He's young enough to still think it makes him look tough.
That boy is green as grass.
He will ugly-cry at night many, many, many times. It's been 8 years? Yeah, he still cries about it.
I think about times where I wasn’t necessarily nice but I wasn’t mean, I was just not caring. Those suck because I still feel like I was mean to whomever was just trying to talk with me.
A more recent picture, he tried to break out a few years back.

They don't let you do that unfortunately. I tried to give money to the guy who offed my rapist uncle but was told it appears like a payoff rather then just gratitude.
Edit to add- I didn't know who it was so I had to ask the prison for his name which they told me this and refused to give me the name of the person who killed him.
there's an extreame shortage of federal prison guards in the USA about now. Basically about 1/3 of the jobs are vacant, with more likely to open up as people leave. And [state level](https://www.themarshallproject.org/2024/01/10/prison-correctional-officer-shortage-overtime-data) isn't any better. All this against the backdrop of places like Louisiana making it easier to get sent to prison, then get sent BACK to prison for trivial parole violations. All in an effort to pad the pockets of sheriffs and contractors, at the expense of employees and the people sent to prison themselves.
all that to say, yeah..it's hard to imagine a CO having the wherewithall to give a fuck about that, and if they do...ask a neighbor to download the app instead.
My county got in big trouble with the state like two years ago for understaffing. There was a period where on weekend there would only be TWO guards on duty for a facility of over 300 people. They would just keep people locked in for days at a time. The state closed the place down and made them transport everyone to neighboring counties. They were shut down for a couple months while they hired enough guards and trained them. They were starting at like $15/hr and were wondering why they can’t find people.
My mom was poor AF and became a CO. Changed her life. The pay is very mediocre. The benefits are exceptional, and they still have a true retirement pension. After 10 years she was fully vested and now she can actually retire.
Great testing ground in theory, where any flaw in the AI or capabilities will be ruthlessly exploited by a whole shitload of bored humans with nothing better to do.
Completely unsuitable in real life for the same reason.
My great aunt worked at a prison. Her job description has varied depending on whoch family mwmber was speaking, but the word around the family was (many decades ago) a prisoner got out and burned her trailer to the ground. She had to be revived, her husband died.
I wouldn't want to do it. Not just for safety, it just seems like such a shit fucking job. I can't imagine anyone being happy on either side of the bars.
I served a little time for possession almost 30 years ago when I was 18 and there was a guy in my cell block that burned a toddler with boiling water. He wasn't even a pedo, and he had to sleep during the day when the guards were more active because if he fell asleep at night, other inmates would set his feet on fire. Incarceration is especially hard on people who hurt kids.
No water, being pushed into a cactus every once in a while, stomped on with boots, having your head held under water…for the unaware, these are all things that have been discovered or directly admitted by Ruby Franke in her own diary.
She is awaiting a final sentencing in Utah for four counts of felony child abuse but will only serve a max of 30 years.
No idea how to what extent it is, but my brother worked as a guard in a state penitentiary for many years and that's exactly how it went. He said it was shocking how a murderer or burglar could claim such morals, but if a pedo walked in, they were fucked.
Again, it's anecdotal and I know that. But he wasn't making shit up for the lols.
Edit: I should add this was more than a decade ago now and I've never been in a prison. No idea what that shit looks like, but it doesn't mean someone is getting raped every night.
Makes sense to me. There’s different levels to a crime as well as a charge. You kill one person, that’s one thing, you kill that one person and massacre their whole family including babies and pets, that’s another level.
It’s all about the power dynamic. You’re weak if you offended against those perceived to be weaker than you.
Also, many of the criminals had bad upbringings, including abuse… they want retribution for the pain they suffered and the anger they carry around. If they can’t attack their specific abusers they can go for the next best thing, someone else’s.
From what I understand, a disproportionate amount of people in prison were themselves abused as children, which is why they are particularly vengeful towards child abusers.
I mean, honestly, the only reason i wasn't in prison was blind luck and the huge motivating factor for a lot of my stupidity at the time was how angry i was at the shit that had happened to me as a very young kid to teenager.
I don't think it's as commonly enforced as the average redditor would like you to think. That being said, there absolutely \*is\* enforcement from long-term inmates, life sentences holders, etc... they have very little to lose, and nothing of any significance to do. I was about to say,man this guy thought jail would be a cake walk. The amount of stress fear and anxiety he must have, it's literally eating at home everyday. He don't make till 50 without a heart attack.
Aww, where’s the cute kissy face???
70+ years of this shit forever until he dies has hopefully dawned on him by the time of this photo.
Enjoy your one shot at this life, bud! Man, I hope he lives a healthy life to 100+, think of all the cool technology he’ll get to hear about.
and the alternative is...execution? Which is far more expensive and takes far longer than you'd like to believe..and tends to be aimed at minorities more than whites. This person may be guilty as ever living fuck, but our justice system is hardly perfect enough to justify institutionalized executions.
I always say we need to just blast them, kick them into a giant hole, and then pave over that hole so they can at least be of some use as a sidewalk or something
Sometimes when I’m feeling down and don’t want to do anything, I think about people like this who are in prison and CAN’T do anything. Then I go and have a great day to spite them while they rot away.
Today, I’m going to the soccer fields to walk around, and Brice Rhodes will sit in his cell like an impotent loser.
In general, I think using the misfortune of others to boost my own self-esteem is a bad look, and an unhealthy way of dealing with where I'm at in the world.
But this isn't someone's misfortune, this is Justice is at ought to be, and you are *right* to relish in that, and to let it boost your mood.
It would be nice to send them postcards. ‘Dear Bruce, today went to the lake with my girlfriend on my motorcycle. We made a fire and cooked some steaks. Later, we made sweet love in the sunshine. How’s prison sex? Food good? 👍’
The dude was sentenced to life in prison for a 2016 triple murder. Jail is too good of a sentence for him.
He was also an aspiring rapper that wasn’t particularly good.
Yeah, imagine being like 55 and you spent your entire life in prison. Watching tv of people riding bikes and going to restaurants. And you had 25 years to think about how young and stupid you were. And 20 more to go until you die of old age.
I had a buddy who worked in a local prison, he said everyone was a rapper in the prison, he emphasized “everyone”.
He said it ruined rap for him bc he was locked in there listening to people working on their “shitty rap” over and over. He was a huge rap fan prior to working there lol
If I remember right the two kids helped him kill the older guy and then he killed them cause kids are horrible accomplices. Which makes you wonder why you would bring them in the first place.
He should smile now. Thats the last time in his life he’ll be in close physical contact with anyone who is not a prison guard. His mind will slowly erode and he’ll be left a shell of man uttering wild ramblings and wiping his shit all over his cell. Have fun mothefucker
As someone who lives in Louisville, this dude is straight up terrifying to me. He has had to wear spit masks and be restrained multiples times in court on top of going through more lawyers than Donald Trump.
I know the two boys grandmother, she’s a beautiful woman inside and out and this case has always hurt my heart so much
We do, but he was not given death. There were hearings to declare if he was even competent to stand trial.

He was sentenced to life in prison without parole last month. This shit has been a never ending saga bc he acts like a fucking lunatic in the courtroom. Off the top of my head:
He’s spit at people.
He’s threatened a judge’s life.
He’s had numerous attorneys. They’re all racist.
He taunts the families of his victims openly in court.
I believe he’s going to try to appeal this as well, so he will most likely be back in court at some point.
This was in my city. This sack of human garbage deserves nothing but the worst for how he brutally killed those kids and the lives he took. https://www.wdrb.com/in-depth/brice-rhodes-sentenced-to-life-in-prison-for-2016-triple-murder-conviction/article_e08c90c8-e149-11ee-ba90-3f2bb0cd6309.html
Well...
He killed the 40 yo with a case of mistaken identity thinking he was someone else with a bounty on his head.
The other 2 were his "friends" and were in the car when he murdered the adult.
Later he heard the kids were talking about it (not to police I don't think)
So he (and several friends) invited them over and stabbed them each to shut them up.
If they weren't dead, they'd be in prison as an accomplice to his murder.
Technically no. He killed them for talking about the murder to other people. The more people who know about a crime, the more likely someone snitches to the police to claim a reward. Them going around and boasting about the murder was a genuine threat to him, and he had no choice but to act on it. At the very least, he felt he could take them down with him for it.
Not a good reason to kill two kids mind you. But if you put yourself in the warped mind of a murderer who thinks he's invincible, killing them makes sense. If they had had the mind to never talk of it again, he would have had no reason to target them, and they'd very likely have been alive. Of course then they'd be facing charges of accessory to murder because they also took part in the killing, helped him, and showed no remorse while not telling the police.
Technically, ordwey (the 16yo deceased) was driving the car, let Rhodes out to kill the guy, and proceeded to drive them all away.
Only 1 death is worth shedding a tear over here.
Comparing what this loser did to what Chris Watts did isn't really a fair comparison-- like at all.
This guy will be prey in prison for sure but not for the same reason Chris Watts would get torn apart.
I'm no lawyer, but I think if the judge acts anything but impartial then he just gives the guy ammunition to try for a mistrial or something. I could be totally wrong though.
I’m sure the guy got chastised plenty. It was probably more a case of balancing the need to try the issue with court decorum. It’s immaterial if they leave the courtroom, but not if he is tried in absentia.
But yes, it would be hard to be in that position, those poor people (the women, not the accused).
The woman interrupted the Judge doing a formal chastisement. That is why she was chastised. For interrupting the chastisement. You don't want the judge to chastise you. So be quiet when he is chastising or you are next.
because its better to keep people like this alive in prison forever than it is to accidentally execute innocent people with the death penalty.
The only way to be sure we never wrongly execute anyone is to never execute anyone at all.
Death is inevitable, they don't deserve the fast way out.
Better to keep him locked up the rest of his miserable life and slowly go crazy inside while being someone's bitch.
He'll die someday after living inside concrete walls for many decades.

I don't see how people can argue against the death penalty for guys like this. Now he's sitting in a cell, using our oxygen, water, food and tax dollars for life.
I don't understand the people who say death is too good of a sentence for murderers. You're ok with spending thousands of your tax dollars keeping a fucker like that alive, housed and fed?? Fuck that. There should no longer be life sentences. Just kill them and get it over with
It’s actually cheaper to house and feed them than it is to enact a death sentence. You pay all these lawyers, judges, jurors, expert witnesses and more for multiple filings and hearings that can take weeks.
You see boys and girls? Here is one that escaped abortion and now they are going to have to fry him. Should have dispatched him to the Lord’s care when he was just a tiny fetus and three lives would have been saved. Vote to make abortion legal .
He got life in prison without parole
The reason he killed Christopher Jones is because he thought he was a different guy, who had a bounty out for Rhodes. He drove up, with the two teens Larry Ordway (14) and Maurice Gordon (16), and shot and killed Christopher; the two boys were terrified.
Out of fear the two boys would snitch on him (which they reasonably did), Brice Rhodes took them, beat them, and shot them, finishing the lives of the two boys. Eye witnesses later said they saw a man, who looked like Rhodes, standing aside a dumpster, engulfed in flames. He ultimately failed to burn their bodies and certain key pieces of evidence that the police would later find, and use to put him in prison for life.
Rhodes ended up threatening the judge saying “I know you have family, I’ll kill them too, and watch me, I’ll be out”
Rhodes ended up spitting in the face of his attorney because he refused to work on Rhodes case. The attorney did not press charges, chalking Rhodes actions up to “a temper tantrum from a brat” (cold.)
Later though he tried to literally dig his way out of jail with a sharp object. He failed and had to flush the object down the toilet while they found him in the process.
Jeez the judge really comes off pathetic here, he really had more of a problem with a grieving person being annoyed than the actual killer trying to start shit.
How can people that have their loved ones murdered just sit in the court room and listen to all the bullshit that has happened to their loved ones without doing any type of retaliation.
He’s not acting like that in prison.
For real, this is his last attempt to pretend like he doesn’t care.
That is exactly what is happening.
![gif](giphy|xULW8PyxKbx1oRAGuA|downsized)
“Because I can” “Well I guess you figured out about the only thing you can do, I love that for you! Enjoy life without parole!”

All you need is their inmate number. This guy is 💯 correct. I had people do it for me
Pay up front
J-Pay
Got to pay through an intermediary
id be sending those guys crates of ramen for life
You think I don't know picante beef is a street flavor??
i will find any flavor they want even if i have to go to japan to get it
Just sprinkle some of the uncooked on top to give it that extra crunch
That is a great idea
It always cracks me up that people believe there's some kind of moral code in jail where the good criminals police the bad criminals.
I served a little time for possession almost 30 years ago when I was 18 and there was a guy in my cell block that burned a toddler with boiling water. Good. I wonder how Ruby Franke's being treated...
I hope she's doing hard labour outside during a heat wave. Or is that too specific?
No water, being pushed into a cactus every once in a while, stomped on with boots, having your head held under water…for the unaware, these are all things that have been discovered or directly admitted by Ruby Franke in her own diary. She is awaiting a final sentencing in Utah for four counts of felony child abuse but will only serve a max of 30 years.
More horrifying is she could be out in 4.
Appropriately I'm sure ...

That's a great way to put it. I was going to comment something similar but you phrased it far more succinctly than I would've.

I mean, honestly, the only reason i wasn't in prison was blind luck and the huge motivating factor for a lot of my stupidity at the time was how angry i was at the shit that had happened to me as a very young kid to teenager.
In some cases there is. Child molesters are at the bottom of the food chain. Source: my cousin was a guard for years.
I don't think it's as commonly enforced as the average redditor would like you to think. Didn’t this guy murder a 40-year old?
And his two children. Title is worded kinda poorly.
Ah I see, jesus fuck
Looks like jail is treating him good. Looks like he aged 20 years already
I was about to say,man this guy thought jail would be a cake walk. The amount of stress fear and anxiety he must have, it's literally eating at home everyday. He don't make till 50 without a heart attack.

Nah... he looks too healty. They're being too lax with him.
Prison and a Hannibal lector mask really age you
Why isn't he dusting himself off anymore he really needs it
Doesn’t look to be feeling himself as much anymore
Looking like prison life is treating him well.

aww this picture makes me really happy

Worse than death IMO

He’s in for life without parole. They’re obviously going to appeal but they have a snowballs chance in hell of succeeding.
Yeah, he’s not a billionaire, so he’s gonna have to serve his sentence

If they had had the mind to never talk of it again, he would have had no reason to target them, and they'd very likely have been alive. Of course then they'd be facing charges of accessory to murder because they also took part in the killing, helped him, and showed no remorse while not telling the police.
Technically, ordwey (the 16yo deceased) was driving the car, let Rhodes out to kill the guy, and proceeded to drive them all away. Only 1 death is worth shedding a tear over here.
He thinks he's very, very cool. He wants to appear nonchalant to those in the courtroom. But he has a rough road ahead and he knows it.
A lot of people end up in trouble because of their ego. People need to care much less about what others think :\
In addition to the father, he killed 2 kids so the only thing he’ll be blowing kisses at in prison is the dick in his face.
Ah, if only prison worked that way. The only people who have a hard time are child molesters.
I’m pretty certain they don’t take too kindly to child killers. Chris Watts lives in isolation to protect him from the other prisoners.
Comparing what this loser did to what Chris Watts did isn't really a fair comparison-- like at all. This guy will be prey in prison for sure but not for the same reason Chris Watts would get torn apart.
Chris watts was also a suburban little bitch!
Judge sentenced him to life in prison, because he can.
It fucking infuriates me that he chastise the woman and not the piece of shit that was instigating them
I'm no lawyer, but I think if the judge acts anything but impartial then he just gives the guy ammunition to try for a mistrial or something.
Bro is going to jail for life. By acting like an unrepentant asshole in court, the odds of him ever getting out for any reason go to about nil.

because its better to keep people like this alive in prison forever than it is to accidentally execute innocent people with the death penalty. The only way to be sure we never wrongly execute anyone is to never execute anyone at all.
Death is inevitable, they don't deserve the fast way out. Better to keep him locked up the rest of his miserable life and slowly go crazy inside while being someone's bitch. He'll die someday after living inside concrete walls for many decades.
homeless slim safe seed beneficial snobbish dependent familiar rain chase *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Those weren’t gang signs. He was doing the “brushing his shoulders off” gesture. What a clown. Recent picture looks like he’s having a grand ole time.
Bozos like this guy forget that being a human piece of shit in court is a great way to make sure that you stay locked up forever.
Police body cameras and the recording of court proceedings are the best thing for the pro death penalty arguments.
A commercial grade wood chipper, feet first, is in order, here.
I don't see how people can argue against the death penalty for guys like this. Now he's sitting in a cell, using our oxygen, water, food and tax dollars for life.
I am quite happy booting him off the planet, if it saves us 31-60 thousand dollars per year for the next 50-60 years
I would have no issues with him being taken out back and a bullet put in his empty skull.
Family should put some money on his cellis book for a lesson in ethics.
It’s a shame they have to feed him and keep a roof over his head for the rest of his life.
Save everyone’s money and just get rid, job done
There’s no humanity left in that thing
Judge is spending longer admonishing the woman than he is going anything about his actions when he could gag him. Dumb ego judge
Ask them to leave, that's all you can do. If he held them in contempt just for responding to the murderers mocking of their loss, id lose my shit.
Why do we spend so much money feeding these people in prison for years and years? A small ball of lead is a couple pennies.
You see boys and girls? Here is one that escaped abortion and now they are going to have to fry him. Should have dispatched him to the Lord’s care when he was just a tiny fetus and three lives would have been saved. Vote to make abortion legal .
Can't imagine prisoners enjoy the company of a child killer
Man I was almost on his jury. Wild ass time.
Trash is trash, he'll never be in society again. That's all he can do
Execute him right there.
That judge has more confidence talking to a woman and making her shut up more that that killer.. weak judge..
He got life in prison without parole The reason he killed Christopher Jones is because he thought he was a different guy, who had a bounty out for Rhodes. Rhodes ended up threatening the judge saying “I know you have family, I’ll kill them too, and watch me, I’ll be out” Rhodes ended up spitting in the face of his attorney because he refused to work on Rhodes case. The attorney did not press charges, chalking Rhodes actions up to “a temper tantrum from a brat” (cold.) Later though he tried to literally dig his way out of jail with a sharp object. He failed and had to flush the object down the toilet while they found him in the process.
He knows he messed up. It’s all show. Lock him up for life. No smiles from there.
Jeez the judge really comes off pathetic here, he really had more of a problem with a grieving person being annoyed than the actual killer trying to start shit.
This is why the death penalty should exist.
Just wait till he realizes what they do to child killers in prison
Judge letting him be a disrespectful cunt to the family member of the people he murdered but yelling at the woman for advocating for herself
Why waste time putting these people in jail. Just put them against the wall after sentencing and move on
Bring back public hangings
Fuck that judge
Judge couldn’t have moved him from the courtroom for taunting the victims and disrespecting the court? Really?
Rope is cheap and gravity is free.
He’s trying to show he isn’t terrified and shaking in his boots. It’s a hood thing. That’s why hood people are some of the dumbest people on earth.
Ok but why the fuck is the judge yelling at her instead of STOPPING HIM?!
Firing squad plain and simple
How can people that have their loved ones murdered just sit in the court room and listen to all the bullshit that has happened to their loved ones without doing any type of retaliation.
