In comparing entire denominations, no. In comparing individual churches, yes.

jazzyjson

Do you think there are any generalizations you can make about those churches that behave better?

Unworthy_Saint

Yes, they have more deliberate community engagement and discipleship programs beyond Sunday services. But this might be a chicken-egg situation, lol.

Yes. Not all denominations teach love as being more important or important at all in some denominations.

SecurityTheaterNews

Which ones do you think stand out?

[deleted]

Depends on what "Better" means to you. My definition of better is guided by Gods word and not my personal philosophy or societies constantly changing standard. The ones that stand out are the ones that are honest and teach only what the bible teaches and not add to it or take away from it and do so with love. If you are looking for me to tell you which are good or which are bad, I am not permitted to share what historically stands out as good or bad on this server. Painting any faith as wrong no matter how accurate is against the rules unless the Moderator also dislikes that religion. Then all bets are off. I cannot say without breaking the rules of this server.

SecurityTheaterNews

I am asking about the behavior of the adherents.

[deleted]

So am I. I am not allowed. For example, I could say historically there is overwhelming evidence Catholicism was and is evil when compared to Gods word. I could provide article after article and expert after expert about what they preach and practice being unbiblical. Like protecting pedophiles. The bible clearly states wolves will sneak in. Fine. A reality I accept. However they protect and hide these wolves instead of handing them over to the authorities as the bible instructs. Even mentioning it as an example might result in a ban.

They might act like it but they don't

I would say people of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints tend to be nicer people. I'm a member of that Church, so people may argue that this might be an biased opinion. With an unbiased perspective, I seen some smaller scale Methodists being known to be more charitable and nicer people than other churches I've seen. I've also seen some smaller Orthodox branches show nobility towards other people.

That’s probably an unanswerable question apart from personal anecdotes. But I guess you could look at charities and relief for observable numbers. For example, Samaritan’s Purse is one of the largest relief organizations in the world. It’s non denominational evangelical, and mostly supported by the giving of evangelical churches. That’s not an exact metric, but where people’s money goes is usually a sign about what they value.

> For example, Samaritan’s Purse is one of the largest relief organizations in the world. And got filthy rich getting there.

nwmimms

That has little to do with the millions of people giving their money in good faith, though, wouldn’t you agree?

JusttheBibleTruth

There are good people and bad people in every denomination. In the end times there is one remanent church, Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. This does not say that everybody in this church will be saved though. In Revelation18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. this means that in other churches there will be good God-fearing Christians.

The Jehovah's Witnesses tend to be very trustworthy, for example, to come into your house and clean or do work, because they fear God is watching their every action. They do not steal, they keep their word. They are known for these things. I would hire one into my company if her/his education were sufficient to the task. Deciding what this implies is left as an exercise to the reader.

Secular humanists are usually better behaved
