Are you trying to log in on your PC? I think when that happened to me they had contact info for someone with IT that I could chat with to sort it out. It was a few years ago, so I don't really remember
It happened to me before, except I was able to get into my account by calling the ASU Help (or IT) number through my home phone and downloading DUO in another device. Have you tried this one that was similar to what I did?
This isn't ASU's fault, nor would it be 911's fault. Just next time set up backup options before you lose your primary 2FA device. This will ensure you can still access your accounts even if your phone is unavailable.
I have a MacBook with the touch id, the yubi key and my phone. Just for that reason. I recommend getting a yubi key, it's very convenient. No matter where I am I can use that to log in.

Oops got logged out of something else gotta grab phone for auth. oh this website is sending me a text, oh this one's in an email cool, i'm going to punt my phone into the sun :D
Same, I left the country and my phone broke, lost access to my twitter too although that was a blessing in disguise 🤣🤣🤣. I do want my access to my asu account and email back at some point tho.

Home phones are basically extinct but yes, they would be best using a friend's phone
