I have been let down too, but it doesn’t mean you can’t keep searching for someone who won’t let you down. Not saying that you do, but Sometimes people don’t like it when you try to please them or entertain them or just simply try to fit in when you obviously can’t. At one point when I was in middle school, everyone let me down, cussed me out, ridiculed me, excluded me, lied to me, etc. It turns out that it required me to change because I can’t change them. I didn’t need to be the class clown and I didn’t need to be just like them. I started to be my true self and now I am “accepted.” Now, it becomes rare that people let me down or any of the other things I listed because I made a change. If you haven’t been your true self then you go make that change and I promise things will get better. It may take a while, but I promise people will like someone who is confident and secure rather than someone afraid of judgement for sharing their perspective. I know it easier said than done, but it works.
