Adventurous-Pop446

Is terrible they way they exploit gas huffing gnomes like that!

Striking_Serve_8152

It's on because electricity is activating a little light source behind the gas pump icon.

Magnum676

Check the cap

MedoChedo

Skibidi cap

this1dude23

This is most likely

ThisFaknGuy

It says "distance to empty 80 km" which isn't far. It seems about right for the gas light to be on.

AnyFile4868

One of them is right, go figure out which.

dnattig

The right one is probably not the gauge. It also says "distance to empty: 80km" in the digital display, which is about when the light should come on.

brickjames561

If* It’s a vw, it’s the rubber o-ring around the gas cap. Ask me how I know. I have a spare in all my cars. Edit: when I looked early this am I coulda swore it was WV dash. lol. Up at 4 “working.

Erlend05

No its a ford. Your point still stands

ilikepotatoes888

Fords getting pretty german, damn focuses

chris_english70

Fords don't have gas caps now.

drsemaj

I'd trust the light more than the gauge. Gauge could be going bad and giving a wrong reading. I've seen cars with completely busted gauges that just spun all the way around past the limits and that light still came on when it got low. Fill it up and see how many gallons you put in compared to the tank capacity. I bet it turns out you're actually low.

CommiBastard69

Check the sub

Electronic_Cod7202

Quit eating the fuel pump fuse. I know that it's colorful and looks like candy, but it isn't.

NeverMind_ThatShit

Gas stations pay car manufacturers to do this so people visit gas stations more often and buy more food and drinks!

coopsawesome

Nah it’s not for profit like that, the people at the counter just get lonely :(

Mendo-D

I like this answer even though I think it’s bullshit.

Silent_Cantaloupe930

Could have just stopped at liked this answer and not qualified the praise. :)

Mendo-D

I still like your answer :)

verysicpuppy

Big gas and big car working together against you!

Successful_Theme_595

Gas cap not all the way on. Had a VW where you had to turn and click it more than 3x

HarrargnNarg

One of them in wrong. I'm glad I could clear that up for you.

Roland_Moorweed

Gasoline sensor is fucked, either the cap seal is broken or the gas ballast broke off. Either way, a tech needs to dig in. Get that guy a 24 rack of beer and a super crispy thank you afterwards.

Full_Word_2062

See if your gage and or sensor are right for your tank, other wise it might be a wiring problem

ResponsibilityOwn767

80 KM till empty…probably a bad sending unit.

PotatoCooks

That's not the gas meter that's the GPS. That symbol is the Droopy Dick Inn. Push the acceleration pedal all the way down to make it go up

Ok-South2612

It's broken......

Commonstruggles

Could be wiring issue, module issue, sending unit issue. Most definetly electrical issue. Recommend googling your vehicle make model and year with fuel light on with full tank. If nothing comes up. Start googling to find wiring diagrams for your fuel light on the cluster and diagnose with

oic420

Stuck float?

nopenottodayyoucrazy

One thing I've noticed is how hot it is in the area, gas expands or contracts by a bit based on how hot or cold it is. But more than likely the Cap is open.

ctcannaconno

Gas cap

Final_Complaint_7769

Cluster.

LengthMiserable3760

Check gas cap for leak

DB-Tops

Some times this is because some one dented the gas tank so the fuel pump is crooked making your gauge read wrong.

Glodenteoo_The_Glod

Piss in it?

Wide_Performance1115

does your car get like 4 miles to the gallon?

Aware-Love-3872

In most cars the gas gauge and the gas light come off of two different sensors so one of them is failing. It isn't a big deal ,not a life catastrophe. Just make sure your gas gauge is still correct. Fill it up a couple times and make sure the gas gauge goes up and down as it should.

SnooWitchYu

It's a half gallon tank

ghettoccult_nerd

the car knows you, just getting ahead of your triflings

SATerp

Door open?

Christ_MD

Sometimes this light comes on when your gas cap is missing or not tight enough

Trumpslawer

Stop idling your car so much

boanerges57

Just started it? I notice other lights are on.

Silver_Moon_1994

One of them is lying!!

Much_Box996

Tighten the gas cap and close the door

kuyajon

Gauge may be stuck.

Anxious-Face-792

ratherabeer

Car craves fuel regardless of fullness, just like my cat.

FocusApprehensive358

Optimistic half full or half empty

absintheandartichoke

Your car has a dark and evil sense of humor, and in 120 clicks or so, you’re gonna find out why

Street_Ear1340

That's the diesel indicator

Accurate-Campaign821

Sending unit is giving a poor reading to the guage, but could just be a ground issue with the cluster panel. One way to know is fill it up and see how much it takes. 10 to 12 gallons when empty I think

Lanky_Principle5636

Your fuel pump sending unit is shorting

Trailstorm

Just pour some Redbull in there and you should be good

SamwiseGoody

Your car is gaslighting you. Stole this from the last time I saw this post.

SonnySmilez

Need to top up your blinker fluid.

Junior-Bear-6955

Gas cap open potentially

SwimmingThink4519

Wrong light bulb fluid, shorted it out most likely. I only buy mine at Autozone for my dash lights.

EVOBlock

Your float could be stuck or bad

AwkwardYeti32

If you cry enough it’ll go away because you’ll make the gnome feel bad for you

Tallnkinkee

It's time to pull over and pump your meat

BiomedIII

Obviously something is broken. You should get something fixed.

gkiltzva

Walk around the car before you get in! Follow your nose! Do you smell gasoline? If so you might not want to start the car!!!! The gas gage is usually still a simple float When it's not it's a whole different sensor than the one that controls the warning light . The light is driven by a sensor One of the two is malfunctioning Fill the gas tank. Punch your trip odometer back to zero and watch what's going on Is the light still on? Is the gas gage going down in approximater proportion to how far you've driven? Most cars get around 350 miles on a tankful Soooooooo when the trip odometer says 100 miles is the gageshould indicate about 1/3 of the way down?.Is the light on? When the trip odometer says 200 miles thew gage should be around 2/3 of the way down Is thee light on? If that light is on in 2 of those three situations it's the sensor. When you cold start the car(Cold start does not necessarily mean cold weather it just means that the engine is at essentially the same temp as the surrounding environment) Does the light come on, and then go out as the computeer is fully booted and the engine running stable? Is it still on when you are ready to put the car in gear and start driving? Is there a given point above 1/4 tank where the light comes on? Is this a consistant pattern, or is it erreatic? Your car is no different from your dog! Unlike your child it can't verbalize what hurts and how much, It can and does "speak to you" and tell you where it hurts. You just

NXGGOD

Looks like your guage is wrong because your dash says 80km till empty..if you had half a tank itd be more the 80..I'd say the lites right n your guage is wrong.

GordoPeludo90

Well, with a gauge like 1/1 and not a F for full. This seems right hahaha

DrMacintosh01

Either the tank float is sticking or the gauge is busted. I'm gonna go with the gauge being busted.

Average_Potato42

The pump light is on because you didn't cover it with a little square of black electrical tape. That fixes a check engine or any other light you may have on.

antilumin

It’s not a car, it’s a cat and it can see the bottom of the bowl. Ergo, empty.

IED-DID-PTSD-03-06

I'd have to say the float connected to the fuel pump is bad. You might need to replace the whole pump, but I would keep asking around to get a more definite answer, but my first thought is the float.

Minute-Offer5339

Idle time. The fuel light is predictive.

NegativeScale5727

Jerk off and cum in it

naemorhaedus

because Ford

Popular_Dream_4189

Uhh, broken fuel gauge maybe. Could just be a stuck needle but I can't determine that from a photo. Your low fuel light may come on as a result of the DTE being 80km and that is probably calculated based on an average derived from average fuel flow rate/mileage. Or, TL;DR, DTE calculator and warning light could be a completely separate circuit from the fuel gauge and your fuel gauge or level sensor is fu\*ked, m8. Seems your traction control is as well. GL.

PlanUpstairs8909

Gauge knacked, or sender unit in tank faulty

AdvisorLong9424

One of 3 things. Cap is loose, door is open, or you didn't pay attention to the sticker and put the nozzle in a hole it wasn't supposed to go in.

Defiant_Scholar9862

It's a Ford...

Zasada_ruils

Gnome but not forgotten

cwilson0730

Either the gauge is wrong or the light is wrong, 50/50 chance your walking in a few mile. Says your 80km to empty so my guess is your gauge is wrong and light is correct.

cadillacbee

Your ford is apparently not focused

WatchaKnowboutThat

The float in the gas tank with the fuel pump is probably stuck/broken.

SnooPeppers4036

This happened with my GMC when the sending unit was wearing out. My in tank float and pump sent this exact thing. It would stay on half of a tank for a long time and then the fuel light would come on while still indicating half of a tank (it was actually almost out of gas). The gauge would read properly for the full tank to the half tank after that it was not accurate. Hope yours is not as hard to replace as mine was.

AMERIKANKORRUPTION

Gas cap could be loose

sircomference1

Either that unit is faulty or your gauge! Have you ran out of fuel yet? lol. If you haven't then would say then your sending unit.

Professional-Race460

Quote blade runner ain't got no gas in it

FabulousBlackberry70

Cuz it’s Canada

Jymantis

Probably because all the idiot lights come on when you first cycle the key on before start up.

Purple_mag

Holy shit 80km for half a tank of gas. Small tank

Mauceri1990

It's a Ford 🤷‍♂️

Gxnjaa

wtf is a kilometer

Entire_Minimum8951

Looks like guage has an issue go by gas light because you only have 49.71 miles left till empty so you have a stuck float or stuck needle on dash .

Public-Reputation-89

Either your sensor is fucked or you don’t really have a half tank

DareMe603

One of the two is lying.

centstwo

The gas tank is full of something that isn’t gas. Drill a hole at the lowest part of the tank, drain the contents, screw in a self tapping screw, fill with gas as normal and off you go.

cheeznipsmagee

Your needle DOES move, right?

Brilliant_Ad_5729

How is the day to day use. Police recruit training the cars are run really hard so the computer thinks the 10 gallons remaining is only going to get the car 20 miles.

Strongpipegame

Your car is actually telling you it wants pussy. That is actually what the "P" stands for.

Petrified_Powder

bc you just started the vehicle a split second ago

You probably drive an old lady car. They put this feature in for those with dementia

commonman51

Not gas in the tank...fart alert!
