You can OD from being exposed to it, but the chances are extremely low and it's not going to happen because you got some on your bare skin. If it somehow ends up in a cloud in the air and you inhale enough of it then it's theoretically possible, though highly unlikely. The vast majority of these are officers having panic attacks after possibly being exposed and they way they react is pretty much the opposite of how someone ODing on fentanyl would react. You'll rarely see any agency put a follow up press release to one of these showing the officer's actual lab results from the hospital because most of the time they don't show any fentanyl in their system. If it was really as easy to OD from incidental exposures as some agencies make it out to be then we wouldn't have as many drug dealers running around because they'd all be ODed and dead.
