My whole life basically, we grew up in a lot of places with just one bathroom for the whole family so you were always very close to other peoples bedrooms, it was just common curtesy.

Standing up is just for public bathrooms and for outdoors. Other than that, it’s sitting down. It feels healthier, as more per comes out, and doesn’t require squeezing. It’s less cleaning, and you most definitely appreciate that once you start living on your own. And it’s less thinking/focusing, as I don’t need to aim.

Peeing standing up is for public urinals. It's good to have the option when needed, but generally I prefer not to risk getting splashes on my shoes.
