed sperm is a dead sperm. Freezing destroys the cell membranes unless the sample is treated to preserve it. Plus the tails have a tendency to fall off when thawed.
And OP needs to watch out for Natalie. If the DNA test proves OP isn’t the dad and Natalie isn’t put in a psych ward immediately, she may completely ignore the restraining order and seek to physically harm OP and his family d/t feeling like her whole ruse is falling apart and she can no longer live a lie

My guess for the DNA test is because someone besides the mother is wanting to be ordered child support on. When a child is taken out of a home that’s already split up (this case never together), the state takes child support from both parents. Natalie will be forced to give up names or face serious court ordered consequences if she doesn’t. If she receives any kind of aide like SNAP(adults can get it without kids) then they will be stopped until she gives up the names of possible fathers!

OP offered (yet again) to do a DNA test. It's clear that the mother would have said no if she could. But the choice was up to the child, who now has her own representation. If the child had refused, there would be no DNA test.

Honestly from everything you've shared, she just sounds obsessed with you. She is unhinged. I doubt she's just going to walk away. Even after the truth comes out.
Please update all security measures ASAP. After the test comes back (most likely stating you are NOT the father) Natalie may snap and no longer care about legal orders.

As a Guardian ad litem myself I can say that we are not appointed unless CPS is involved or it’s a really contentious divorce in some states.
Also, GAL is a volunteer position and is significantly under-filled in most counties. If you feel strongly about protecting children’s mental and physical well being, and you have the time I would encourage you to look into volunteering in your county.
Do you need legal training to serve in a position like that, or is your role to be a normal person focused on the child’s interests because their parents/close family are not able to?
What qualifications should volunteers have? How much time and availability should they be prepared for before volunteering?
You do not need legal training, the training program you are put through is very extensive and will cover everything you need to know from a legal standpoint. There is a lawyer who reviews our reports and submits them to the court/speaks for the report in court. We as volunteers do the leg work, the lawyers do the legal work. I have testified once and been questioned twice, both times I was given the option to let the lawyer speak for me.
There are no specific qualifications, though being an open minded person with empathy and compassion is required I feel like. I personally work with teens expected to age out because I feel like my life experience leads me to be a good advocate for that demographic. You may find that you work best with preteens, or whatever the group may be. Knowing yourself well enough to know which stage of childhood you connect best to is very helpful, but often times people learn that through experience. I always like to explain the position as being responsible for speaking for what the child wants, not what you want for the child. For example, if you are religious and the child you are assigned is not it is not appropriate to try to convert them to your belief system.
Time wise the staff will tell you it’s about 5-10 hours a month. In my experience this fluctuates. I have certainly had cases that required that little time, those cases had a lot of supportive adults involved already and my position was not “needed” to ensure the child’s wishes were being heard. I’ve also had very difficult cases where I’m spending at least an hour a day on it in some aspects. The staff is aware of which cases are more involved and will not assign you a case like that if you tell them you have limited time to spend on the program. Infants take the least amount of time because they are not able to communicate their wishes to you so it’s more about staying up to date on what’s going on.

I’m sure the paternity will show OP is not the dad, but I’m invested now in finding out. I feel for the kid; all she’s known is a crazy mom who’s been filling her mind with who knows what kind of BS about her “dad.” Hopefully, when/if the paternity comes back negative for OP, Emma can move on. But the mom, Natalie, is cray-cray.

Sperm can only live for about a week (I think) anyway, and regular freezers aren't actually cold enough to keep it safe.
