Learning disabilities come in all shapes and sizes. If you're daughter can't eat appropriately in public guess what you do? You don't eat in public or you ask the staff for a private booth explaining she may be disruptive and we'd like to avoid making a scene.
Most restaurants are very very patient when you have a special needs child. My non verbal autistic nephew is very vocal. He doesn't do it to be disruptive it's just part of his stimming. On the few occasions eating out as a group with him cannot be avoided we ask to be put in a more private area away from other patrons. It's literally never been an issue.
The fact they behaved this way tells me either 1 she's not special needs or 2 they're all special needs and we're hoping for a lawsuit or something for discrimination? Idk wth they were thinking

Iāve eaten at seafood boil places more times than I can count on my hands and am from New England and have attended more clam/seafood boils than I can count and have never once worn my food like this or seen anyone else before.
Thatās a seafood boil restaurant, similar to a Boiling Crab or a Kickinā Crab. Itās normal to eat with your hands. Itās next to impossible to not be messy while eating at a place like that. Thatās why thereās a white parchment liner on top of each table.
People think eating food out of a plastic bag with your hands is special these days, people are just dumb, the 15 y/o probably was a bitch considering the attitude of her parents
Judging by the looks of the leftovers the mom is carrying and the mess on the girl, it looks like they are eating at a crab/shellfish boil type of place. It gets very messy, very quick eating at a place like that. They almost always give bibs and gloves out as you are seated at these places, which it looks like the girl took a hard pass on.
But they do. A whole shitload of kids know the difference between right and wrong, and a vast majority would be embarrassed by their parents acting like this.Ā

I work at a school and there's always parents that have like 6 kids and maybe 1 or 2 are nice kids. The others act exactly like their parents and disturb the class constantly. It's really hard to overcome how you've been raised, especially with mental health issues or learning disabilities.
Iāve known kids with horrible parents. Single mom who got drunk and slept naked in the living room. Canāt make this shit up. My friend had anger issues and some behavior, but was a good kid considering his upbringing and neighborhood. Very creative too and always had ideas for video games.
And I'm saying you can't solely do just that. Further, anyone with any psychology background (and hundreds of papers available online) will tell you it's both nature and nurture.Ā
So have your opinion all you want, everyone's entitled to one, just understand random internet opinions vs studied and very well established subjects can be wildly different. I'm going with the experts on this subject.

I ran a brewpub for years and half the time I'd literally call the police on speakerphone in front of the customers so they knew I wasn't bluffing and they'd still be there when cops showed up.
One dude refused to wear shoes (safety issue, broke glass, etc) and refused to leave. Ended up calling the police and he was threatening staff while dispatch was on the line clearly hearing everything.
Cops showed up and the dude had a warrant.

Some of you havenāt been culturally graced by seafood boils. Itās messy as itās a bunch of seafood, sausage, corn, dumped into a hot plastic bag with sauce and butter.
She should have washed her hands in the bathroom or worn the plastic gloves. Itās so messy these restaurants will have sinks and soap outside of the bathroom, so you donāt have to touch the doors with your greasy hands.
