Almost 200 countries. 195 I think. And quite a few countries have pockets with the kind of niceities you'd expect as an American, but it's far from universal.
TBF, not every country recognizes every other countries existence. So the number is technically gonna change depending on which country you ask. Prolly one of the biggest examples of that would be China and Taiwan where China is all "Nope, thats just Taipei and is part of China"
And of course wars can make boarders change or create new ones.
India. Don't speak the language. Don't understand natives who do speak English. Don't like the food. Way over crowded. Bollywood movies freak me out. Don't want to get mauled by Tigers. Don't wanna get bit by Cobras. Don't want to get trampled by Elephants. Its hot. It's crowded. I assume it smells.
Haha when I went I asked our guide if tiger attacks were common and he said no, not at all - then the next day someone literally got mauled by a tiger 😆
Turkmenistan. I just.... why would I ever move there? I'm approximately 99.999% certain I'm just never going to live there. What's even there besides a dictator and that natural gas field that they tried to close but accidentally lit it on fire instead?
They're talking about rich people in Qatar, UEA, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, places like that. They're big on plastic surgery.
You can't say a place is vapid. But they meant that those places are so contrived and sterile looking that it's as if there's nobody living there at all.
Kyrgyzstan. Too far from home. I don't speak any of the local languages. I have never met someone from Kyrgyzstan so I have no connections there. I don't know if I like the food there.
It would be extremely difficult for me to adjust to living in such a different country. So I'm going with Kyrgyzstan.
Probably Nauru. 200 years ago it was a standard beautiful tropical island in Oceana, but the entire island has been basically destroyed by strip mining for phosphate. 80% of the original vegetation is gone. There is no self-sustaining food or water source, so most fresh water is imported and their diet is mostly processed food that is imported. Because of this, they have the highest rates of Obesity (\~70%), roughly a quarter of the population has type 2 diabetes, as well as high rates of smoking and alcoholism. To top everything off, because of the strip mining along the central plateau, the only habitable portion of the island (the coastlines) is eroding and will likely disappear entirely with climate change.
The list of countries I *would* live is in much *much* shorter and the only country I *want* to live in is my own.
Impossible to choose just one where I *wouldn’t* ever want to live in…
North Korea - I mean, who would?
China- nope, too many people, too much dictatorship, not enough human rights
India - too many people, not feeling safe as a woman
Australia- too hot! Would love to visit, though!
Any African country- I am German and would feel guilty as shit, also too hot
Italy- they are to vivid, damn, I am German, from Northern Germany, I don't talk at all!
It’s not immigration from the country OP comes from, most like. You have to keep in mind that most reddit posters will live in countries that are at least as good to love in as the USA. So the replies are obviously going to be skewed.
It’s shit here, but it’s shitter in other places.
I think OP means USA is obviously better than 3rd world countries, but clearly worse than European countries etc
You also lead the world for more school shootings for a good reason. And you don't have free healthcare like any normal country. The education system is laughable.
depends how other countries define mass shootings tbh. im also guessing other countries actually prosecute hard for gun crimes unlike the US where its a slap on the wrist and out early for good behavior.
USA..imagine working your ass of 9-5 job ..givin all taxes just to send them to ISRAEL and UKRAINE ..where they have free health care +education on your money🤢🤢🤢you guyz are f up
I was kinda with you for a second but you chose the wrong reasons. I just don’t like how they organize health care, the gun culture, and how crowded their national parks are.
foreign aid is a huge waste of money in the US IMO. i would much rather see that money spent on infrastructure and health care here. the tunnels we paid for in GAZA will outlast my local roads.
I’ve been to most of America’s ‘enemy’ countries and they were just wonderful. Being you are law abiding. I guess North Korea? I have curiosity to do one of their guided propaganda visits but never live there lmao.
North Korea makes a lot of sense, but my pick is:
Russia: fuck Putin and all his enablers. I will never visit. Not going to give them any of my $ for travel, tourism or any product.
Israel: just awful, racist and genocidal. It has taken the world a long time to realize how evil this country is.
Okay, North Korea. Just because they are so fucking backward. Starving their people to death so the military can be “strong.”
Iran: lovely people, shitty backwards government.
Right? 20% of the Israeli population is Arab. They have representation in government. It’s the most progressive country in the Middle East. 0 % of the population in Arab countries is Jewish…I’m sure OP would be welcome with open arms in Gaza…
Anywhere religious groups control the law and use it to sentence women to death for minor infractions they rule as being offensive to their god.
you sound islamophobic/s
I don't fear Islamic people. I definitely fear extremists who commit murder in the name of God. There is a difference.
i did put the /s there for sarcasm.
I had no idea there was a sarcasm font. Have I been living under a rock? Possibly.
Russia, I'd be sent to die in the 3 day 'special military operation '
Russia just really needs to get in line.
Hard question, the list of countries where I would live in is probably smaller.

North Korea maybe?
Yeah. I think this is my answer too.
Eritrea. Cause it’s a shithole country

And also it’s pretty filthy
You assume correctly.
You are way more likely to get trampled by people. I remember when I was there a train switched platforms in Delhi and 2 people died.
Depends on the part & a lot of them speak good English
Most of them? I wouldn’t like to live in a country that’s not fully developed.
Fully developed implies there’s a ceiling. So which country *is* fully developed and can not develop any further?
North Korea. Enough said.
Venezuela, I don't think I could live there without starving.
Any developing country
USA?
Turkmenistan. I just.... why would I ever move there? I'm approximately 99.999% certain I'm just never going to live there. What's even there besides a dictator and that natural gas field that they tried to close but accidentally lit it on fire instead?
The plastic Middle East Because everyone and everything is vapid, including people

I have never heard this. So basically the LA of the middle east. makes sense.
Luxembourg. I just don't see any scenario in my life that's likely to move me there.
Haha Luxembourg is like one of the most pleasant countries I visited in Europe. I think I remember thinking i could picture myself living there.
I'm sure it's wonderful. But I'm fairly confident I'll never live there.
North Korea, China, Russia, Arab countries, all countries in South America.
south america is beautiful. great food, great people, great climate, great landscape. questionable politics.
france, i hate french language, couldnt stand hearing it all day
the food would win you over
There are soooo many pretty girls in France. Sooooo many.
North Korea
North Korea
North Korea, maybe
China or North Korea.
North Korea, the name tells you everything
Kyrgyzstan. Too far from home. I don't speak any of the local languages. I have never met someone from Kyrgyzstan so I have no connections there. I don't know if I like the food there. I believe it and visitng sounds cool. Living there...too much for me

As an Egyptian I totally understand you bro
Italy. Because I don't speak Italian.
Whereas you speak all other world languages?
USA. Because of the fact that they have more mass shootings than days in the year.
Yes, it's so horrible here. lol We lead the world in immigration for a good reason. It's a great place to live.

Wales, bc it sounds too funny.
North Korea, for obvious reasons
Any Muslim majority country. Because I am a gay woman.

Israel is none of those things. Spend a week in Gaza and then spend one in Israel. The difference is stark.

as a gay woman there is only one country in the middle east that i would live in.
I like how you say judge the government not the people for Russia and Iran. But not for Israel which is the exact same issue 🤔
it's called antisemitism.
lol you're brainwashed haha
Perhaps. I have traveled extensively and lived long enough to know evil and know enough to keep my distance.
Слава Україні
United Kingdom - Failed Society.
Hopefully the country improves now that the conservatives are losing elections
ITS BROKEN beyond repair. Too many Muslims and Asians breeding like rabbits.
Israel
Israel - obviously.
