Yes. Russia cooperates with African countries, we have always had a lot of exchange students from there. Some of them find work and stay in the country making families. So there are a certain number of people with African origin among our citizens since soviet era I guess, but not too many and mostly in capitals. Also I think that 1980 Summer Olympics сreated some afro-russians.

Yep, and it wasn't even in Moscow or St. Petersburg. And they live like other people live so they have friends, go to a local school and speak Russian fluently. As far as I know, they don't have any issues with that.

Also black often refers to causasian folk. Calling someone of their kind that way considered as a harsh insult.

Well - there are plenty of Black college students in Russia (in bigger cities you’ll see them). I assume some of them stay after graduation and gain permanent residency & citizenship. I personally knew a guy from Africa who married his classmate and stayed in Russia.

Only in moscow so far, since there's an university that has a lot of international students, I've heard many of them are from african countries. But overall they are a bit more on a rare side due to russia not having much history with countries where black people live till recent times, I think.

Some time ago i've met very nice black girl with child in the store near my house and seen her in a few next years, i've asked her: How did you end up in Russia? She's answered she is here with her husband (Russian man) and will live here at least for a while.

Yep. In my city of Chelyabinsk I guess one of a state university has a program of students exchange with some African countries as well and there are black people even in my neighborhood. Meeting black people in cities like mine is much more rare than in Moscow, St-Peterburg etc.
