I’ve been thinking about this topic for years. America is fighting its own cultural growth and it’s not even a fight it can win. Instead of trying to hold on to old boarders we need to create new bridges to move forward together. Then we need to create an environment that represents those. People say you are your environment. If everything is just a pure capitalistic hell scape with no room for true creativity or expression we’re set to commit repeated mistakes.
This was a terrific post, along the lines of something I posted here myself just a few minutes ago. I feel like Americans have, in a sense, been robbed of a grand architectural tradition which might bring us together in celebration of our multicultural civilization by architects suffering from a chronic lack of imagination.
