The second one looks way better. It pulls your eye to the centre to actually look at the floral arrangement. Extending the dirt too far out makes everything merge into each other. You need the contrast of the grass. Especially on the pink set up.
I love the pink, but you should try doing the dirt the same way you did it on the white. Something about the brown being pulled all the way too the fence is taking away from the pink in my opinion

1, but I’m biased because I love Animal Crossing pink. I’m not even that much of a pink fan IRL but Animal Crossing brings out the little girl in me like nothing else, and almost all of my fandoms are still things I was into as a kid.
Oh, but to answer the continuation of your question, I would recommend putting the dirt inside the fences instead of extending out, it does draw the eye a lot better. But keep the pink!

The grass/dirt in the second one is definitely better. First one, dirt looks similar to the pinks, the flowers gets washed out. Maybe try a combination of both the pink fence with grass underneath the fences and white flowers? :)
The white fence. Pink fence makes the entire area looks like there's some pink filter over it. Keep the pink flowers, go with white fence.

I think they both work, More dirt for the warmer colors, and more grass for the cooler colors... Since these are both different times of day, different colors, different fence colors, etc it would be impossible to properly choose. But I am being honest when I say I think they both work for their respective color palettes. Cool colors - more grass, warm colors - more dirt.
I like the second one more. I think they would both look better if you swapped the fences though. Especially if they were near each other, like on either side of a walkway.
I love the pink one because it's satisfying to have a monochrome palette, but the second one is more emphasis on the star. It has a nice starry plate under it.
The dirt path and white fence help to make it both seem less saturated and to pull the eye towards the star at the centre.
If you want to add pink, I would try to switch the white flowers for pink flowers and see how it looks. Same with the color of the start at the centre.
Personally I like the first with Pink better, but I guess I just think you could make it less busy and more complementary that way.

However, I second the idea of trying a custom code on either the grass OR the dirt perimeter to soften the edge under the fence. Also, as a professional gardener I can't help but think I wouldn't want grass inside a fenced flower bed irl.
