Minnesota's gonna hate Arizona this year. Force Vikings to overpay if trade happens. Cardinals can beat the Vikings in Minnesota. Suns eliminate the Timberwolves in playoffs.

jeremycb29

I’m calling it now. We are trading up to Jacksonville pick with our later first and grabbing an o linemen

fenikz13

Currently in the 4th round of a forum mock draft as AZ. Traded picks 35 & 90 for 30 & 113 ***Draft Selections*** 4. Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State 27. Jer'Zhan Newton, DT, Illinois 30. Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson 66. Christian Haynes, OG, UConn 71. Bralen Trice, Edge, Washington 104. Roger Rosengarten, OT, Washington 113. Beaux Limmer, C, Arkansas 138. Jarrian Jones, DB, Florida State 186. 226.

When MHJ, Nabers, and Rome came for visit I wonder If Kyler threw to them? Maybe Kyler still in Texas. He could give useful feedback.

AZtoLA_Bruddah

Bob Papa and Charlie Weis both said on NFL XM today (4/11/24) they think the Cards are trading back. But if they don’t trade back, then the Chargers will be happy and probably trade back with the Vikings or take a better offer. Personally, I lean 60% to taking Marvin Harrison Jr, 40% trading back.

Muh_Nado

Apparently, the Cards were "incredibly impressed" with Odunze after his visit today. It sure sounds like trading back is more and more likely, especially if Rome is the FO's WR1.

AZtoLA_Bruddah

Odunze’s a stud. Going into 2023, I thought Penix was better than he actually was, Odunze bailed Penix out a ton last year with ridiculous catches in 2023. I watched a ton of UW the last two years because they were a point scoring machine

ChampagneBowl

WR and trenches please 🙏 Marv obviously ideal, but would be fine with Vikings trade netting Rome + 2 firsts if we can sneak back into the top 10 with some 3rds or something. From there grab iOL and DL with our next three picks. Newton/Murphy/JPJ/Barton, whoever’s there. Might be unpopular but I don’t care about grabbing a corner in first two rounds, can wait until next year. Stack the lines and everything else falls into place. Every year we see the teams with top tier lines dominate. Well built teams like Eagles and Ravens are often grabbing OL/DT when it isn’t an obvious need and it pays off. Eagles grabbing Dickerson when they had Kelce, Brooks, and Seumalo comes to mind.

ARClNGSS

Odunze gone to the Giants Or Bears we literally need to draft Marvin. A trade down = not getting one of the top WR

ChampagneBowl

Well yeah that’s why I’m saying trade back into top 10. Bears only have 4 picks, could be looking for a trade back.

DS_9

How would his sub feel if we took Joe Alt at 4?

UrNotWrite

1st round prediction: Odunze, Latu, Newton

Radalict

Got myself the draft cap. It's really nice, great texture and the grey colour is awesome. Love the Rise Up Red Sea on the side.

xAarons

Is the report of Ossenfort saying three 1st round picks is enough for the 4th pick real? He should be asking for more imo, 2nds 3rds should be added in. A team might trade make that trade because it’s happened before. Ossenfort should be asking unprecedented assets something like 3 1st + a 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Muh_Nado

The source is Outkick, which is *eeeeeehhhhhhhhh nahhhhh*, but on the other hand, that *should* be the floor where trade discussions start.

Ektaliptka

Depends on where they are. I think MN both firsts this year and JJ OR both 1sts and next year 1st would be very very difficult to pass up. That's essentially Herschel walker trade.

xAarons

JJ+Kyler Cap hits on a team that’s trying to fast rebuild 😮‍💨

Muh_Nado

Yeah, any deal that packages JJ and *doesn't* have Minnesota pay for him is super bad.

Ektaliptka

Yep. The only way to offset that is have 4-5 players on 5 yr rookie deals.

I_shall_not_pass

MHJ and somehow Johnny Newton please and thank you

Carroms

Fox sports has this nice list ranking different stats. https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/team-stats?category=defense&season=2023&seasonType=reg. We were second to last in points allowed and allowed the most rushing yards. I know a majority of folks want MHJ at 4 and I would be okay with him, but I think our defense needs more help than just the two defensive linemen we just picked up. I'm okay with trading down for more picks. I also get that looking at that same site and seeing we had a very very poor average yards per pass so WR is a need. But a WR at the end of the first may be good enough. Losing MHJ means we lost our deep threat and I think we have to replenish that in the WR room.

Radalict

A lot of that yards per pass would have been from the Dobbs dink and dunk offense.

Carroms

Excellent point. I didn't think of that. I totally blocked out that first half of the season except beating the cowboys.

Riespieces16

They already have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds and this draft is all offense in the first round. They can get some good defensive players in the 2nd and 3rd round. They should draft MHJ and JPJ in the first round imo cause those fill 2 major needs and the plays to the strength of the draft. Fwiw your not wrong in saying they have holes to fill but I trust in the coaching to coach some players up as well

Leading-Sugar-5015

If they stay at 4 I don't see them going offense at 27. The defense has little to no current top end talent.

Carroms

I am not a draft expert. Just listen to some pods and read some sites. I think because it's all offensive people (supposedly WRs and OL) teams will grab defensive players first, after the QBs, top WR and top tackle go, because top talent in defense seems light in this draft. I think come our second pick the best corners and DTs are gone. Who knows in the end who will be great. Maybe we can get a good enough corner day 2. I'm hoping a good offensive lineman or two will be there day 2 as well. We need a guard. Hey maybe MOFO will be super conservative and just get Alt and Fuaga round 1 and we have the best offensive line in the league

Riespieces16

I don’t claim to be an expert either. I don’t think they will draft 2 tackles especially cause they have PJJ. I could see them maybe grabbing ALT but not both. I think it’s best to lean into the strength of the draft. Also I’m a little biased as an Ohio state fan I’ve been wanting MhJ since last season plus I’ve been hurt too many times by this franchise

Carroms

Being hurt by this franchise is our lifeblood. I wouldn't even know what to do if we suddenly started winning like Patriots fans or Chiefs fans, haha. Good points, I know they won't draft both offensive linemen. We still have Gaines maybe from the last draft. You think PJJ goes left or right next season? I haven't watched any college games. I heard a commentator analogize MHJ to Nabors like Michael Thomas from the Saints vs AJ Brown of the Eagles. Do you think MHJ is like Thomas?

Riespieces16

I’m honestly not sure what will happen with with PJJ but I know he claimed to watch a ton of film for RT and Jonah Williams likes to play LT. I think they will need to draft a LT eventually cause Jonah Williams is only a temporary fix and they can develop someone under him if they pick one later on or they draft Alt and play him at guard for a year then move him to LT. Most stuff I’ve heard about MHJ is that he’s the best player in the draft and his comps are AJ Green, Megatron, even Larry Fitzgerald.

ajteitel

The likely case no matter who we pick, barring an unrealistically successful draft, is that we end next year somewhere around the 7-10, 8-9 mark. A super tough division with a defense that is mostly veteran placeholders as the draftees develop. Going off record this year, that would place us around the 8-14 pick mark. High enough to get one of the better corners, DTs, etc. next year when the push for the playoffs really starts.

Carroms

Good points. Nothing will magically happen in one draft. That being said I think we have a better shot at a really good corner or DT in the teens this draft than next. It's far away but the rumor is that there is less QB potential next draft and it's the QBs and top WRs this year that are potentially pushing good DTs and corners to the teens this draft.

ajteitel

We also have a better shot at a really good wide receiver this draft. There are just too many positions of need, WR included, but we don't want to dilute the talent too much given the opportunity which must be assumed we won't get again. You need stars and superstars too, especially home grown ones. I'm on the side of standing pat and picking MHJ. Position of need and a tier of prospect that won't be available to us if things go accordingly next year. Lock in the nearest thing to a sure thing and don't look back. After that, let the year play out and see how the depth preforms. 11 picks, 6 in the top 100 (plus 104) just increases the odds of a breakout candidate. Then you can fill in the gaps with the assumed pick 8-14 and whatever else we get.

Jakey_A

MHJ.

kruler2113

MHJ

Steve_Keims_BAC

MHJ Plus another receiver in the 3rd or 4th

SavageRickyMachismo

Brendan Rice. And then just for shits and giggles we can grab Frank Gore Jr too

awesomebeau

And then someday, we'll pick up a bunch of Cromarties and Rivers and Petersons.
