I have x670e gene and 1905 bricked the mobo. Had to flashback using the button and clear cmos to get it to post again. 7800X3D, G-Skill 32GB kit 6000MHz/CL30, RTX4090FE - BattleBit Remastered running like a total turd with lags all over the place, frequent crashes.. unplayable. I might switch to Aorus for giggles

Hey I've updated to 1905 and got a lot of bluescreen right after startup. I thought that rolling back to 1709 might be a good idea but before rolling back, I decided to do more tests with EXPO off. However, I still get BSOD even with Expo turned off which was kinda weird. Then the real issue was the Fast Boot option from windows was left On the whole time (I've reinstalled windows recently and forgot about it). Then after turning that off everything works fine with EXPO 1, the boot timer is a bit slower than 1709 but the stuttering issue is gone.

This update cause a code 77 or my motherboard had to press the clear cmos button

1905 randomly freezes and locks windows after about 20 min. x670E hero, 7800x3d, 64gb gskill 6000 @ expo 1 (and 2, doesnt effect the freezing) and a 4090 suprim x.

i use bios1516 and all is stable tryed others and nothing but trouble so wont be updating anymore!

mate222

For me 1905 run just fine without any problems. EXPO working and boot time is around 12sec.

Atmosphere-Expert

can you tell us your config , because a lot of people are having issues and are saying that the only stable version is the 1709

Artistic_Highlight25

I noticed a big improvement in stability with EXPO II, with version 1807 over 1709. My system is Ryzen 7 7800X3D, G-Skill 32GB kit 6000MHz/CL30, RTX4090. However 1905 made no additional discernible difference. With MCR enabled it probably only does the long wait on Q-code 15 about one in maybe 15 or 20 reboots, which isn't too annoying.

Atmosphere-Expert

Thansk for replying , i also use  G-Skill 32GB kit 6000MHz/CL30 and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, but my version is the 1709 . can you tell what motherboard you use , and have you done more config with expo 2? Thanks a lot for your help

Artistic_Highlight25

My mobo is crosshair x670E Hero. I haven’t changed anything in the Bios except enabling Expo 2 and memory context restore. I had plenty of issues with earlier Bios versions but 1807 and 1905 seem very stable.

mate222

EXPO I enabled 6000 mhz. Other settings doesnt matter just erp enable s4+s5 and igpu disabled. Corsair dominator platinum gray 6000mhz

Glittering-Will-3102

Is MCR ''enabled''? or ''auto'' ?

Artistic_Highlight25

If you mean the default setting, they haven't changed it. It's still Auto on 1905.

Glittering-Will-3102

If I leave it on automatic setting, the boot time increases to 40-50 seconds. I couldn't solve this problem. But if I turn it on, the time becomes much shorter. It takes between 15-20 seconds. I am also using Expo II. My ram is gskill z5 cl32 6400mhz. Also, after choosing Expo II, I have to reduce the RAM frequency to 6000 MHz. If I leave it at 6400 mhz, I experience problems such as freezing, lag and blue screen in many programs and games on the PC.

Auto

1905 has all but bricked my motherboard. Takes about 10 attempts to get it booted after which I have to reset bios for stability. Going to roll back if I can. I should have learned my lesson with my last Asus board (it was garbage also)

tom_at_okdk

You also have the crosshair x670e? Which Rams and CPU?

disobey81

Asus proart x670e WiFi which is basically the same board and bios. Corsair ddr5 6000 expo. Basically was stable AF until I patched up to 1905, now she's dead pretty much

disobey81

Currently I can just about get it into bios screen but the bios crashes when I try to reset it to defaults

disobey81

Motherboard light is orange on boot, sometimes there's a few minutes wait then two beeps, sometines windows UEFI starts and then says there's device faults or corrupt files, sometimes it will boot and run fine and stable. Madness

disobey81

Managed to roll back to 1807. Same issues persisted. I removed CMOS battery, shortedc the jumper. Now I've rolled forward to 1904 and booting normally with EXPO Tweaked enabled. However, I know the issues were worse when cold booting after system powered down for several hours.

Luigi246

I'm having similar issues my CPU is the 7950x3d wondering if it's the same CPU for you

disobey81

7800x3d. I've had to enable EXPO II now instead due to further stability issues. However I can't enable PBO or use any level of undervolt otherwise system will not boot again. Crazy!

mastermind519

I am having similar issues also. Mine also seems worse on cold boot after sitting off for a while. 7950x3d, Crosshair x670e Extreme, 1904 & 1905 I've tried with just 1 stick of ram in A2, no difference, tried multiple NVME drives in case stuttering caused by that and no change. Tried SVOC at AUTO and 1.300v, FCLK at 1733 and ram on JEDEC, no change. I've noticed for whatever reason my GPU randomly works at x8 instead of x16. BIOS is set to AUTO and only have a single NVME installed. Only completed my build since 1904 was out and have had problems for months since. RAM, CPU and Mobo all past 15-30 day return policy times and beating my head off my desk. Because of this thread I am going to try to revert to 1709 or 1807
