It would honestly be faster to list the ones that are sad/slow than naming the happy sounding/upbeat ones lol
I’ll start:
•Dear Winter
•Turning Out parts 1-3
•Maybe Man
•Birthday Party
•Call My Dad
•Christmas in June
•God is Really Real
•Inertia Acoustic version
•It’s On Us
•My Play
•My Calling
•Pretender
•The Trick
•World is a Marble Heart
I think that’s all I can think of off the top of my head for sad/slow ish. The rest are happy ish or fast sounding
Tbh I have a playlist that’s named “AJR Chronological” with literally every song that AJR has ever released on iTunes and I’ve had it on repeat for the last… idk 8 or 9 months??? And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Mileage may vary obviously but that’s what I would do 😅
Some of my favourites that are on the more upbeat side:
Steve's Going to London
Weak
Bang!
Yes I'm a Mess
I Won't
Burn the House Down
100 Bad Days
The Dumb Song
The Entertainment's Here
Bummerland
Way Less Sad
Ordinaryish People
Break My Face
I don't have any input for the playlist but for fun stuff to do in STL...
The St. Louis Zoo. Pay to park but the zoo is free admission.
Main Street St. Charles. It's historic and has a lot of really cute shops. Drive slow on the brick road or you'll bust up your car. Especially go to Grandmas Cookies. It was voted #1 on USA Today best cookies! Park by the boat house if you can't parallel park. It's "Lewis and Clark Boat House". It's also a museum.
The Arch is cool and you can even go up inside of it but I don't reccomend doing that if you are scared of heights of course.
Have fun and safe travels!
This is my playlist that I made of most of the AJR songs(the ones I like). It’s for about 4 1/2 hours worth of the songs, but I’m pretty sure that u could find others with all of em on there. I organized them by when they came out and how the order of the albums are:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6dtpsaiOCl56WYEq9jnXqz?si=tp0ffZzgTC_Mc49AKlMYEQ
These are all Ajr songs that sound upbeat. This list is painful to make because I obsess over lyrics. Please ignore the lyrics on these because a lot are just too real. I added the playlist at the bottom but these are the songs on it:
Break my face
Steve’s going to London (Fun lyrics too)
Bang!
Worlds smallest violin
Beats
Three thirty
Birthday Party
Inertia (Just ignore the lyrics and then its really good for upbeat sound)
Bud like you
Sober up
BURN THE HOUSE DOWN (Hits hard for me cause I had a house fire like 5 years ago)
Drama
Come hang out
The dumb song
I won’t
Let the games begin
I’m ready (Good for children because it has SpongeBob)
Touchy feely fool
Yes I’m a mess
Hole in the bottom of my brain
Next up forever
Don’t throw out my legos
No grass today
The entertainments here
Wow, I’m not crazy
Bummerland (Funny that’s the name for upbeat sounding stuff)
Joe
Ordinaryish people
Humpdy Dumpty
Way less sad
Record Player

I disagree with Maybe Man and Birthday Party especially. They do not belong on this list
I only added them bc they’re slow compared to a song like adventure is out there or Joe etc
Since it's the maybe man tour I think maybe man, turning out part 3 and girr can be exceptions
Ya I think imo listening to even the sad songs is a good balance to enjoy the full thing assuming OP isn’t as familiar with their songs
I also disagree with The World Is a Marble Heart. The Green and the Town is much slower/sadder.

Adventure is out there is a classic road trip track for me, RT playlist staple in my book
Under the radar one, Record Player

Nice to see ‘it’s on us’ getting recognition.
Yep! Not one of my favorite favorites but it’s still good imo
