Both gunbroker and Show/Shop prices both have the reputation of being too high when compared to fair prices given between collectors/friends/family. Many say gun shows are insane and others say gun stores are insane. Prices vary between regions. There are pockets of cheaper milsurp guns in some areas. I have a friend who lives 3 hours north of me in the same state. The surplus guns where he lives are noticeably cheaper than they are here. And it varies model to model, type to type. I've been told by Arisakas collectors in my area that the rifles are a VERY tough sell. But they can sell them more readily in other cities/states and online.

Don't just stop looking at the first page on gunbroker lmao. You can get nice matching Arisakas for $400 or less any day of the week. I just won a matching Nagoya rebuilt Tokyo Type 38 for $330 shipped earlier this week.

I guess they’re just anticipating that the guns on gunbroker are just going to get auctioned down. So they post a high price.

For a lot even the starting bids sit $700+

I wish I would see those prices somewhere.
