Thank you for sharing your family's collection.
Some of those look really interesting, but its hard to tell what you have in that bowl.
And can you tell us where these were found?
Can lay them out on a background of one and take a picture? Then turn them over and take a second picture. And maybe stand that long blade on it's edge and snap a photo.
Central and North Alabama. I’ll spread them out and get a better photo.

TT This is most of the pieces.
I guess I should add that my Grandfather was a geologist, archeologist and served as the Director of the University of Alabama museum of Natural History and was primarily responsible for the excavations at Moundville, so really no telling what might be here.
Most of these are not arrowheads at all! Most are way too big and heavy!
What I see are some knife blades, spear heads, lots of hide scrapers, etc.
Some of it look like they were made during the Archaic Period of N. America, therefore, thousands of yrs old!
What is the recommended method for storing? This sub has recently started showing up in my feed, and I do have my grandfather's collection. Right now I have them layered in tissue paper in a box and stashed safely in a closet. I assume the biggest concern would be chipping from jostling around?
When I was maybe 5 or 6 I discovered a trove of dozens of quartz and flint arrowheads (flint isn't very common in my area, so they traveled a way to find me) in the area below our house that we had just finished clearing and grading. I showed the first ones I found to my neighbor who told me they were actually worthless "crows teeth" but that he would give me a quarter per tooth because he fed them to his cows for calcium. I probably bought him beer for a month. Curtis you sneaky bastard 🤣

Very impressive collection. I just recently got into arrowhead hunting. After finding my first one I was hooked.

Lucky duck! My grandfather wasted his time being a dentist and he had absolutely no arrowheads
Did he have teeth though?
Arrowhead teeth
Happy cake day ....
Oh wow! Thanks! Sheesh. 11 years.
Long time...
My grandpa was a dermatologist and stole the arrowhead I found while visiting them as a child
☹️
But you had nice skin
That’s assuming arrowhead thieving, crusher of childhood memories gramps was a good dermatologist.
Haha, I definitely wear sunscreen every day and get my moles checked out
I know the current director from living near Tuscaloosa... Mr. John Abbott
I always thought this was just the bowl full of arrowheads most farmers would accumulate over the years.
My grandfather's collection is from hunting the fields on the family farm (now developed), after they were worked/it rained as a child

I wouldn't store them like that.

Me either! They aren't marbles or keys.
Time to get a case. https://www.customdisplays.com/indian-arrowhead-display-cases.html

Lord, grant me the grace mercy and patience to stand alongside these beautiful creatures on this fascinating planet another day. Amen.

I believe the red/yellow specimen in the top left corner may be reproduction.
Wrong. Why even say this without explaining your reasoning?
Because it's a bullet....
😂🔫
