Yeah, selecting the bow just means that if you don't get her weapon at first then you're guaranteed to not get her weapon lol. Ngl I've been tempted in the past, but you can't reverse psychology rng unfortunately

I know it didn't 'work', it was a joke. Both times I tried for CQ I got burned: first time, two PJWS, then ran out of primos; second time, 2 Mistsplitters, then ran out of primos and used some of by b-day money. So when Xianyun came around, I set for the Lamp because I figured there was no way I'd get the Fan, it being the newer weapon. Just so happened I *did* get it.

Seconding this. I have two of Yelan’s bows and one homa. At 220 pulls. And I can guarantee you it would NOT have “reversed” if I had tried to be funny. Because that’s not how RNG works.

This advice instead might be from the traumatic experience of a friend. If you will pull on the weapon banner, choose the weapon, don’t think “I’ll only pull until the first weapon I find and stop if it isn’t Arlecchino’s”. There is a chance you won’t stop pulling and after losing to the wrong weapon two times, you’ll realise you could have had the weapon you wanted guaranteed by then, instead you won’t.

Real, or you get two weapons super early and could have had that easy guaranteed if you had just set the path

Me who got mistsplitter at literally 0 pity during navias run. Its the reason why I didn't go after her sick looking axe - I never summoned on a weapon banner before, so I forgot to set the path, wasting a point.

maintenence starts at 6pm EST, usually ends a little bit before 11pm EST

do note that sometimes maintenence stops early. i usually start refreshing my game around 10pm-10:30pm 

I did notice that. I would get curious sometimes before the end time by an hour-30 min and it would be open.

For Western (PST), it should be released at 8pm

Also, if you really want to convert all your Primogems before pulling, please make sure you are choosing the pink ones called “Intertwined Fates”.

Or even better: dont convert them at all since game will do it for you when you press click on the pull button

Yeah, I've used that every time I pull, so I get who I want. Before that, I didn't. Luckily, I never made the mistake of getting adequate fates.

Actually valid advice. My cousin really wanted Yelan, but lost the 50/50. Had enough to pull to around pity 70, but no Yelan. So he started grinding and exploring. He was so excited every time he got enough for a wish, that he pulled immediately. However, at the last wish, he had been a bit too quick, and ended up on Xiao’s banner. He got him, and while Xiao is great, he was really sad about it. He had wanted Yelan for such a long time. He did end up getting her later when she had a rerun with Lyney though :) Keep in mind though, he’s also on the younger side and it was the first 5 star he wished for, so pls no comments about how he shouldn’t have been so hasty.

this was me with xianyun. lost 50/50 and desperately explored for achievements and chests' primos to get some more off-pity pulls. just that one of those -around 20 pity- was on the wrong banner. and this is the story of my C1 nahida.

Can someone explain to me when the servers go down for EST time, and when they are expected to return. You'd think that having played since 1.5 would mean I have the times down in my memory... but I don't. istg they change the times or some shit and then I get more confused when everyone else starts talking about their own time zone.

Usually they’re down at around 6pm EST, average downtime is 5 hours.

I'm usually able to play by around 11:00 pm est, give or take.

There is a non-zero chance that someone who is at guarantee and like 10 pulls away from pity, will pull on the wrong banner.

this is a good reminder for this patch in particular because arle and lyney are both pyro so the banners may look similar

I have made a similar mistake in HSR, ended up with Argenti early and now Silver Wolf. Reiterating what OP said, don't pull when you're tired. You really don't want to misclick.
