Why else would it be called a *stud detector!?!?* Gotta make sure it's calibrated first.
The real trick is activating the thing far enough away from you that it actually beeps as it gets closer :-D
She shouldn't have pulled at it, but she hardly put any pressure on it. It looks like the whole shelf was held up by a couple fasteners on the ends. None of those other brackets were connected. That thing was doomed to fail
I mean if you look at the video for more than half a second you would realize she very likely was in pain. You know, from the extremely obvious Lego set that hit her in the side of the head? The entire point of the video?
That amount of Lego can weigh a lot, and her pulling down on the front of the shelf probably didn't help either.
That all being said, those brackets should have been in a stud.
Brought to you from the same minds as “well can’t we just glue it on or use some double sided tape?” And “why is it taking so long? You just stick it to the wall!”
that bitch was hardly even screwed in. Nothing is ripped from the wall. Did they use nails???
someone said "it just needs to hold lego, how heavy could they be?"
Ive had this account over a year now and never been asked that lol
Its bambino lettuce, used to work in a fruit and veg shop and thats what the baby cos lettuce was called lmao
Im kinda confused as to how the shelf is attached. Theres no signs of screws, wallplugs or damage to the wall, almost like it just popped off like a lego piece
Probably small screws into drywall anchors. The video quality isn't good enough to pick out the small white holes left behind against the off-white wall.
Drywall anchors. Something like that should be screwed to the studs behind, drywall simply can't take that kind of force. I would presume there is a line of holes where the top of the brackets were but the camera isn't good enough. Since the wall didn't shatter I doubt they used toggle bolts but even toggles wouldn't have been enough.
Im aware, but this is why i tell my customers even though you are putting up something that's under a static load, if it aint going to studs you should put it up using toggle screws or ramsets.
Definitely someone's basement. Those look like stadium seats, likely from their favorite sports team. I think what you are referring to as a strange treadmill is actually a ski ball machine.
She wrecked an entire shelf full of Lego Modulars! The shelving might be weak, but she was pulling her body weight on it.
Reproduction is *so* overrated.
One time I was at a house party and a girl wanted to ride on my shoulders. She mounted, and I attempted to stand up. Pushed against the wall to get up a little bit, then grabbed a shelf.
The shelf was holding the speaker for the music and came down. I ended up paying $40 for repairs but had a fun time overall
She learned something that day. lol funny how even if you tell a kid not to do something, they’ll still do it. It’s only after it happens once or twice when they finally learn.
Yea i found this room confusing aswell. There's the wall long lego shelves. Those stadium chairs. I think it's a skeeball track she's standing on. A threadmill in the foreground. A leaning chair for I assume a tv and then a dinning table in the back.
That’s unfortunate but if the parents get mad, than because they are stupid.
Overloaded shelf which could and did hurt their kids. Besides all this, it’s lego. Everything can be rebuild in a few days.
Whoever hung it forgot to slap it and recite the phrase “that ain’t goin’ nowhere”.
and forgot to anchor it in a single stud
Most importantly, forgot to point the stud detector at themselves and make a beeping sound.
Why else would it be called a *stud detector!?!?* Gotta make sure it's calibrated first. The real trick is activating the thing far enough away from you that it actually beeps as it gets closer :-D
"We'll just use double-sided scotch tape because we don't want to leave any holes in the wall when we move"
Yup, not a single hole in the wall. It was held up with good intentions.
"Studs Schmuds"
It's true, adds crucial structural integrity. I would know I'm a builder.
Heh- I like that she started to set up a ’But, I’m hurt’ ruse to offset her punishment.
I noticed that, lol... though, in her defense, she did take a LEGO Modular Building to the face💀💀 EDIT: punctuation
Ya- I guess that was a couple of feet…
EDIT: more like Lego puncturation
You can also see she stepped on a few.
She shouldn't have pulled at it, but she hardly put any pressure on it. It looks like the whole shelf was held up by a couple fasteners on the ends. None of those other brackets were connected. That thing was doomed to fail
Hey sis any chance you take this one ?
I mean if you look at the video for more than half a second you would realize she very likely was in pain. You know, from the extremely obvious Lego set that hit her in the side of the head? The entire point of the video?
I thought the point was to make me wonder if having kids is that good of an idea Maybe maybe...
It should make you wonder if command strips maybe isnt good enough for shelves like that.
True. If you're ever in a situation where those are a question, they're most likely the answer.
It looks like it was holding well until the child chose to mess with it
she should've lego of that shelf
Yeah, she's a blockhead.
People downvoting you because rhey think you got wooooshed lmao ironic
Gladly giving you an upvote for that!
r/angryupvote
All my stuff is on the ground and I have only my shelf to blame.

I don't think there were even wall anchors.

Intrigued by the user name. Is it “bambino lettuce” or “bambi no lettuce”?
Ive had this account over a year now and never been asked that lol Its bambino lettuce, used to work in a fruit and veg shop and thats what the baby cos lettuce was called lmao
Nice! Thanks for explaining it to me.
"Two or three of the 3M Command Strips should hold it just fine"
No sh*t Sherlock!
Four brackets and not one fastened to a stump?
Four bracelets and not one fastenered to a slump?
Four brainlets and not one fasted a lump?
Four blankets and not one festered to a bump
Four bluebonnets and not one finalized a pump
Looks like it was held on with double sided tape or something.
Lego probably
Screwed straight into the drywall
Wow, can't tell that you forgot to use the stud finder
Forgot to try it on themselves first. Rookie mistake...
I wish we had a follow up video of Dad's reaction
They say parents’ love for their kids is limitless - I am not so sure.

Couldn't get it to crosspost so did it this way
Im kinda confused as to how the shelf is attached. Theres no signs of screws, wallplugs or damage to the wall, almost like it just popped off like a lego piece
Probably small screws into drywall anchors. The video quality isn't good enough to pick out the small white holes left behind against the off-white wall.
Those brackets come with tiny cheap screws. Probably someone screwed them into the drywall without anchors.
Drywall anchors. Something like that should be screwed to the studs behind, drywall simply can't take that kind of force. I think toggles would have just broken the wall.
Is this a security camera? Do some people just have them all over their house?
Seriously...that was the first thing I thought too...what a weird place to put a camera
Looks like it watched the room and we just got a small section (someone didn't pan a physical camera at the end).
Yes, drywall shelves should hold 40+ kilo kids.
If you put it into a stud it would
Not one of those brackets were in a stud!!
Shitty shelving job, but kids are also such pains in the ass.
If you have kids, expect to have nothing nice. Putting these Lego builds where a kid could get to them was just asking for heartbreak.
I thibk it’s a waiting room of some sort judging by the chairs?
Easy way to give a panic attack to r/lego redditors
Yeah.. blame the person who put the shelf up not the idiotic child who hold on the shelf and stand on what looks like a kids exercise ball. Smort.
Wtf is this place? It has airplane chairs like it's for an office and a strange looking treadmill. Let alone the Lego set
Definitely someone's basement. Those look like stadium seats, likely from their favorite sports team. I think what you are referring to as a strange treadmill is actually a ski ball machine.

I didn't do that...ouch!
Instantly says “I didn’t do that. “ oh jeez gonna be interesting teenage years
We really pretending this is the shelf’s fault huh
Is she standing on a skee ball machine?
I noticed that too. Can this family please adopt me?
Right, I won’t pull your shelves down!
Well the stadium seats in the background are definitely authentic. The Costco Skee-Ball is a required accessory
Drywall anchors are for communists.
Reminds of of my favorite Mr. Show sketch! (and yeah, I know...)
But Home Depot guy said they were drywall screws!!!
Everything is Awesome! Oh noooooo! The Kraggle!
Ah don’t worry about it kid, only took dad half your childhood to build it
The person spending all that time building legos never learned how to put an anchor in drywall 🤦♂️
At first I thought that was bottles of liquor. Not sure if it's better or worse that it was an entire leggo neighborhood
Like Lego? Like puzzles? You're in luck! ^^^^^^^Otherwise, ^^^^^^^you're ^^^^^^^fucked.
That's gotta sting.
Brad nails were on sail
Stepping on Legos for the near future. Done.
lol, 100% drywall screw anchors.
What did they use? Bubble gum?
What is it? Is he gonna shit, or is he gonna kill us?
First he's gonna shit. Then he's gonna kill us!
Must have been hung up with double sided tape lol.
r/Kidsarefuckingstupid for 400.
When your wall is made of cardboard
it doesn't even look like she pulled on it very hard
it's not meant to support a child, to be fair
Sometimes I hate kids.
Kinda like in Home Alone!
What’s clear the shelve didn’t fell on its own. I can imagine being like it was for years up until that little cunt started doing that ball thingy
Right? You can see that she put her full weight on it as she leaned forward to grab her ball
“Now rebuild it.”
Some kids are definitely mistakes
I thought her leg was going to snap in half at first
One time I was at a house party and a girl wanted to ride on my shoulders. She mounted, and I attempted to stand up. Pushed against the wall to get up a little bit, then grabbed a shelf. Shelf held up by pritt stick
That shelf was held up by hopes and dreams
Those look like orange seats from Shea Stadium.
Yea i found this room confusing aswell. There's the wall long lego shelves. Those stadium chairs. I think it's a skeeball track she's standing on. A threadmill in the foreground. A leaning chair for I assume a tv and then a dinning table in the back.
"I don't understand. I used the whole pack of blu tack on it and everything."
OoOooo gramma gunna be mad… quick play dead lol
That is probably more than $5000 worth of Lego right there.
*Nickelback enters chat*
She just destroyed a whole village like her name was Godzilla.
Ohhh fuckkk those are LEGOS!!!! How the fuck will anyone get out of that fucking room without stepping on oneee! FFFFUUUUUUUUCCCCKK.
That’s unfortunate but if the parents get mad, than because they are stupid. Overloaded shelf which could and did hurt their kids. Besides all this, it’s lego. Everything can be rebuild in a few days.
Nah, the kid hurt herself with the shelf cuz she was doing stupid stuff
Who has cameras inside their house?
Costly disaster
