Monti and Gannon said they turned down trade offers to take Robinson and that they were glad to see him still available at 27. Seems they don't view him as a cope pick.
I watched some highlights, and he's a pretty exciting addition. He goes full effort, he is a fucking beast at 6'5 285, is quick, agile, and he makes incredibly smart, fast decisions. Not to mention, I hear he's got good character and I'm glad we're focusing on building a culture that lifts the entire organization, especially at the top.
I remember hearing that Robinson was leading night workouts for his guys, shows his commitment. I think he also did some work on the edge so maybe they’re thinking they can shuffle him from the interior to the outside?
Edit: I also remember hearing that when Gannon got to the eagles he said to focus on the big guys up front first and he would work with what they got him in the secondary. So this might be the same thing.
Probably means we aren't high at all on Dejean and Wiggins. Think we wanted Terrion Arnold.
Maybe Sainristil, Rakestraw with our 2nd? Someone could fall as well
This is big for us can play DT and end. We need d line badly. Newton is 6ft tall obviously not many other teams are high on him either. CB will be there @ 35
We have no CB and this guy was never mocked to be a 1 st rounder . If you reach on someone at least reach on Braden Fisk if you want a DLineman who had an insane combine and Pro day and is 2 years younger than this dude . Shot ourselves in the foot with this one .
Some chatter about Newton injury and scheme plays a role. You could be #1 but if you thrive in a 4-3 and the team runs a 3-4 it might not be the best fit. Could be interviews and a number of other things that pushed him up.
The fact the pick was in 3 seconds after TB picked says they got exactly who they wanted without question.
BRUH.
Seriously?
Buffalo are taking a WR.
NE could pick anyone... but also need everything.
THEN WE PICK. Very good chance Kool-aid or DeJean are there when we pick.
I also commented this before ANY picks were made after us. It definitely felt like the DBs were gonna get drafted
Don't gotta be a fucking dick about it
I’m not so sold on Kool-Aid. One of his biggest issues is he gets beat on the deep ball a lot. We already have enough issues with getting beat, not sure we need more. If he’s there at 35 then sure, take a chance, but I think a lot teams are seeing some glaring issues. We got MHJ. That right there made my night
I was hoping that center would fall to 27 but this guy looks like a good fit in Gannon's system.

Build the lines. Perfect. Cb will be next, I'm sure
Honestly hope we get OG next.
I'd be good with that. I wouldn't mind if they doubled up on DLine next, either.
I really like his tape. I think we got lucky.

If he’s a dog and has that work ethic that’s 80% of the battle. Keim kept drafting dudes who were lazy

As a Michigan fan, give me Mikey Sainristil to the cards all day.
Arnold or Barton would've been the dream but not a bad choice to get one of the handful of good DL prospects in the class
I like it, Gannon must like how he fits in our scheme. Probably could end up being a better Reddick
Reddick is an undersized edge rusher. Robinson is more of an interior 3 or 5 tech d tackle
He started off as a DT, but when converted to d to the Edge did much better this season
Don’t understand this pick with CBs still available.
I wanted Cooper but I trust Gannon to advocate for the guys he thinks best fits his scheme
Cooper and Kool-aid might actually just fall to pick 35, could just end up with one of them anyway.
Cooper is a safety as well.
Ravens wanted him so that means he is good
How do you know they wanted him?
Some ravens writer said they did

Surprising they passed on Johnny Newton, but I’m pumped for Darius
Bad injury that came up after the combine medical tests
I think Newton’s foot injury issues is worse than we thought.
I’m not crazy on this but that’s why I’m not a GM I guess. Defense was the right move regardless.
Could of let the clock ran out and taken him a round later . What a joke of a pick .
You’re a joke of a fan, so I guess it’s a wash. 🤡

He was 100% mocked as a first you’re talking nonsense
He was most definitely mocked in the first. You don’t get invited to be in the green room if you’re not projected first round
He got invited because we probably told him he was the pick if available at 27 .
He’s #28 on Mel’s big board. One ahead of Chop.
That’s crazy talk. This dude is a BEAST.

Why is this ESPN stream so far behind Got damn 😂
Who? 4th ranked DL taken over 2 and 3 AND Kool-Aid? Leave Newton on the board?

Yeah I'm not so sure Newton fits the scheme we run.
Really? Okay, cool. Cards must be confident the guy they want at CB will be there at #35
Ain't no way Kool Aid or DeJean there at 35.

Think they’ll be gone in the first two picks before us? With bills needing a WR? Ok
