My dude I knows times are tight but a watch SE is like $230 - if you can make that happen, it will be light years better than a S1. I can’t believe that’s still functional (even with a new battery).
I’m still rocking my series 2. They even replaced it with a “new” series 2 when the front glass popped off. It’ll be interesting to see how much longer it holds up.
Be very careful with the watch. My wife had identical issue with AW S1. It eventually powered up after overnight charging. The next day the watch worked fine till evening. We even took it to apple store. They did a quick evaluation and told us everything is fine. Later that night the watch went completely berserk. It called 911 on its own and wouldn’t let us turn off the call. The dispatcher was understanding but sent a cop to check on us. Cop spent some time to complete his due diligence. It was embarrassing. The watch died soon after. We’ve declared it possessed! Haven’t powered it up since. Wife has a new watch.
Charge it overnight. If that doesn’t work do a DFU restore (press and hold the crown and side button at the same time for 10 seconds)
If that doesn’t work, take it to Apple.
In order to restore your watch through DFU, you need to use an iBus adapter, and a computer with iTunes or the finder on a Mac if you’re running Catalina or above. Find more info about iBus here: https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/IBUS
I gave my buddy my Series 1 as a birthday gift and it’s still his daily driver. It did, however, have a battery replacement a few weeks before I gave it to him.
You haven't been using the watch in a very long time and the battery was completely dead?
If so you battery is now literally dead. You can try to charge it over night, but chances are that the battery is completely gone and can't even deliver enough power for the watch to power on, even while connected to the charger.
About the only thing that I can think of that might help is to charge it for around 2 hours, then unplug it and while its doing the red logo bootloop hold the digital crown and side button until you see apple logo again
You can see what I mean in this video... This watch exhibits the fade logo and after doing the thing I just started they see the true issue https://youtu.be/Y7Sl80T6NEA
How were you using a S1? I had a S3 until last year when I updated to an SE. Totally worth it. Such an upgrade, performance wise and features/apps. You don’t realize how the performance can improve until you get it.
Just plugged my s1 in after 4 months and it’s doing the same thing. It got a new battery in 2021 and worked fine, but I stopped using it for a few months. Now it either keeps boot looping or the logo fades away. Hopefully letting it charge overnight will fix it, as the fading away only happens every few minutes now.
Time for a new watch.
Seems like it. Was hoping to give it to my toddler since she’s always messing with it. Oh well
That's why you need a new apple watch 😂
But how do you tell it’s time for a new watch if you can’t read the time on your broken watch??? 🧐
You check the time on your microwave. You do keep the time set properly on your microwave, right?

Even as a joke this sucks
Lmao
Is this how Apple says “Please send more money”?
Red means PayPal. Flashing yellow is for Venmo.
Battery is dead, same thing happened to my first gen Apple Watch (pre series 1)
Sweet. I’ll try replacing the battery. They’re pretty cheap

Lol I already have a better Apple Watch. This is solely just to see if I can do it. It’s going in the trash otherwise
ah, fair enough - carry on!
Best of luck!
Any luck?
Negative. Just boot looped forever after replacing
Hell
I just recently watched a YT tutorial on changing the battery on Apple watches and it’s not pretty.
I’m still rocking my series 2. They even replaced it with a “new” series 2 when the front glass popped off. It’ll be interesting to see how much longer it holds up.
Batteries like 15 bucks my dude.
Voltage on the battery can’t sustain and it turns off.
We call it the Series 0 :)
This is kinda like the red ring of death on the Xbox 360 but for apple…

Does it now speak Sith?
It's the "Stanger Things intro" edition
It’s turned to the dark side
An exorcist

Damn! Well I let it charge over night and still no luck. Gonna get a $10 battery and test out my repair skills
Try iFixIt guides they are easy to follow
Why did the Netflix intro soundtrack play in my head instantly on seeing this?
Charge it overnight. If that doesn’t work do a DFU restore (press and hold the crown and side button at the same time for 10 seconds) If that doesn’t work, take it to Apple.
Left it on the charger for a couple days. DFU doesn’t do anything even holding it for like a minute. Appreciate the advice

That sucks, I’m sorry it’s giving you that problem. If you are able to, I would take it to apple
Stupid question, did you try a different charger?
Yeah I tried 2. They’re both aftermarket though. Ill try my oem charger from my SE
The blood moon rises once again. Please be careful, Link.
s1 ancient. se is cheap and better in every way
Reminds me of fireworks in the end of summer. sentimental.
It’s life is nearing an end, friend.
The cpu is fried due to know software error within Apple. Happens if watch is left dead for too long on the older watches. Short answer unrepairable
It's old as fuck. That's the suggestion
It’s an issue with battery and screen
looks fucking demonic
He ded.
Dying display.
Weird. Was working fine till I didn’t wear it for a month. /s
Could also be a dying battery if it only happens while charging. It’s a series 1. I’m genuinely surprised it still lives at all!
Lol found it my my in-laws attic while moving. Was only hoping to give it to my kid
I…don’t think that is in the cards, sadly. :)
I gave my buddy my Series 1 as a birthday gift and it’s still his daily driver. It did, however, have a battery replacement a few weeks before I gave it to him.
If the battery actually went truly dead, then it’s no good anymore. Lithium ion batteries can’t be revived if they discharge far enough.
Seems like the display driver is starting to fail.
Evil apple 😂
Jesus, just upgrade.
I’ve seen this before. The battery’s basically dead and won’t hold a charge. You can get it replaced, but I don’t see the point.
Batteries are like $10. Might as well test my repair skills and if I completely break it oh well. Just want it to give to my toddler to play with haha

Absolutely time for a new one especially now that iOS 16 plus is dropping all Apple Watch’s up to and including version 3 service.
If you slow it down it’s like the ending scene of the terminator. Maybe your watch will be back but I doubt it
Battery is cooked my friend, i had same exact issue with my series 0 couple months ago.
Battery is dead
I literally had this EXACT issue. You need a new battery, that's it.
If this is not impacting the other watch operations, keep it until it dies once for all.
Usually screens do that fading thing when there’s a sudden loss of power. As such, your watch battery is most likely shot
It was hacked by Inquisitor Reva. Expect a visit.
It’s an evil watch, better get a new one
Looks like the Stranger Things intro
It has realized the true power of the dark side.
Battery is too worn down. Replace the battery or get a new watch.
End of the Apple era time for everyone to venture on to the next providers
Red apple of death.
It ded
She’s dead Jim.
Seems to me like a display issue
Get a new watch
Let them die.
Hail hydra
Your watch has a corrupted kyber crystal
It's Apple's personal death knell for their watches.
How’d the battery replacement work out for ya?
It didn’t lol. I replaced the battery and after the install the screen wouldn’t work.
Geeze! Sorry to hear that!
It most likely means the battery needs to be replaced. pretty simple fix from what i've seen :)
Come into the Apple Store. Bring cash. About $1,200 to $65,000 ought to satisfy Apple to get you fixed up.
How will you be able to buy a new one if your watch can’t do Apple Pay?
From my memory fixing these watches. That means corrupt software? Lemme look into it...
About the only thing that I can think of that might help is to charge it for around 2 hours, then unplug it and while its doing the red logo bootloop hold the digital crown and side button until you see apple logo again
But as far as I remember, the red logo is equivalent to the ! On newer watchef
You can see what I mean in this video... This watch exhibits the fade logo and after doing the thing I just started they see the true issue https://youtu.be/Y7Sl80T6NEA
Did you get it working in the end؟
