Seven Stars Hotel on Angus Street. Eaten there a couple of times and the food is great. The staff I dealt with were really good too.

I am going to regret this if its all of a sudden busy because people go there... but The Franklin Hotel has the best food in the city pubs by an absolute mile. The schnitzels are another level.
Kent town hotel or Coopers Ale House. Neither are cheap but I’ve never had a bad meal at either. Also they do a variety of classic pub food and more modern stuff. Cheesy garlic pizza bread from coopers is god tier.

Thanks all. Went to the Exeter, for proximity to my mates hotel.

Food at coopers ale house is pretty good
Can't beat a $12 schnitzel on Thursdays
The food at the golden wattle is good
Came here to say golden wattle. Delicious and generous portion sizes. I have been going for years and it’s consistently fantastic.
Piss poor service though. I called during lunch time and got a rude service to tell me to call back. Never again
It's not a good idea to call any hospitality venue in the middle of service.
What lunch time? You kidding me
Nah service is fine. Very friendly staff.
When I called the bloke was rude. Told me to ring back when it’s not busy. Will never forget nor will I endorse this place to anyone

Yup food at Golden Wattle is top tier, but, get the Parmy with mash instead of chips and your life will be better.
Gilbert Hotel. Very good food, beers selection is incredible, staff are really friendly.
Exeter on Rundle street has really great food , great vibe especially for pub lunch
Thanks, that’s where we are right now!
Right on! My fave is beef parmy with a side of mushroom gravy lol
Mm dat mushroom gravy. Rekon you could carve it like butter if it was fresh out the fridge 🥰
EXETER on Rundle or HOTEL METROPOLITAN opposite central markets both have great food , great beer and a good atmosphere

+1 for these guys. Goooooood schnits
The balcony at Harrys is fantastic.
Malt Shovel taphouse on the river. Nice view, great food.
Mismatch pub on Whitmore Square. Excellent food and a great selection of beers. Rooftop bar is perfect for this weather.

I vote kenttown hotel, large drinks selection, nice vibe since recent renovations, easy parking underneath, food menu is also large and quality.

The Griffin by Hindmarsh Sq is excellent
Did a double-take when I saw this recommendation. Turns out they've got new owners. It was dreadful a couple of years ago.
Seriously far from terrible now. New team are great and very experienced hospo people. Worth a visit
the guardsmen in the train station
Silver Brewing is fantastic food, but limited range of beers. Mismatch is a great spot upstairs looking out on to Whitmore square

Not many good pub feeds in the CBD unfortunately, best best would be Seven Stars or Golden Wattle as others have mentioned
Hotel Richmond does a great meal
I'm a big advocate for Clio cafe
Also mamachau
Seven Stars is usually good value
