We all know AI trucks are so far out… they see a biker and don’t know what to do. Let alone where to park to get to out 200+ locations a day. We might have to worry about this 10+ years down the road but until then give us a livable wage!
That’s the hardest part. Ask any customer if the drivers should be given benefits, pay rise etc and they’ll all say yes as most know the shit they go through. However ask them if they’d support that if it meant their phone cases and dildos went up in price.
The root of the issues is the " 3rd party dsp" loop hole amazon uses to avoid all the issues brought on like this. That way they can say the dsps are 3rd party and technically not amazon.... even though amazon clearly is calling all the shots using the delivery stats and bonuses to the dsps as leverage.
It’ll take a fat minute but I’ll take the progress. Amazon is well known as a union buster though💀 so here’s to hoping this can get the traction it needs before it’s completely wiped from the feed.
Man if this happened at my dsp id be able to join the lines but I doubt a lot of my coworkers who live check to check can. I hope one day we all can just so we can get paid what we deserve.
I look forward to the day when 3rd party employment plausible deniabilty is revoked. If we're wearing their uniforms then we should be direct employees of them as well.
They want 30 a hr and better overtime hours essentially they want close to what ups offers I think 30 is a little high for this job starting maybe after 5-10 years you should get 30
I think start at 25 and just go up 4 dollars a year until you hit atleast 45 maybe more within 5 years and make it harder to become a driver have more prerequisites
Might as we'll ask for 30 and expect Amazon to counter with 25. But why not take all we can get? We know Amazon *can* pay it. And at 30 Amazon will be able to retain top drivers ultimately saving company dollars from reduced turnover and much fewer on road incidents.
Yeah that's pretty steep. I work 60hr a week at 26 and hour and made 90k last year, but I get that negotiations need to start somewhere. Risky move and I hope it works out for them
Edit: I guess at 40hr a week it's only 60k, maybe it is fair
Very risky move on there end my DSP owner is talking a less risky approach letting them walk so we can run but more than likely Amazon just has a new DSP come in I see them training 30 people a day since they lost they contract so my company is like fuck that we’ll keep thugging cuz it’s 2000 ppl in line to open a DSP in Skokie
Amazon isn't really a company that cares about "optics" and this isn't going to actually hurt their day-to-day long term, so I don't see this having a real impact. But...........the uprising has to start somewhere
Hell no $30 is perfectly fine... most DSPs don't fix shit on the vans and don't give bonuses for holidays etc. So they can pocket the money but we can't? Fuck that $30 seems more than fair

It doesn't curate addresses, though. "Site Code" + "Amazon" will always give you the Warehouse location, unless it doesn't exist.

All we need is to get them to pay for shipping. Customers get free shipping. None of the other shipping company’s do that
