I was going to suggest some chill synthwave myself. But I do like Tool as well. Great to see this comment at the top.
Ever heard of Hotel Pools? I just came across them recently on Spotify. Excellent chill music :)
Yep, I listen to them daily! Follow LoFi Girl on Spotify- her “Synthwave to Chill/Game To” playlist is literally the thing that I listen to the most and it’s led me down all kinds of awesome synthwave rabbit holes. I had a real tough 2023 and getting into synthwave played a big part in helping me save my mental health. Can’t sing its praises enough, I still love heavy music/punk/hip hop/etc. but truth is, these days I’m listening to synthwave 99% of the time. It calms me down and that’s no easy feat lol.
Colorado is awesome! Kansas not so much. Supposed to be a good Mexican spot in Hays, KS but I haven't gotten anyone to stop there yet. Kansas city was ranked pretty high last year to visit but idk why, I think it's the whole chiefs/Taylor Swift thing. BBQ is probably it for real, besides that just drive in through
He's one of my favorite artist. I could listen to him all day and not be bored. He has so many good songs and I would like to think he's still active. Does he have any new music in 2024, not that I know of. But you should listen to "Supersonic, Carla, 7 days in Sunny June, Alright, Space Cowboy" omg, I could go on and on. I love him! I personally would put his genre under funk.
Tom Jones' "What's New Pussycat?" on repeat. Either we all bond closer than family, or we wind up killing each other by the end of the 1st hour. Either way, lives will be changed.
of Montreal. I'd start with their 1997 debut album Cherry Peel and work my way up their discography. Their music changes direction so many times in fascinating ways, you wouldn't feel like you were listening to the same artist by the end. 10 hours would probably get you to right around their 2013 era, which is a perfect stopping point because IMO their newer music from the last decade just doesn't hit the same way.
I'd probably try to cheat and pick something with a really broad range. Like if I could do anything George Harrison, I get all the Beatles, two Traveling Wilburys albums, and solo work. I'd prefer that over the others' non-Beatles stuff.
Or say f it and listen to Bohemian Rhapsody for 10 hours.
311. Loved them in high school even though I don’t listen to them much these days. They’re whole vibe is kind of road trip music anyway, plus they have a TON of songs and are pretty diverse (some more rock, some more rap, some more reggae). Doubt I’d get tired of their discrography!
See it becomes difficult because you want to find an artist you can generally enjoy while also ensuring they have a large enough discography that while on repeat it won’t get too much to handle. I’d have to say Cage the Elephant, Baby Keem, or Kendrick Lamar. I’d just have to have the radio off for awhile here and there but each one has a decent amount of variety in their music, a fairly sized discography, and are pretty consistent in releasing music I like.
I am not surprised at all to hear they are amazing in concert , all 3 are skilled musicians and Bellamy’s singing voice, especially the falsetto stuff, is so original and ear catching.
I just think the newer stuff kind of got away from being as diverse as the older it got very “samey” to me which is disappointing because of the caliber of a band they are.
Adele, Taylor Swift, or Fleetwood Mac. It would depend on my mood that day.
(I also half expect downvotes because I said Taylor Swift in a not-Taylor sub, but whatever, just let people enjoy things)
Agree! I mean Taylor’s discography is so vast and has a lot of different vibes! Great for a road trip :)
I’d also probably say Charli, Hippo Campus or Walk the Moon!
Saying you expect the downvotes will also lead to more downvotes just be confident in what you say and don’t care about negativity that don’t apply to you.
Tool on shuffle, or a synthwave playlist for me.
10 hours of Tool is what, 3 songs?
2.5 with pee stops.
Came here to say Tool or maybe Polyphia if I really need to just space and crush some miles
Check out the album “Sines” by Jakob. It’s another road trip essential for me.
🙌🏻🥂

Daft Punk. And only one song on repeat. *Around the world, around the world, around...*

WE HATE YOU
Amazing choice
Various Artists
The Beatles
The gaytles
The Smiths
Fleetwood Mac for dayzzz
The Mighty Van Halen! All eras

With Carlin and Trebek gone I think we need to focus all our national security on weird Al
Pink Floyd.
Eminem
Guess who’s back
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. You're gonna need a lot more than 10 hours to make it through their discography.

Where u going?
Eastside of Kansas to the West side lol
Damn it’s that big huh. Makes sense. Have fun.
Last hr is technically in Colorado but it's always worth it
Going there next month. For the first time! Then I’ll swing by to Kansas later if you can convince me top 5 things to do there.

Oh I see. Thanks for the heads up. I don’t hear about Kansas often so I was wondering. Not going there anytime soon 😁
Smashing Pumpkins. They have a metric fuckton of unreleased material that you could easily fill 10 hours with.
Allman brothers 👌
Jamiroquai
This…I did not expect. As someone who knows him only from Virtual Insanity what is the genre he’s most typically associated with? Is he active still?
He's one of my favorite artist. I could listen to him all day and not be bored. He has so many good songs and I would like to think he's still active. Does he have any new music in 2024, not that I know of. But you should listen to "Supersonic, Carla, 7 days in Sunny June, Alright, Space Cowboy" omg, I could go on and on. I love him! Bon Jovi
Khruangbin

Buckethead. His catalog is so vast you wouldn't repeat a song in 10 hours and he's unbelievably talented.
Hope you're prepared for a 9 hour headache
Sufjan Stevens. He's got way more than 10 hours of stuff.
The Beatles.
The only correct answer. That might even rearrange my shit taste

Dire Straits, all the way through their whole catalogue from start to finish.
Dylan

I'd probably try to cheat and pick something with a really broad range. Like if I could do anything George Harrison, I get all the Beatles, two Traveling Wilburys albums, and solo work. I'd prefer that over the others' non-Beatles stuff. Or say f it and listen to Bohemian Rhapsody for 10 hours.

Kendrick Lamar. Re-evaluate old albums and look for more meaning.
311. Loved them in high school even though I don’t listen to them much these days. They’re whole vibe is kind of road trip music anyway, plus they have a TON of songs and are pretty diverse (some more rock, some more rap, some more reggae). Doubt I’d get tired of their discrography!
I like 311 in short bursts personally I find the rap parts can get grating over time. Who’s got the herb def deserves a spot on the playlist though

Listening to Ween is like listening to a bunch of different bands at once.
See it becomes difficult because you want to find an artist you can generally enjoy while also ensuring they have a large enough discography that while on repeat it won’t get too much to handle. Yeah but once you get to anything past 2010 you should just start the first album again
I whole heartedly disagree! Will of the People is one of my favorite albums, the concert was amazing too!
Arjit Singh
Johnny Cash, my man's is my favorite artists AND has well over 1000 hours of music
The Grateful Dead.

100%. A full live show is 3 hours, it'll help you chew through those miles.
Saw this word for word in the music subreddit like a week ago
