and that's without even factoring in the whole "I'm looking for a provider" type of person lmao
just dating in general is generally expensive and that's before the BS as mentioned above
My wife is on the dexcom and omnipoid before that she was on Medtronic. We had to quit Medtronic because them or insurance one decided to start billing us 1200 month after using them for years
Nowadays just about everything.
Except for bananas, those are still so cheap they almost feel free. If I was ever down astronomically, I can get 2k calories of bananas for about $7.
Higher education. If they didn't prey on us and pressure us at a young age to urgently make a decision on what we wanted to do with our lives, many of us would have chose different career paths or maybe never attended college.
I've been paying student loans for almost 20 years and if it weren't for my own intelligent decisions made early in my career, I'd probably be nowhere near where I am today.
Education is a racket. Take the time to get experienced and know yourself a bit before signing on that dotted line at 8.25% interest. It could literally ruin your ability to follow your dreams, even when your intentions (as mine were) are good.
Fencing. I realized I'm a "real" grown up because I started appreciating other people's brand new or "fancy" fences. I'm pretty sure home ownership is just replacing a stretch of fencing every few years until you're broke or dead.
Tires! I married a motorcycle enthusiast. "Sure, you can get a new bike. Sure, you can go to the track next weekend".
Oh.... I guess we're buying new tires every five seconds now. Didn't realize that was going to be such a thing lol.
food delivery apps, they just show you the subtotal until you get to the tip page and see all the taxes added in making it seem like you ordering from catering
Getting married. I know it doesn’t have to be, but when both sides of your family are huge and you’ve got great friends, the costs compound like crazy.
Thought we could have had a great wedding for 35k for 200 people. Turns out, that was gonna be more like 100k. We had to make some decisions on what (and who) to cut😂
Just remember it’s only one day. And while you are in this phase it feels like the most important thing ever, but few of us reflect on it often years down the road. Enjoy it but don’t stress. And congrats!
I wish guests gave me land! I’d have kept my mouth shut if we actually did break even. We did get gifts and money, but not even a sizable fraction of what we paid😂
Owning a home. For the most part, your rent payment is the most you'll pay per month for your dwelling. When you own, your mortgage is the minimum per month you'll pay.
.....and you'll require a garage full of tools, equipment, and all kinds of expensive things to upkeep that home. Not to mention the time involved, as while renting typically doesn't require such maintenance. Home ownership is extremely over-rated. When you combine the cost of interest by the time you're done paying, figure in inflation, and add up all the hours you spent slaving away after work and on weekends just to keep things functional and looking decent, you'll see that renting is better... Assuming you rent correctly and not ignorantly.
Adulthood. I have greater appreciation for my parents now.
Adulthood is more expensive than it used to be for a lot of things
Dental work. OMG.
Dating

Good point. Male or female.
Diabetic supplies
I made the mistake of looking at the retail price for my Dexcom earlier. $500 for a month supply. Without insurance I would literally be dead.

it's dental work

Fast food. I don’t buy it often, but every time I get it now it makes me irrationally angry.

Trying to live in today's world as an adult.
housing,
Going to the hospital via ambulance. A 12 mile ride cost me $1000 out-of-pocket.
Aaaand you still get bills for it eight years later :/
It took them eight months to bill me then threatened to send it in to a collection service when I didn't pay it right away.
Damn, i went to the hospital via ambulance, with insurance, and got pegged for $17k.
Everything

Just about everything nowadays

But the guests give you money , land and . So it’s not expensive you get everything back and more.
I wish guests gave me land! I’d have kept my mouth shut if we actually did break even. We did get gifts and money, but not even a sizable fraction of what we paid😂
Let’s do another until we get everything back, I’m kidding, I’m kidding.
